Matt Hardy Says Today Is The Day It Ends & Begins, Matt On Jeff Hardy’s Return To WWE SmackDown

The speculation on Matt Hardy’s post-WWE future continues.

Hardy took to Twitter today and said today is the day, for something.

“Today is the day it ends. Today is the day it begins,” he wrote.

There’s still no word yet on if Matt will end up with AEW or some other promotion now that he’s a free agent from WWE, but we may have a better idea after he releases part 2 of the “Free The Delete” series finale later this afternoon. There’s already speculation on his latest tweet being related to a possible debut on tonight’s AEW Dynamite episode.

New AEW Teaser For The Dark Order Spells Out “Matt Hardy”

AEW posted the latest teaser for the reveal of The Exalted One of The Dark Order last night, adding to the rumors and speculation on Matt Hardy being brought in for the group.

As we’ve noted, Matt is expected to sign with AEW but that has not been confirmed, and there’s no solid word yet on what he will be doing if he does sign with the promotion.

You can see that the first letter of each line in the new teaser spells, “MATT HARDY.”

The teaser reads like this:

MADE FROM THE VOID OF HOPELESSNESS
AND FROM TIME SPENT AWAY WITH THE SHADOWS
THIS IS WHAT IT TOOK FOR ME TO ARRIVE
THE CALLING….HELLO?
ARE YOU THERE?
READY & WAITING
DARK ORDER WELCOMES ME
YOU ARE HERE

Hardy, who is now a free agent after his WWE contract expired last weekend, has not acknowledged the AEW teaser as of this writing. You can see the full tweet below:

Matt Hardy Reveals His WWE Contract Status

Matt Hardy has revealed that he will let his contract with WWE expire and he’s going to become a free agent. Hardy announced the news on his YouTube show, Thoughts From The Throne.

“This is what happened as of this current time, I have decided to let my contract with WWE expire,” Hardy revealed. “I am going to become a free agent and that’s not saying I’m not ever going to return to WWE.”

Matt Hardy also revealed that the reason he’s becoming a free agent because he and WWE are on different pages creatively.

“It’s just time for me to take a break and become a free agent,” he said. “I didn’t want to leave WWE because it is my home. The reason I needed to leave WWE is because when it comes to my creative stance and my outlook on myself and my career and how I wanted to go for these last three or four years that I have left to spend as an active in-ring competitor I just think myself and WWE are on different pages.”

Matt Hardy Says “New And Omnipotent” Version Of His Character Is Days Away

Just days after a beatdown from Randy Orton on Raw, Matt Hardy has released a video thanking the WWE star for helping to complete his transformation. (The video was posted on YouTube on February 21.)

The video begins with Matt, as himself, talking about his attempt to confront Orton on Monday going wrong and how he had to go to a medical facility afterward.

“Now I’m home. And I’m speaking. And breathing. And I’m recuperating. But I am alive. I am truly un-killable,” he adds before something in him shifts and Hardy is briefly overtaken by the evil entity known as Abomination from his “Free the Delete”‘ series.

It’s worth noting the effect on Matt’s voice here is similar to what’s been used for AEW’s Exalted One.

As we previously reported, Hardy’s WWE contract expires on March 1.

In the video … Broken Matt resumes control of his vessel from Abomination and talks about how his transformation back would not have been complete without Randy’s violent “assassination” this week.

“We had to witness the burial of the Hardy Boyz version of Matt Hardy,” he explained. “But as I sit here, in my beloved chair of wheels, on the magical Hardy compound, YESSSS, we are now only a matter of days away from the rebirth, the reincarnation, the resurrection, YESSSS, of my essence. YESSSSSS! We are only a few days away from the second coming of the new and OMNIPOTENT version of Matt Hardy.”

Matt Hardy Comments Following Randy

Matt Hardy took to Twitter today with cryptic comments following last night’s attack from Randy Orton on WWE RAW. It’s believed that this could be the angle to write Matt off WWE TV as his contract expires on March 1st, but the same thing was rumored after the attack by Orton last week.

WWE noted during RAW commentary that Matt had been taken to a local medical facility after the chair attack from Orton, while he was wearing a neck brace.

Matt wrote, “When tragedy FRACTURES you, SHATTERS you.. Pick up the pieces & recreate yourself into something GREATER. The #BROKEN pieces won’t be lost in limbo forever. NEVAH LOSE FAITH.”

With that tweet, Matt linked to a new “In Limbo” video, which you can see embedded below. That episode features Matt, in the brace, commenting on how he’s in a horrible slump and a terrible losing streak. He chokes and says maybe he was meant to be “Choken” Matt Hardy.

Matt made another tweet today that translates to the cycle of death and rebirth. “SAMSARA,” he wrote.

The other post-RAW tweet from Hardy links to the original “Free The Delete” episode.

He wrote, “Sitting in my #ChairOfWheels at the hospital & just realized I’ve seen this exact moment before in a PREMONITION. One ESSENCE must PERISH for a new ESSENCE to be RESURRECTED.”

Stay tuned for updates on Matt’s WWE future. You can see the latest “In Limbo” video and cryptic tweets below:

WWE Announces Matt Hardy Vs. Randy Orton No Holds Barred Match For RAW

WWE has announced a No Holds Barred match for Monday’s WWE RAW from the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington.

The match will see two WWE veterans clash as Matt Hardy take on Randy Orton.

This match was made after Orton took out Matt with a steel chair shot to the head on this week’s RAW. Matt had just confronted Orton over his recent attack to WWE Hall of Famer Edge.

It had appeared that the angle on this week’s RAW was done to write Matt off WWE TV as his contract expires on March 1 and he’s reportedly on his way out of the company. There’s no word yet on if he has re-signed, or if WWE is just using him until March 1.

Below is the announcement on Monday’s No Holds Barred match:

Matt Hardy to battle Randy Orton in No Holds Barred MatchThis past Monday on Raw, Randy Orton subjected Matt Hardy to the same brutal Con-Chair-To that sent Edge out of Raw on a stretcher. Now, Hardy is coming for payback.

In the wake of Orton’s heinous attack, the former Raw Tag Team Champion is now slated to battle The Apex Predator in a No Holds Barred Match, placing Orton directly on a collision course with his most recent victim — to say nothing of a Superstar who refuses to take the abuse lying down. After all, Hardy is as much a trailblazer as Edge, and his history is almost completely entwined with that of The Rated-R Superstar. Then again, Randy Orton seems to take a particular delight in destroying legends these days. He’ll be more than happy to do it again.

Tune in to Raw this Monday, live at 8/7 C on USA Network.

Matt Hardy Reportedly Done With WWE

WWE did an injury angle on this week’s RAW that saw Randy Orton take out Matt Hardy after Matt confronted Orton over the recent attack on WWE Hall of Famer Edge. They had words and Matt blocked the first RKO attempt, but Orton ended up connecting and dropping him. Orton then smashed Matt’s head between two steel chairs, just like he did with Edge a few weeks ago. It was speculated that WWE did this angle to write Matt off TV as his contract reportedly expires on Sunday, March 1.

Matt tweeted a goodbye message to his fans after RAW and linked them to the latest “Free The Delete” episode on YouTube, which includes a possible teaser on him being “The Exalted One” for The Dark Order in AEW.

There has been no word on a possible last minute deal between WWE and Matt, but it’s been reported that creative differences are a “major hurdle” in the contract negotiations, not pay.

Matt Hardy Says His “Countdown To Arcadia Has Begun” Following Latest WWE RAW Loss

Matt Hardy was back on WWE television tonight for only the second time since April. After losing a fairly quick match to Buddy Murphy on RAW on November 25th, Hardy was defeated in another one-sided match by Drew McIntyre on tonight’s RAW.

Hardy’s WWE contract is reportedly up in late February of 2020. PWInsider recently reported that the biggest point of contention in contract negotiations is how will be used creatively going forward. The two sides are reportedly not that far apart on the final aspects of a new deal.

Following his loss to McIntyre, Hardy took to Twitter and noted that his “countdown to Arcadia has begun.”

“Still in my #RAW slump, I’m sorry. MORE ATONEMENT APPARENTLY,” Hardy tweeted earlier, followed by another post where he wrote, “I know the slump & losses won’t last forever, my countdown to Arcadia has begun. I will show up & do my job. We’ll get past this together.

“I’ve received so much love, support & sympathy tonight from the most vocal audience. Without you, there’s no me. THANK YOU ALL.”

You can check out the tweets below:

Hardy also “liked” several tweets disapproving of the way he’s been used lately, which you can see below:

Matt Hardy And Reby Hardy Welcome Third Child Together

Matt Hardy and Reby Hardy have reportedly welcomed their third son.

Reby gave birth to the new Hardy baby boy some time last night, according to PWInsider.

As seen below, Matt tweeted around 4:45am ET and wrote what presumably are the initials of the new baby boy. He tweeted, “BKH.”

The happy couple are receiving numerous congratulatory messages from fans and friends on social media.

Matt and Reby already have two sons together, Wolfgang and Maxel.

Matt Hardy Returned To WWE TV Last Night On RAW

Matt Hardy returned to WWE TV last night on RAW. He lost to Buddy Murphy in singles action.

Murphy dominated the match and easily won, which was a setup for his post-match angle with Aleister Black. Murphy called out Black for a fight but Black got the upperhand and sent him packing.

Matt has been out of regular action since brother Jeff Hardy went down with a knee injury after WrestleMania 35, when they were forced to drop the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Matt did work the big 50-Man Battle Royal at WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia this past June.

There’s no word yet on if Matt will be a regular on RAW, but he is still listed on the SmackDown roster as of this writing. This was Matt’s first red brand match of 2019.

Matt took to Twitter after the loss and thanked fans for the support, noting that he is going through a “confusing period of life” these days.

“Thanks for all the love from around the world regarding my #RAW appearance tonight.. I AM GRATEFUL. I’m going through a tough, confusing period of life right now & I appreciate your support,” Matt wrote, also sharing a link to the third episode of his ‘Free The Delete” series on YouTube.
