Jim Cornette gives his thoughts on the new WWE TV deals for SmackDown & RAW for the fall of 2019. As reported, RAW is staying on USA Network on Monday nights and SmackDown will move to the FOX Network on Friday night.

Cornette wonders how USA got the RAW (A-Show) and FOX got SmackDown (B-Show) because FOX is bigger than USA. He says SmackDown will be the A-Show.

Cornette questions if SmackDown’s move to FOX will help create stars or pay big money for stars and if there is any need anymore for a big match to promote pay-per-views because of the WWE Network.

Cornette talks about WWE not really needing to sale tickets for the house shows and PPV’s because of all the guaranteed money.

Cornette talks about WWE stars not getting heath insurance and having to pay for their own rental cars.

Jim Cornette On How Much Money WWE Loses With NXT

Image result for Jim Cornette On How Much Money NXT Spends

Jim Cornette was the former lead booker for Ohio Valley Wrestling, WWE’s former developmental promotion, so he has a keen interest in the company’s current developmental territory NXT. On recent episode of The Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette made some revelations about how much money NXT is losing.

Cornette said he was sent the yearly and quarterly reports that are available because the WWE is a publicly-traded company. He revealed that NXT lost way more many than it made in the last two years, a luxury he wishes he had when he was at the helm of OVW.

“NXT in 2016 sold $7 million in tickets and had $20 million in expenses. In 2017, NXT had let’s say $6 million in ticket sales and $25 million in expenses… In all honesty, 2016 they lost $13 million, 2017 they lost $19 million and that’s not a ton of money for that whole company and organization up there. But can you imagine what me and Danny Davis could’ve done with Ohio Valley Wrestling if they said, ‘OK guys, you can bring in anybody that you want that’s not on the main roster or signed to New Japan and you can lose $32 million over the next two years.’ Holy f**k!”

Cornette said OVW never was in that position even though it didn’t generate a lot of money on its own. Still, he believes OVW was successful in its own right and says it was never in a bad monetary situation.

“We already had the highest rated show on the station’s Saturday schedule we were on… We had numerous events that drew large houses at the Gardens and we drew at Six Flags and we produced a ton of talent. I don’t know what the percentages would be but I guarantee we didn’t lose $32 million,” he said. “That’s the thing, Ohio Valley Wrestling never lost money since it’s been in operation. There have been a few years it may not have made much, but at that point in time it was the only full-time company with television running regular events in the United States besides the WWE that was profitable.”

Cornette said he understands the WWE’s need to develop their future superstars, so it’s necessary for them to put a lot of money towards NXT. Still, he thinks the losses are very monumental, so he was surprised by the numbers.

“I understand they’re making the investment in training the future superstars and they have to, they’ve figured out that they have to because they’re not getting them from anywhere else,” he said. “So they have to train their own, but my God!”

Jim Cornette Done With GFW, Backstage News On Why He Was Brought Back And His Departure

Image result for Jim Cornette GFW

As noted, Impact Wrestling announced today that the November 5th Bound For Glory pay-per-view will take place from the Aberdeen Pavilion in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. There will also be TV tapings at the same venue from November 6th through the 10th.

Jim Cornette will not be working Bound For Glory or the TV tapings as he’s now done with the company, according to F4Wonline.com. Cornette has not been to Canada since before 2010 after being turned away at the border due to his record that has arrests from years ago. Cornette says there’s no heat over his departure and that it’s just a matter of circumstances.

Cornette noted to F4Wonline.com that he came to the company after Jeff Jarrett called him in August, to work just one set of TV to help further a few storylines – stripping Alberto El Patron of the World Heavyweight Title, the on-screen firing of Bruce Prichard to set up his return as a heel manager and to try and get Anthem over as babyfaces to wrestling fans. Cornette worked that first set of tapings and then agreed with Jarrett that he would come back to work Bound For Glory, then the November TV tapings.

It was also noted that with Jarrett gone, the current creative team is focusing more on in-ring action and less on authority figure storylines. Sonjay Dutt and Scott D’Amore are currently leading the writing team.

Cornette’s status with the company was up in the air due to Jarrett’s indefinite leave of absence and he had not heard from anyone except Bob Ryder, who told him not to believe what he read online. Cornette also spoke to Dutch Mantell, explaining that he would ont be able to appear at the pay-per-view or the tapings since they were being held in Canada. Cornette agreed to come to Nashville and do whatever he needed to do on camera for his storyline exit but as of now, there are no plans for him.

Jim Cornette On Vince Russo’s Protective Order, Taking Things Too Far, Russo Calling Him A Pill Head

Image result for Jim Cornette On Vince Russo's Protective Order, Why Everything Has Gone Too Far, Table For 3's Role

Today The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling welcomes back to the show our favorite guest of all time, Jim Cornette. Fresh off of being served with a protective order by his longtime nemesis Vince Russo, the leader of the “Cult of Cornette” discusses what this rivalry means to him personally as well as how it has lasted as long as it has. John and Chad also bring up the topics of booking ideas, taking credit for angles and story lines and the inclusion of Eric Bischoff and Bruce Prichard into what seems to be this endless feud. The full episode can be downloaded at this link.

How WWE Network‘s Table For 3 may have been the catalyst for the recent developments between Cornette and Russo:

“When you just say it like that it just sounds so crass. We had a great time doing Table for 3 and it got such great feedback on Twitter, people raved and everybody wanted to see more and petitioned the WWE to see more. The only person that actually didn’t like it was Vince Russo. He kind of got offended (I guess) that as part of the discussion that we had and that Eric Bischoff and I who have never been friendly and it was the first time we had talked face to face in over twenty years bonded over a mutual dislike of Mr. Russo. As that came up and we mentioned that, the WWE was quick to flash that picture up there because I guess they wanted to make that point and he got offended. We exchanged some harsh words in both directions on our podcasts.

“I had said some harsh things that I have expressed remorse about and in fact on my YouTube channel, the statement is up there now and finally when I had said such harsh things about Vince Russo that I was served with a protective order and that he accused me of stalking him for eighteen years, I didn’t realize that I had taken it that far and I had no idea of that. It ordered me to stay away from him, his family, his residence (that I’ve never been to) and his wife (that I haven’t seen in over twenty years) and to never call his phone (that I never called and didn’t have the number to until last week) but I shouldn’t do that and I am not going to do that because after all it is court ordered. I really feel bad and express remorse that I scared the little fella so bad that he would have to go through something like this and it has gone too far. So we will be lighting up on the poor thing and I don’t want to be accused of putting somebody in fear of their life.”

Was there any way to patch things up prior to the protective order:

“He went on his show again and demanded that I come on his show or let him come on my show or go on somebody’s show and say these things to his face on Skype. I took it too far (of course) and said I’d be happy to say these things to your face and whatever happens will happen and lets settle this and that didn’t work out well because I got a protective order. So we aren’t going to be talking face to face or contacting each other at all because that is strictly forbidden so that debate will never happen. But I thought we were starting to work through our issues until that Table for 3.

Bruce Prichard and Eric Bischoff’s feud with Vince Russo heating up:

“Poor Bruce Prichard. I didn’t hear the whole show but I guess Vince got upset because they read significant portions of a book that he wrote on the air and it made him look bad because I guess it was completely different things than what he is saying now but I don’t know. I never read it so I can’t comment. I hope that Bruce certainly doesn’t certainly doesn’t take anything too far like I did. Of course Eric Bischoff. He had mentioned that he doesn’t hate Vince Russo, he just takes him for what he is and I believe that is a ‘pathological liar’ was the quote. But I can’t remember because I saw that second hand.”

Prichard addressing Russo’s claims that he was a “pill head and alcoholic”:

“That basically is saying that Vince was lying about it. When you say that I am afraid now that Vince is going to have to go to court again and get some kind of order against Bruce. You can’t go around calling Vince Russo a liar because he does not take that well. I don’t think we should be smearing his reputation anymore because after all he is a fine, upstanding human being.”

“Apparently, every major wrestling personality in probably the history of the world that he has ever worked with and he’s like the scientists on global warming. 97% of them are so jealous of Vince and so upset about what he’s accomplished that they lie and talk about how crooked and how much of a cheat and a con man and a scoundrel he is. He is going to have to spend a lot of time in court serving all these papers. I wish we would just stop impugning his integrity.”

Jim Cornette Talks His Response To Police When Served With Vince Russo’s Protective Order

jim cornette vince russo protective order restraining order

Jim Cornette released a new YouTube video where he responded to Vince Russo filing an order of protection against him. In the video, Cornette detailed police officers serving him with the document, an EPO out of Posey County, Indiana, at his home.

Cornette joked that he didn’t know what an EPO was, nor did he know the location of Posey County, Indiana. He thought EPO had something to do with environmental protection or hazardous waste until one of the officers asked him if he knew a Vincent Russo. Cornette recalled laughing and joking, calling for his wife, who also thought it was hilarious. The officers informed him the order was filed due to threatening comments made on national podcasts.

“I guess I’m going to have to modify my behavior,” Cornette said in response to being served with the 9-page protective order. “I thought that we were just bros doing podcasts, he always said it was my shtick — I think that was a quote — to knock him, then I did it for downloads and attention and everything. You know, ’cause that’s what my people expected of me and etc. and you wouldn’t take out a protection order over that, you’d be foolish to do that. So I didn’t realize he was taking it so seriously.”

“And obviously the last thing that I would ever do is disobey a court order, I would not do that. And I certify that here right now in public,” Cornette said. “So I’m going to do the things this court order says because a lot of the boxes are checked off… Vince Russo says he’s been a victim of stalking by me. That I threatened to cause physical harm to him that I placed him in fear of physical harm and this would happen not only on national podcasts but that I’ve been doing this — in his own handwriting here — since October of 1999 in five different states.”

Russo and Cornette’s feud goes back decades, with things escalated recently when Cornette claimed on WWE Network‘s Table For 3 episode entitled ‘Creative Committee’ that Russo writes Vince McMahon every week about wanting to go back. A claim Russo emphatically denied on the Wrestling Inc. podcast. This resulted in Cornette challenging Russo to a shoot fight and Russo issuing an ‘apology’. It was learned on Thursday that Russo had filed an order of protection against Jim Cornette.

“So I’m going to stay away from Vince Russo’s house that I’ve never been to,” Cornette said in response. “And his place of employment if we can find it. And I’m going to stay away from his wife Amy, who I haven’t seen since 1997. And I won’t call him on his current phone number that I’ve never called and didn’t have before last week.”

“And most of all, I promise that I would never commit,” Cornette paused and cleared his throat. “Excuse me, hold on, I’m going to read from, I’m actually quoting here. I would never do any of these things I’m prohibited from doing. I would never commit acts of domestic or family violence, stalking or sex offenses against Vince Russo or his household members or any other kind of member that he might have hanging around. Never would I do such a thing. I swear to that.”

Cornette stated that he wants to apologize to Vince Russo for putting him in fear of physical harm. He stated the last thing he wants on his conscious is the thought of Vince Russo lying awake at night sacred of him. Cornette said he didn’t realize what he had done and feels horrible. Cornette thought after Russo’s “apology” that they were making progress. You can watch Cornette’s latest video embedded in the player above. Vince Russo Files Emergency Protective Order Against Jim Cornette

jim cornette vince russo protective order restraining order

Looks like the fight between Vince Russo and Jim Cornette won’t be happening … because Russo has responded in their bitter battle by slapping his arch-nemesis with a restraining order.

Cornette tweeted a photo of the court document, which was filed on Friday, and it shows that Vince claims Jim has been stalking him. His caption said, “Golly, VOLDERMORT just filed a Emergency Protective Order on me. I can’t hang out with him anymore!”

As we previously reported, Cornette recently challenged his former coworker to a brawl on his podcast … with such stipulations as no guns, no knives, no cameras and no publicity.

According to PWInsider, Russo is claiming JC has been stalking him across state lines since 1999. He listed the 6/15 episode of Cornette’s show as an incident of stalking and harassment, due to Jim promising that he had a “gift” for Russo.

PWI also reports Cornette was served at his home in Kentucky and is ordered to stay away from Russo and his wife, as well as their home and VR’s place of employment … wherever that may be.

Jim Cornette Goes On Epic Expletive Filled Rant On Vince Russo & Challenges Him To A Real Fight

Image result for jim cornette experience

Jim Cornette and Vince Russo have hated each other for years, but things heated up again after Jim and Eric Bischoff bashed Russo on a recent episode of Table for 3 — causing all sides to start hurling insults.

Jim Cornette escalated his hate of Vince Russo to a new level when he went on a 10-minute expletive filled rant on his show The Jim Cornette Experience.

Cornette challenged Russo to a real fight. Cornette says he would come to Evansville, Indiana where Russo lives and meet him some place like a park. Cornette explain the rules for the fight – “No cops, no guns, and no knives and we both come alone. And what happens, happens. Nobody makes a dime off of it, nobody gets any publicity off of it, nobody’s even gonna know it’s gonna happen until after it happens when nobody hears from you anymore.”

He also says he’ll bring $5,000 and if Russo can take it from him, he can keep it.

We here at Wrestling News Blog feel that Cornette went to far in the heat of the moment, and should suffer some consequences.
