DDP Hospitalized After Experiencing Atrial Fibrillation

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) recently revealed that he was hospitalized after suffering an episode of atrial fibrillation, a heart condition that causes an irregular and often rapid heartbeat.

DDP shared the news with fans on social media, explaining that the incident occurred while he was working out. He noted that he wasn’t wearing a heart monitor at the time, which made it harder to immediately track what was happening. Doctors later performed a cardioversion procedure — a treatment used to restore a normal heart rhythm.

The 68-year-old legend has long been known for his dedication to health and fitness, especially through his DDP Yoga program, which has helped countless wrestlers and fans alike improve their quality of life. While the episode was certainly a scare, Page seemed upbeat in his update and appears to be on the mend.

Wrestling fans everywhere will no doubt be wishing DDP a speedy recovery.

DDP Confirms Former NWO Member Buff Bagwell Has Entered Rehab

It’s been nearly six months since longtime wrestling veteran Buff Bagwell announced he was moving in with Diamond Dallas Page to live in the “accountability crib” and be part of his “Change or Die” docu-series. Unfortunately, DDP took to his YouTube channel earlier today to reveal that Bagwell has suffered a significant setback on his journey to a drug-free life.

“For the most part, [Bagwell] was doing really well, but a lot of times with addiction, it has everything to do with the people you hang out most with. And when he’s with us, our whole force is about positive reinforcement, a place you can be safe. When he goes outside of that, well, those people, they don’t really care about that, or they think they do, but they really don’t … Now, because of some of the negative influences in Mark’s life, and I’m talking about people who love him and enable him, he’s had a relapse, so we had a meeting with all of my people and Marcus, and we all agreed that it was time for him to go to a rehab facility.”

DDP added that they are uncertain how long Bagwell will be at the rehab facility, but he’s currently in a very positive and receptive mindset. According to DDP, the purpose of creating the video is to offer a reason for Bagwell’s upcoming appearances being canceled. Still, they plan to return to regular meet & greets once Bagwell feels confident enough to leave the facility and begin again on the road of recovery. “It’s a tough place, and I’m really hoping that you guys can help support him when he gets out,” DDP said.

Diamond Dallas Page Makes Surprise Appearance On AEW: Dynamite (VIDEO)

Diamond Dallas Page had Cody Rhodes’ back tonight during a surprise appearance on All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite.

Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle were shown throughout the show in a suite and during an interview segment involving Cody they began to interrupt AEW exec.

Rhodes didn’t budge, however, and told Jericho, “This isn’t like the other wrestling company we came from, this isn’t an invisible wall right here. I could easily step through and I could easily come up there and we can fight right here.”

Jericho attempted to call Cody’s bluff and pointed out how the numbers were on his side.

This prompted Dustin Rhodes, MJF and DDP to come out to make things even. The foursome walked up to the suite, but Inner Circle locked themselves in a room behind a glass door and Jericho began to mock Team Rhodes. Cody was two steps ahead though and wrapped his hand with MJF’s scarf though so he could punch through the door, causing a brawl to breakout.

DDP Praises Ronda Rousey, Calls Becky Lynch A Female Version Of Jake Roberts, Lacey Evans, WrestleMania, Thoughts On AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page Vulture Hound to promote his new “Positively Unstoppable” book. The interview was done before WWE announced the “Winner Takes All” Triple Threat with Becky Lynch, RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair for the WrestleMania 35 main event, but Page said the female Superstars could absolutely be a WrestleMania main event.

Regarding the WrestleMania 35 main event, Page praised Rousey as a top draw, and called Lynch the female version of WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

“Well, I think there’s no bigger draw than Ronda (laughs). I heard her say in an interview one time that everything in her life prepared her for this (wrestling), and Becky can go out there and have a hell of a match with her,” DDP said. “She (Becky) is like a female Jake Roberts. She has all the tools. She’s got an amazing look. Has all the tools in the ring, and she is believable as a son of a b—h, but she can also make her opponent look unbelievable. Ronda’s still finding her way, she’s doing very well, and she’s going to be amazing.

“So I think they can carry it, but they never do one main event at WrestleMania anyway, there is always a couple of them. It’s not all on one match. But when it was Rock vs. Hogan – that was the main event (laughs). When it was Austin and Rock – that was the match. But since then, they’ve spent a lot of time having a couple of featured matches because they have such a big talent pool. But they could absolutely be one of the main events at Mania.”

DDP continued his praise for Rousey. He was one of the few people that went out of their way to tell everyone how Rousey was going to deliver with her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 last year. Page was asked how satisfying it is to see where she is now, and he also revealed that he has been mentoring Lacey Evans.

“She’s a world class athlete. And she didn’t just come in and think, ‘Oh, I think I’ll wrestle now.’ She’s a fan,” DDP said. “So when you grow up a fan and you use the moniker of ‘Rowdy’ that was made famous by Roddy Piper, and Roddy gives you his blessing to use the name, that’s something. So I knew she had all that in her. And again, work ethic at a different level. And I’m really surprised her husband, Travis Browne is not down at the WWE Performance Center, because he loves wrestling too. He’s money. He actually sent me a picture a few months ago of him and Ronda doing DDPY in the ring.

“Her whole Four Horsewomen do the program. They’ll put up videos of them doing DDPY. Those girls at the PC work so hard and I was really excited to see Lacey Evans get the call up to the main roster. We became good friends, and I mentor her, she does the program all the time. I have so much respect for what these girls are doing. The bottom line is after all this time, everything we’ve been doing, it’s finally taking off. There is a quote that I use which says: ‘It’s okay to want to be rich and famous. You just can’t want it first.’ There is a lot of work that goes into being rich and famous. It’s the message that I try to put out there, just put the work in, keep moving forward, and anything is possible.”

DDP is close to All Elite Wrestling Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes and recently appeared in an AEW “Road to Double Or Nothing” episode to talk about the future of the company with other WWE Hall of Famers. Page was also a part of Cody’s entourage for his NWA World Heavyweight Title match against Nick Aldis at All In last year, along with Tommy Dreamer and Glacier. DDP later confirmed in a media interview that he refused to take any money from Cody or The Young Bucks for the All In booking. Speaking in this new interview, Page talked some about AEW and Cody, calling him one of his most favorite people on the planet, when asked what he thinks we can expect from AEW in a year or a few years.

“You know it’s interesting because I did an interview with Cody a little over a year ago, and I just wanted to bring people up to speed with where he was at and what he was doing. Also, I wanted to give him Dusty’s coat, which Dusty gave to me. And it’s really amazing how much his life changed over that one year,” DDP said. “This year, we did it again. I did a motivational Monday on my DDPY app with Cody, and it was pieces of our interview, and it was looking at how much your life can change in one year when you’re owning it. Cody has been around me since he was eight years old, and I don’t mean around like we just say ‘hey, how are you doing?’ I’ve been mentoring him for f–king twenty years. He’s one of my favourite people on the planet. So seeing what they have done, and how it’s all come together over this last year has been amazing. It was so cool to be backstage at ALL IN and watching him talk to the boys before the show and telling them to have fun. He’d hear people out if they had an idea, but he told them how to do it because he had a vision.

“He and I spoke before ALL IN; we talked about how it might be his one chance to do a show like that. Obviously, that’s not the case now. It’s turned into this thing with Tony Khan, and they are doing something that is ridiculously extraordinary. They’ve got their Double or Nothing show, and I think they have another show planned, and they are working on their TV show. I don’t know exactly where that is right now; we help him shoot videos that he needs because our quality is so high. We help him do that, just because he’s my boy. I don’t get involved any more than just being a sounding board for him. I think there is a lot of potential there, but it will all come down to what the TV looks like. The biggest thing for him is the fans, and keeping that one on one relationship, and having that interaction with them. That’s going to be interesting to watch as they move forward because as they get bigger and bigger, then it’s tough to be so relatable. So far, he’s a hundred percent relatable.”

DDP On Cody Rhodes Warning “All In” Talent Not To Go Over On Time, Why He Worked “All In” For Free

Image result for DDP All In

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page spoke with WSVN-TV Entertainment Reporter Chris Van Vliet last week in Los Angeles, which you can watch in the video below. They sent WrestlingINC.com these highlights:

Dusty Rhodes played a major part in the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship match at ALL IN:

“Dusty used to always tell me ‘I got five friends D and every time I count them, you are one of them’ and that meant a lot to me. So when he passed, Cody called me and said Dusty, because he always calls him Dusty and not pops, he said ‘Dusty told me right before he passed that he had five friends and you’re on that list’. I appreciated that because I had heard it, but hearing it from him took it to a different level. So fast forward a year a half later and he’s putting together ALL IN, he really loved that five friends thing. And three guys who couldn’t have been any closer besides me were Ray Lloyd who is Glacier and Tommy Dreamer. He of course threw in his brother-in-law Kevin who he loves dearly and his father-in-law Otis and of course his dog Pharaoh. It was like super special and it was super emotional. We were all looking at each other trying not to cry.”

How Cody convinced him to do a Diamond Cutter during the match:

“When I first heard Cody was doing ALL IN, I told him you know I don’t do Diamond Cutters anymore. I mean, if WWE calls me I’ll f*cking do a Diamond Cutter, but not for an independent wrestling company. I’ve been offered $10,000. I’m not hitting that mat anymore. But for Cody, I told him if you need me for anything, I said I’m there and I wouldn’t charge him nothing. I’m sure plenty of people got paid a lot of money to be there, I took nothing and I won’t take nothing from him.”

Cody warned the wrestlers on the ALL IN card not to go over on time:

“Cody told everybody: Be on time, hit your mark, don’t go over. And those guys had a hell of a match but they could have done half that and still had a hell of a match. Bottom line is Cody put on a memo: you’re not stealing the show, you’re stealing from others.”

The ALL IN crowd was the hottest crowd since 1997:

“Dusty used to always say to me ‘D, I feel so bad for you that didn’t get to work ECW’ because he knows what a fan I am and I would have loved to have done something up there but I was so wrapped in that I couldn’t. But he could and he was like ‘man, you would have loved it’. To me as great as ECW was and as hot as they were, they weren’t any hotter than the ALL IN crowd and it was was f*cking bigger. That crowd was the hottest crowd I’ve seen since 1997. And in 1997 they were ravenous. Every single person in the building. That’s what it was like at ALL IN.”

Diamond Dallas Page Gets Heated During ESPN Interview

Diamond Dallas Page was on The Dan Le Batard show to talk about his recent Hall of Fame induction. Things started off well, but quickly became heated when the subject of real life rivalries came up. It appears they ended the interview early, shortly after Page dropped a few swear words on-air.

Page was initially asked if there were any other names he was going to use while coming up in the business. He said he originally went by “Handsome” Dallas Page, but soon dropped it. Page then talked about going into the WWE Hall of Fame, and said his speech was the best thing he’s ever done. He said the most emotional part of it all was talking about Dusty Rhodes. He credits Dusty and Jake Roberts for his career as a whole.

Page was then asked to do a Dusty Rhodes impression. Page said meeting him was one of the defining moments of his life. He then did a Dusty impression of the first time they met where he said he saw Captain Lou, Jesse Ventura and himself in Page.

The topic of most memorable “beef” came up, and Page said in 1997 he and Macho Man won Feud of The Year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated. He said that feud made his career, and relayed the story he told at the Hall of Fame about a phone message he left with Savage. Page said Savage taking the Diamond Cutter made his career and helped him live his dream. Savage later approached him at a TV taping, and said he listened to the message a couple of time, and played it for his father. Savage said no one ever called him and thanked him like that.

Le Batard said that’s nice, but he wanted to know about real-life feuds. Page had a good laugh at that. Le Batard brought up Ric Flair specifically. Page said he’s about to get on Flair’s jet, and says they get along well now. Le Batard cut Page off, and said how in Flair’s book he wrote “Page’s climb to the top will go down in history as one of the greatest jokes ever perpetrated in our industry. The guy was an average wrestler, and an average talker with a bunch of tattoos that did nothing to win over fans.”

Page then replied. “It was called a little venting. At the time Naitch and I did go through quite a bit of heat with each other.” He said a few weeks after Flair’s retirement, the two made up at a fan convention. Page reached out to him, re-introduced himself and shook his hand so they could start all over.

The host wanted to know how the Scott Steiner feud went down, and who was trying to rip whose eyes out. Page got a little fed up at this point.

“Hey monkey, monkey, yo monkey, who the hell do you think you’re talking to? Monkey, who the hell do you think you’re talking to? I’m Positively Page! You think I’m going to flame your garbage? Asshole! f–k you!”

The hosts laughed hysterically at the first part, seeming to think it was all a joke. Page dropped another F-bomb, and they quickly cut off the segment.

The hosts later came back on and said they were frozen when DDP yelled. They didn’t seem to know whether Page was joking or not. One of the producers, Alison, jumped on and said Page continued yelling about the situation on the phone afterwards with her, and that he just wanted Le Batard to stop talking about it, because “he got what he wanted.” She described him as “maniacal”, but wasn’t entirely sure if he was genuinely mad or not. Le Batard speculated that he was upset, and said the former wrestler should have known better to swear on Disney radio.

They then took a vote on whether Page was actually angry or joking, Alison described him as a “crazy person”, Guillermo said he’s never coming on the show again. Everyone believed he was legitimately angry.

To listen to the interview in its entirety, check out the link below. DDP starts at around the 20:00 mark, and the hosts talk about the fall out of the interview at around 33:00.

Diamond Dallas Page Announced For WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2017

Image result for ddp wwe hall of fame

WWE announced the following:

Diamond Dallas Page to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017Diamond Dallas Page, a world champion-turned-fitness guru, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2017 during WrestleMania 33 Week. The news was first reported by RollingStone.com.

DDP’s journey to the Hall is an unlikely one, to say the least. The Jersey Shore native broke into sports-entertainment in his 30s, starting out as a manager in Verne Gagne’s AWA while still working as a nightclub manager in Florida. Page took his flashy aesthetic from the clubs, coming to the ring clad in leather, studs and diamond-encrusted jewelry, and accompanied by beautiful bombshells he called “Diamond Dolls” on each arm. He backed up his brash look with trash talk on the microphone and cunning intellect in the corner. DDP led Badd Company to the AWA Tag Team Championship before heading to WCW.

Page took charge of the Fabulous Freebirds as Michael “P.S.” Hayes and Jimmy “Jam” Garvin turned from southern rebels to glam rock megastars, leading them to the WCW Tag Team Titles. DDP also guided the early careers of Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Raven before stepping into the ring himself on a full-time basis in 1991. As a 35-year-old rookie, Page’s chances of success seemed slim, but his unmatched work ethic and determination to succeed would pay off in the long run.

Though he found moderate success as a villain in WCW, capturing the company’s Television Championship, he broke out on a worldwide scale after turning down membership in the nWo. DDP found himself an unlikely man of the people, but embraced the love of fans around the world, who continued to be amazed by the seemingly infinite ways Page found to catch his opponents out of nowhere with his signature move, the Diamond Cutter.

DDP skyrocketed into stardom through his rivalry with the nWo and one of its top members, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, taking part in a thrilling series of matches throughout 1997. Page soon became one of WCW’s top heroes, and the man that celebrities like Basketball Hall of Famer Karl Malone and late night television icon Jay Leno wanted to team with when they stepped through the ropes.

Years of hard work finally paid off for DDP at Spring Stampede 1999, when he defeated a trio of wrestling legends – Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and Sting – to capture his first WCW World Championship. Page went on to capture the title on two more occasions before WCW was purchased by WWE in 2001. During his career in WWE, Page tried to show the WWE Universe and some of the squared circle’s most sour Superstars what a positive attitude could do for them. His efforts resulted in a reign as WWE European Champion, which he successfully defended on The Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania.

Yet for all his accomplishments inside the ring, DDP is also a Hall of Fame human being. After stepping away from the squared circle, he dedicated his life toward helping people take control of theirs. He developed DDP Yoga, a fitness program based around the exercises that helped him stay in the ring game for so long. Page also used DDP Yoga to pay back two of his friends and mentors – WWE Hall of Famers Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Razor Ramon – by having the two legends move into his home and work toward getting back into shape.

It is for his accomplishments in and out of the ring that Diamond Dallas Page is more than deserving of induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Diamond Dallas Page Likely To Have Throat Surgery

Diamond Dallas Page has been released from the hospital after being diagnosed a few days ago with Subglottic Tracheitis. DDP will likely have throat surgery on Thursday or Friday.
