Breaking News: Brock Lesnar Flagged By USADA For Potential Doping Violation

Via WWE The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar of a potential policy violation, stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on June 28, 2016, according to a statement released by UFC on Friday afternoon and reported on by ESPN and other news sources
The UFC released the following statement

“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on June 28, 2016. USADA received the testing results from the June 28, 2016 sample collection from the WADA-accredited UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory on the evening of July 14, 2016.
“USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed in close proximity to Lesnar’s bout at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.
“Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward

Brock Lesnar has not performed for WWE since WrestleMania and is not scheduled to return until Sunday, Aug. 21.

Sexy Star Wins Gift Of The Gods Title At Ultima Lucha Dos

On last night’s episode of Lucha Underground – Ultima Lucha Dos part 2, Sexy Star defeated Marty The Moth, Mariposa, Killshot, Daga, Night Claw & Sinestro De La Muerte to win the Gift of the Gods Title – guaranteeing her a shot at the Lucha Underground Championship whenever she wants.

Wrestling News Blog’s Vanessa wrote the following about it on Facebook:

If you pay attention to what I post you know I feel strongly about women getting their chance to shine in the spots world. Whether that be in MMA or professional wrestling. You would also come to find out that one of my favorite wrestling promotions is Lucha Underground because week after week they bring us something new and exciting. Not only that but they let their women shine, putting them in matches with the men, letting them prove that they can be dominate in a man’s world. Tonight they made history. Tonight I witnessed Sexy Star battle 5 other competitors for the gift of the God’s championship. 4 of which were men! But guess what she held her own. Yeah yeah people say wrestling is fake or pre determined but these bumps are real and they’re still human beings in their sacrificing their limbs for our entertainment. Tonight sexy star became the Gifts of the God’s champion guaranteeing her a shot at the world title whenever she wants. Not a separate title but THE title. The only time in the history of professional wrestling we’ve seen something close to this was when Chyna won the IC title but with all due respect this is next level! I applaud Lucha underground for not being afraid to push the envelope and break barriers. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Cody Rhodes Cast In Role On ‘Arrow’ Season Five

Source: Pro Wrestling Sheet

Former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes will be seen on TV again in the near future, but not on a wrestling show … he booked a guest starring role on Arrow.

The announcement was made Saturday by Stephen Amell during a joint appearance between he and Rhodes at the Heroes & Villains FanFest in New Jersey.

No details were given on his role … but Amell said the deal was closed yesterday after an audition Cody recently took part in — which Rhodes hinted about in his first post-WWE statement.

Amell and the wrestler formerly known as Stardust wrestled against each other last year at SummerSlam in one of the most impressive celebrity related matches in WWE history.

Prince Puma Reportedly Turns Down New Lucha Underground Contract

Source: Pro Wrestling Sheet

Prince Puma, aka Ricochet, has reportedly turned down a new contract with Lucha Underground … but it’s still a mystery as to when he’d be allowed to work elsewhere.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Puma was offered a “lucrative deal” to return to the series following Season 3 but recently made a decision to pass on the offer.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed the generous deal was for multiple years — not seasons — but Pro Wrestling Sheet sources were tight lipped on whether Ricochet had accepted the offer or not.

It’s presently not known if or when he is planning to sign with another promotion. It is believed, however, that standard Lucha Underground contracts prevent talents from appearing on TV with another promotion until six months after their last appearance in the Temple airs.

Puma’s final match will reportedly air in Summer 2017.

For now, Ricochet is expected to continue working for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
