DDP On Cody Rhodes Warning “All In” Talent Not To Go Over On Time, Why He Worked “All In” For Free

Image result for DDP All In

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page spoke with WSVN-TV Entertainment Reporter Chris Van Vliet last week in Los Angeles, which you can watch in the video below. They sent WrestlingINC.com these highlights:

Dusty Rhodes played a major part in the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship match at ALL IN:

“Dusty used to always tell me ‘I got five friends D and every time I count them, you are one of them’ and that meant a lot to me. So when he passed, Cody called me and said Dusty, because he always calls him Dusty and not pops, he said ‘Dusty told me right before he passed that he had five friends and you’re on that list’. I appreciated that because I had heard it, but hearing it from him took it to a different level. So fast forward a year a half later and he’s putting together ALL IN, he really loved that five friends thing. And three guys who couldn’t have been any closer besides me were Ray Lloyd who is Glacier and Tommy Dreamer. He of course threw in his brother-in-law Kevin who he loves dearly and his father-in-law Otis and of course his dog Pharaoh. It was like super special and it was super emotional. We were all looking at each other trying not to cry.”

How Cody convinced him to do a Diamond Cutter during the match:

“When I first heard Cody was doing ALL IN, I told him you know I don’t do Diamond Cutters anymore. I mean, if WWE calls me I’ll f*cking do a Diamond Cutter, but not for an independent wrestling company. I’ve been offered $10,000. I’m not hitting that mat anymore. But for Cody, I told him if you need me for anything, I said I’m there and I wouldn’t charge him nothing. I’m sure plenty of people got paid a lot of money to be there, I took nothing and I won’t take nothing from him.”

Cody warned the wrestlers on the ALL IN card not to go over on time:

“Cody told everybody: Be on time, hit your mark, don’t go over. And those guys had a hell of a match but they could have done half that and still had a hell of a match. Bottom line is Cody put on a memo: you’re not stealing the show, you’re stealing from others.”

The ALL IN crowd was the hottest crowd since 1997:

“Dusty used to always say to me ‘D, I feel so bad for you that didn’t get to work ECW’ because he knows what a fan I am and I would have loved to have done something up there but I was so wrapped in that I couldn’t. But he could and he was like ‘man, you would have loved it’. To me as great as ECW was and as hot as they were, they weren’t any hotter than the ALL IN crowd and it was was f*cking bigger. That crowd was the hottest crowd I’ve seen since 1997. And in 1997 they were ravenous. Every single person in the building. That’s what it was like at ALL IN.”

Fundraising Efforts Underway For Valet Attacked During Match By Male Wrestler (VIDEO)

valet chair head fundraising injured

Wrestlers across Mexico’s lucha libre scene are rallying behind a female valet who was dragged, slapped, and then smashed with a chair during a show last week.

Fundraising efforts are underway to help pay medical costs for La Enigmatica.  During a show Friday for the Revolution promotion in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, she was knocked unconscious outside the ring by a brutal chair shot from a wrestler named Black Skeller.

After the blow, Enigmatica appears to suffer a seizure as fans come out of the crowd and rush to her side.  Skeller initially stays in character before coming to check on her.

There was reportedly no medical staff on-hand for the match.  Enigmatica was eventually taken to a hospital for treatment and was released a couple days later.

Another wrestler, Zafiro, is now trying to raise money to cover her medical costs.  She has proposed auctions and other fundraising initiatives via social media.

Zafiro and others went as far as saying Skeller was intoxicated at the show.  She also called for local officials including the fight commission over that area of Mexico to step in.

Video of the incident can be seen below.

Jose Canseco Signs Pro Wrestling Contract

Former Major League Baseball star Jose Canseco is choosing to pursue a career in professional wrestling. Canseco, 54, has signed a contract with the World Class Revolution promotion, based in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The company was formerly the Imperial Wrestling Revolution when it was founded by Jerry Bostic, before changing its name to World Class Revolution later that year.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Jose into our family that represents equality, diversity, family, and love,” Bostic wrote on Facebook. “Jose is without a doubt one of the greatest athletes professional baseball has ever seen being the first ever 40 home run/40 stolen base athlete in history. He was AL MVP, 6-time All Star, 2-time World Series Champion, and hit an amazing 462 home runs in his career.

“Professional wrestling and our other avenues of business have enabled us to start becoming a multimedia company which has always been our goal. We’re starting to effectively combine pop culture with our wrestling product and we’re seeing great results thus far and we’re just getting started. I would like to personally thank both Jose and his agent Morgan for this opportunity to do business together.”

Canseco played in the MLB from 1985-2001, which most of his time was spent with the Oakland A’s. In 2005, Canseco revealed that he used performance enhancing drugs while playing for the MLB, and that 85% of players used them as well. Following this admission, Canseco wrote a series of books and conducted several interviews on the matter. Canseco has spent most of his career post-2005 playing for independent baseball promotions. He also took a chance at MMA in 2009, but it was a losing effort.

Currently, World Class Revolution features several former WWE talent, including Jim Ross, Rey Mysterio, MVP, Scott Steiner, Ryback, Tatanka, Jack Swagger, Chavo Guerrero, John Morrison, Billy Gunn, Carlito, Alberto El Patron, among others. The WCR Champion is MVP, and the tag team champions are Marshall and Ross Von Erich, sons of legendary World Class Championship Wrestling star Kevin Von Erich.

Former WCW champ David Arquette made his return to the ring on Sunday in Southern California, but the actor was unable to pick-up a win against RJ City.

It all went down at a CWFH TV taping in Port Hueneme after RJ kicked things off by insulting the actor’s friends and family. “King” David Arquette then walked to the ring and the match began.

If you thought David was going to phone it in, you were wrong.

Arquette was on fire in the opening moments and hit his opponent with a vintage Diamond Cutter. He also locked in a Sharpshooter-esque submission and an outside dive from the top rope.

The match ended, however, when David jumped from the top rope and got hit with a knee to the face.

The full match will soon be available on Fite.

David Arquette Makes In-Ring Return At Los Angeles Wrestling Event (VIDEO)

david arquette in ring return cwfh video

Former WCW champ David Arquette‘s recent claim that he’s returning to wrestling seems to be legit, as the actor interfered at a wrestling show on Thursday night.

It all went down at Championship Wrestling From Hollywood‘s “Peter & Ray’s Surprise Birthday Party Spectacular” when Arquette was urged by Peter Avalon and Ray Rosas to enter the ring and hit The Rockness Monsters with Stinger Splashes in the corner.

As you’ll see in the video … Yuma and Kevin Martenson attempted to get their revenge by dragging David back into the ring. The 46-year-old Ready to Rumble star reversed an irish whip attempt, however, then hit them with a double stunner to get a HUGE pop from the fans in attendance.

In case you missed it, David announced his return to wrestling on the Wendy Williams Show.

CM Punk Was Allegedly Backstage During “All In” Press Conference

The rumor mill surrounding CM Punk making an appearance at “All In” is about to go into overdrive … because the ex-WWE champ was apparently backstage during the show’s press conference.

Jenn Sterger — who hosted the conference — spilled the beans during an interview on the latest Collider Bodyslam podcast.

“If you got your tickets at face value for this event, I’m just saying it literally might be the best in the world,” Sterger told the show. “I will only say someone wearing sweatpants and training for something walked into the back of the building that the press conference was in — with marks, mind you, lining the entire sidewalks in the front of the building — and I just kept thinking ‘if they knew you were back here, they would literally tear down the front of the store.’”

The host says CM Punk was allegedly there to pick up shirts from Pro Wrestling Tees, but none of the people involved in the event would confirm or deny if he’d be making an appearance at All In.

With a scheduled signing the day before the event, and the fact he lives in Chicago, Jenn told the show that she thinks it only makes sense for the UFC fighter to be there. Adding, “What better way — if you were going to make your return to wrestling — than the biggest indie show ever?”
