Former WWE Star Fabian Aichner (AKA Giovanni Vinci) Debuts On TNA Thursday Night iMPACT!

A familiar face to WWE fans officially resurfaced on Thursday night, as Fabian Aichner made his debut appearance for TNA Wrestling during iMPACT!.

Previously known to WWE audiences as Giovanni Vinci, Aichner appeared immediately following Cedric Alexander’s X-Division Championship victory over Leon Slater. The former Imperium member received a noticeable reaction when his music hit, stepping onto the stage and locking eyes with the newly crowned champion.

The moment quickly made Aichner’s intentions clear — he has his sights set on the X-Division Title.

The debut marks Aichner’s first wrestling appearance since the closing stretch of his WWE run in late 2024. His final matches with the company included a short loss to Apollo Crews on SmackDown and several dark match defeats before ultimately being released.

Despite the rough ending to his WWE tenure, Aichner recently spoke positively about the next phase of his career. In an interview conducted shortly after his release, he admitted the situation initially felt like an opportunity to recharge after years on the road. At the time, he also hinted that he wasn’t rushing back into wrestling immediately — though his surprise TNA debut suggests plans may already have been in motion behind the scenes.

Aichner originally signed with WWE in 2017 after making an impression in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic tournament. During his time with the company, he became best known as part of Imperium alongside Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Alexander Wolfe. He also captured the NXT Tag Team Championships twice during his WWE career.

Now entering TNA’s X-Division scene, Aichner could immediately become one of the brand’s top power-based challengers. A future showdown with Cedric Alexander would present an interesting clash of styles, especially with Alexander coming off a major title victory.

TNA continues adding recognizable names to its roster, and Aichner’s arrival gives the X-Division another experienced veteran with international credibility.

TNA Slammiversary 2026 Set For Afternoon Start To Avoid Direct Clash With AEW Forbidden Door

TNA Wrestling and AEW may both be running major pay-per-view events on June 28, 2026, but fans likely won’t have to choose between the two shows after all.

New details released by Ticketmaster and Boston’s Agganis Arena confirm that this year’s TNA Slammiversary will begin at 3 p.m. ET. The earlier start time creates a significant gap between Slammiversary and AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, which is scheduled to begin later that evening from the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

Forbidden Door is currently set for a 4 p.m. PT start time, meaning the AEW event won’t begin until 7 p.m. ET — giving viewers several hours between the two pay-per-views.

The scheduling setup appears designed to minimize overlap between the promotions, especially considering both events are among the bigger wrestling shows planned for the summer.

TNA originally announced Slammiversary for Boston before AEW revealed the date and location for Forbidden Door 2026. Reports later surfaced that AEW faced challenges locking down a venue and date for the crossover event. Chicago was reportedly considered as the original host city before the company settled on San Jose.

Had Forbidden Door taken place in Chicago, the time difference between the events would have been much smaller, potentially creating a more direct competition for viewers.

Slammiversary remains one of TNA’s flagship annual events and will serve as the company’s next major pay-per-view offering. Meanwhile, AEW still has Double or Nothing coming up later this month before turning its attention toward Forbidden Door in June.

Dark Side Of The Ring Returning For Season 7 With First-Ever Multi-Part TNA Story

VICE TV’s acclaimed wrestling documentary series Dark Side of the Ring is officially coming back this summer, and Season 7 is shaping up to be one of the show’s biggest undertakings yet.

According to details released through Variety, the new season premieres on July 7 and will feature the series’ first-ever three-part documentary focused on TNA Wrestling. The episodes will center around TNA co-founder Jeff Jarrett and explore the company’s early years, including the successes, setbacks, and controversies that defined the promotion during its rise.

Series creators and executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisner described the upcoming season as the most ambitious in the show’s history. They specifically pointed to the TNA project as a major highlight, noting that Jarrett’s personal story of perseverance and redemption serves as the perfect backdrop for examining the promotion’s complicated legacy.

Since debuting in 2019, Dark Side of the Ring has become one of the most talked-about wrestling docuseries ever produced, diving deep into some of the industry’s most controversial and tragic stories through interviews with those directly involved.

Season 7 won’t stop with TNA. The new lineup will also include episodes focused on several notable names and moments from wrestling history, including:

  • The brutal and infamous Samoa Joe vs. Necro Butcher match
  • Former wrestling valet Missy Hyatt
  • One-legged WWE star Zach Gowen
  • WWE legend Big Boss Man
  • “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff
  • Rick Wilson, a former exotic dancer who portrayed “The Renegade”, a generic version of Ultimate Warrior.

Wilson’s story is expected to revisit his time portraying a character heavily inspired by The Ultimate Warrior during his WCW run.

VICE will kick off the season with two back-to-back episodes on premiere night before settling into its regular Tuesday night schedule at 9 PM ET for the remainder of the season.

With a mix of legendary names, controversial moments, and a deep dive into TNA’s turbulent beginnings, Season 7 looks set to continue the series’ reputation for uncovering wrestling’s most fascinating behind-the-scenes stories.

Report: AEW Catches WWE and TNA Off Guard with Forbidden Door Scheduling Move

AEW has stirred up plenty of buzz this week—and not just with fans. A new report suggests that both WWE and TNA Wrestling were left in the dark when Tony Khan’s company made a major announcement regarding Forbidden Door 2026.

It was revealed on Wednesday that this year’s Forbidden Door event will take place on June 28 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The twist? That date just so happens to clash directly with TNA’s Slammiversary, which is set for the same night in Boston, Massachusetts.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, neither WWE nor TNA had any prior warning about AEW’s plans. Both promotions reportedly learned about the scheduling decision at the same time as the public, making the move feel like a surprise shot across the bow.

For TNA, the timing is especially significant. Slammiversary is widely considered one of the promotion’s biggest shows of the year, second only to its flagship events. Naturally, running head-to-head with AEW—particularly on a card as loaded as Forbidden Door—is far from ideal.

Some may have expected WWE to step in and bolster TNA’s lineup in response, especially given their growing working relationship. However, the report indicates WWE was just as blindsided and had no involvement in the decision or any immediate counter-strategy.

Meanwhile, AEW is aiming to make this year’s Forbidden Door the biggest yet. The 2026 edition won’t just feature talent from AEW and NJPW—it’s also set to include stars from CMLL and STARDOM, turning the event into a massive multi-promotional showcase.

Whether intentional or not, AEW has thrown a major wrinkle into the summer wrestling calendar—and all eyes will be on how the competition responds.
