Jon Moxley Potentially Suffers Concussion At Forbidden Door

New AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley admitted that he was “probably concussed” following his main event match against Hiroshi Tanahashi at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

Moxley closed the show against the New Japan Pro Wrestling star in an entertaining headline match that saw him capture the title, but he was badly busted open during the encounter, visibly bleeding a lot throughout the match. After the show went off the air, the new champion addressed the crowd and confessed, “I don’t know where I am going with this, I am probably concussed.”

This would be a major concern for the company if it was true, as Moxley is currently scheduled to compete inside Blood & Guts on the upcoming episode of “AEW Dynamite” against the Jericho Appreciation Society. If he has suffered a concussion, Moxley would presumably be ruled out of that match, and could be out of action for a longer period depending on the severity, which is not what the company needs right now. AEW is currently dealing with a laundry list of injuries across its roster, which is how Moxley ended up in the main event of Forbidden Door to begin with, as reigning AEW World Champion CM Punk had to be taken off the show due to a foot injury. On top of that, Bryan Danielson is currently out of action with an undisclosed issue, which is why he was replaced at Forbidden Door by the debuting Claudio Castagnoli.

As well as them two, Red Velvet, Scorpio Sky, Lee Johnson, Darius Martin, The Bunny, Kyle O’Reilly, Kenny Omega, and Anthony Bowens are all on the shelf, with Jungle Boy having also been added to that list recently.

During the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match on the PPV, Adam Cole also appeared to be hurt, which led to an abrupt finish for the contest, continuing to stretch Tony Khan’s roster. So far there has been no official confirmation on the situation regarding either Moxley or Cole.

Jon Moxley Returns To AEW, Cuts Passionate Promo On Dynamite

Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite kicked off with a powerful promo from Jon Moxley, who just returned to the company following a stint in rehab.

Jon Moxley is BACK! And he’s got a thirst for blood.

The former AEW Champion made his long-awaited return to AEW on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. It all went down in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, January 19. Mox’s music hit as soon as the show kicked, and the fans went wild. Mox hit the ring, grabbed a mic, and got down to business by dealing with a heckler who yelled some lame insult at Mox. Quick as a flash, Mox told the guy to “go f**k” himself.

Mox then cut a passionate, heartfelt promo. He addressed his demons, celebrated his ongoing recovery, and then put the AEW locker room on notice. “You thought I was dangerous before? These days all I drink is blood!” Mox said. The crowd popped and Mox left the area via the crowd as the opening segment drew to a close.

Later in the night, “All Ego” Ethan Page challenged Moxley to a match at Beach Break which goes down next Wednesday.

Last November, Moxley entered an alcohol treatment program that necessitated a hiatus from the world of wrestling. As a result, Mox was forced to pull out of scheduled appearances with AEW, GCW, and NJPW.

At the time, AEW president Tony Khan took to Twitter to announce that Mox was undergoing treatment for alcohol addiction. “Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program,” Khan tweeted on the evening of Tuesday, November 2. “Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee, and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery,” he added.

Mox’s last match was against Jimmy Jacobs at an indie show on October 30. His last AEW match was a victory over Ten in the first round of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament on October 27.

CM Punk Shouts Out Jon Moxley During Emotional Promo On Dynamite

An emotional tribute from Punk on Dynamite delivered in tandem with an important message.

CM Punk kicked off his promo on Dynamite this week by discussing how much he admires and respects Jon Moxley.

Tony Khan revealed earlier this week that Jon Moxley has entered himself into an alcohol treatment program. Moxley naturally has the full support of AEW, and well wishes for the former World Champion have been pouring in ever since. That includes a heartfelt message from CM Punk live on Dynamite last night.

Punk kicked off his promo by saying he wanted to talk about two people who weren’t in the building for Dynamite last night. The first of those people was Moxley. Punk got the fans chanting his name and admitted he’d be happy for them to keep chanting Moxley throughout the duration of his segment.

The Second City Saint then moved on and said that despite his and Moxley’s differences, he is very proud of his AEW peer right now. Punk speaks about times in his own life when he needed help but he didn’t ask for it because he thought he needed to show the world he is tougher than that. You can watch all but the very beginning of the promo in the clip below.

Punk closes the first half of his promo by telling fans that if they need help, talk to someone. Whether it be a phone call or a text, they don’t need to tough it out. Punk and Moxley are evidence of that. Renee Paquette, Moxley’s wife formerly known as Renee Young when under WWE’s employ, has also reached out since the news broke and thanked everyone for their messages over the past 24 hours.

Moxley will obviously be out of action for an indefinite amount of time, and we wish him all the best in his recovery. On the wrestling side of things, the former AEW Champion was replaced by Miro on Dynamite last night in the World Title Eliminator Tournament. Miro beat Orange Cassidy in the semi-final match and will face Bryan Danielson in the final at Full Gear.

Jon Moxley Enters Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Program

Tony Khan has revealed that former AEW Champion Jon Moxley has entered an inpatient alcohol treatment program.

Jon Moxley has entered an alcohol treatment program.

AEW president Tony Khan took to Twitter to announce that his company’s former Champion is undergoing treatment for alcohol addiction and will be taking a hiatus from wrestling.

Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program,” Khan tweeted on the evening of Tuesday, November 2. “Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee, and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery,” he added.

Khan said that he’s proud to call Moxley his friend and that AEW is fully embracing Mox’s decision to seek help during this difficult time.

I’m also a fan of Mox and look forward to a time in the future when he is eventually ready to return to the ring. Until then, thank you for supporting Jon and respecting his privacy at this time,” tweeted Khan.

Mox’s recovery will take as long as it takes, so of course, we cannot begin to speculate on how long he will be away from the ring. That being said, Mox is currently a participant in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, so it seems TK will have some tough booking decisions to make in the coming days, and he’s not the only one. Moxley is also the current GCW Champion and has been making sporadic appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Wrestlers have been sharing their support for Jon Moxley after it was revealed he has entered into an alcohol treatment program.

While Khan was the first to publicly share his support for Moxley as he was trusted to share the news, he was far from the last. Tweets wishing Moxley well on his journey and showing support for the decision he has made have been flooding in. Doc Gallows, Britt Baker, and Jade Cargill are just a few of the stars who have posted their support in the replies to Khan’s thread.

Renee Paquette Announces The Birth Of Her And Jon Moxley’s First Child

Renee Paquette has revealed she has given birth. Congratulations to her and Jon Moxley on the arrival of their first child.

Shortly after Renee Paquette, better known to many fans as Renee Young, parted ways with WWE, she announced that she was pregnant. Paquette is married to former AEW Champion Jon Moxley and this marks the first child the two of them have had together. In fact, the arrival of the little girl will be both Paquette and Moxley’s first child, together or otherwise.

Paquette has launched her own podcast since leaving WWE named Oral Sessions. In recent weeks, Paquette has shared just how pregnant she is right now, hoping that the baby will come any day now. She even posted evidence on Instagram recently. Well, Paquette wasn’t wrong, as she and Moxley are now officially parents.

Paquette took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to reveal that her daughter has finally arrived. “Baby girl is officially here, so I’m checking out and becoming a mom,” the former announcer tweeted. Paquette added “she’s absolutely incredible” implying all went well with the birth and that the new addition is doing okay. Interestingly, despite previously claiming to have revealed her daughter’s name on the podcast, Paquette refers to her as baby girl, implying she and Moxley are yet to decide on a name.

Other than to let the world know Baby Paquette/Moxley is here, Renee also wanted to let fans know what will be happening to Oral Sessions in the immediate future. Knowing that she would be missing a period of time while she looks after her new arrival, Paquette reveals that she has pre-recorded a bunch of shows with guest hosts. The first is Moxley whose Ask Mox episode is available right now.

WATCH: Jon Moxley Comforts Crowd After Revolution Pyro Mishap

Jon Moxley joked with the Daily’s Place crowd following the disappointing conclusion of AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view.

In case you missed it, the closing moments of AEW Revolution were hindered by a dud explosion.

Moxley had just been defeated by Kenny Omega in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch. Following his win, Omega and his cronies, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, continued to beat Mox down in an attempt to incapacitate him. Their goal was to make sure he couldn’t leave the ring before it exploded.

Omega, Gallows, and Anderson left the ring before the clock reached zero, but Eddie Kingston ran out to assist Moxley. Kingston threw himself on Mox, but when the explosion came, it was nothing but a few pops and some lame sparklers.

Clearly something went wrong, and a thoroughly entertaining pay-per-view ended with a wet fart.

The crowd booed, and when the show went off the air, Mox grabbed a mc and joked about the whole thing.

Moxley put himself and Omega through a glass coffee table with a DDT. You can see a video of it below.

Hager appeared in the ring during a post-match brawl and appeared to align himself with AEW Champion Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana and Ortiz.
