Jon Moxley Enters Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Program

Tony Khan has revealed that former AEW Champion Jon Moxley has entered an inpatient alcohol treatment program.

AEW president Tony Khan took to Twitter to announce that his company’s former Champion is undergoing treatment for alcohol addiction and will be taking a hiatus from wrestling.

“Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program,” Khan tweeted on the evening of Tuesday, November 2. “Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee, and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery,” he added.

Khan said that he’s proud to call Moxley his friend and that AEW is fully embracing Mox’s decision to seek help during this difficult time.

“I’m also a fan of Mox and look forward to a time in the future when he is eventually ready to return to the ring. Until then, thank you for supporting Jon and respecting his privacy at this time,” tweeted Khan.

Mox’s recovery will take as long as it takes, so of course, we cannot begin to speculate on how long he will be away from the ring. That being said, Mox is currently a participant in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, so it seems TK will have some tough booking decisions to make in the coming days, and he’s not the only one. Moxley is also the current GCW Champion and has been making sporadic appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Wrestlers have been sharing their support for Jon Moxley after it was revealed he has entered into an alcohol treatment program.

While Khan was the first to publicly share his support for Moxley as he was trusted to share the news, he was far from the last. Tweets wishing Moxley well on his journey and showing support for the decision he has made have been flooding in. Doc Gallows, Britt Baker, and Jade Cargill are just a few of the stars who have posted their support in the replies to Khan’s thread.

WWE NXT Preview 11/2/21

Tonight’s WWE NXT 2.0 episode on the USA Network will feature fallout from last week’s Halloween Havoc special.

Toxic Attraction is also expected to appear tonight to celebrate last week’s title wins. Mandy Rose captured the NXT Women’s Title from Raquel Gonzalez, while Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles in a Scareway to Hell Ladder Match with Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta, and the former champions, Io Shirai and Zoey Stark.

Backstage News On Plans For AEW’s Battle Of The Belts

This week it was reported that AEW’s first TNT supercard special is scheduled for early January. Battle of The Belts is reportedly the planned name for the event and was trademarked by AEW last January.

“Battle of the Belts” appears to be a throwback to several promotions that have used the name for special events, mainly Championship Wrestling From Florida in the 1980s. The NWA, ECW and FIP have also used “Battle of the Belts” for show names.

AEW and WarnerMedia announced back in May that TNT will air four annual AEW supercard specials beginning in 2022 to coincide with AEW Dynamite moving to TBS. This January event will be the first of the four shows airing next year.

AEW Rampage was also scheduled to move to TBS next year, but plans changed and Rampage will be staying on TNT. The first Dynamite episode on TBS is scheduled for Wednesday, January 5, just three days before the reported supercard event.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the supercard event is expected to be around an hour long. These TNT specials are inspired by the old Clash of the Champions events, which were typically an hour and a half long.

Meltzer also noted that these specials were originally planned to be longer. The idea behind these specials was for PPV-level cards to be on television. Back when these specials were announced in May, it was reported that TNT would be working with Tony Khan on them.

Currently, nothing has been set in stone.

Matt Tremont Remains Hospitalized After Atsushi Onita Deathmatch, Video And Photos From The Match

Indie veteran Matt Tremont remains hospitalized after suffering burns in the Current Blast Double Hell Deathmatch against the legendary Atsushi Onita this past weekend.

Sunday’s Destiny event from H20 Wrestling at Trenton Thunder Ballpark in Trenton, NJ was headlined by Onita defeating Tremont in a match that included fire, light bulb tubes, barbed wire, and more. The finish to the match saw Onita set fire to a barbed wire board, and then hip toss Tremont into the flames. Tremont’s gear was then covered in fire, but they put them out and Onita covered for the pin. Crew members immediately hit the ring with fire extinguishers after the pin.

Tremont is expected to remain hospitalized for up to one week due to burns suffered in the bout, according to PWInsider. It was noted that Tremont was admitted to a burn ward at a New Jersey hospital right after the event, and has been hospitalized since then.

Tremont was said to have been in increasing amounts of pain once the adrenaline from the match wore off, which led to him being taken to the hospital.

Sunday’s Destiny main event was co-promoted by H20 and Onita’s FMW-E match. After the bout was over, Onita embraced a bloody, cut and burned Tremont in the middle of the ring to an ovation from the crowd. Onita then took the mic and declared his love for deathmatches, and promised there will be even more explosions and violence next time.

Onita tweeted after the show and wrote, “Thank you to everyone who came to the venue and to see it at home. I’m proud of Tremont. Despite the spectacular explosion, he stood in the ring. Thank you to all fans for their warm welcome.”

Tremont is scheduled to challenge Rickey Shane Page for the H20 Heavyweight Title later this month at the Last November event on November 27 in Williamstown, NJ.

The Miz Eliminated From ABC’s Dancing With The Stars

WWE Superstar The Miz has been eliminated from ABC’s thirtieth season of Dancing With The Stars.

Monday’s DWTS episode had a Queen-theme. Miz and dance pro Witney Carson first went with a foxtrot to Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga” single, and later performed the jive relay with two other low-scoring couples, to Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” single. They failed to advance as they came up short with a score of 32 out of 40, tied with Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach for the lowest score of the night on the initial performance.

The bottom two couples of the night were Miz and Witney, along with JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson. Team Miz ended up getting the elimination.

The Miz received praise from the judges for most of his DWTS performances, making it to Week 7 of the competition.

Miz has not commented on his elimination as of this writing, but we will keep you updated.

There is no word on when The Miz will return to the WWE RAW storylines, but it should be in the near future. He had been feuding with former tag team partner John Morrison when he was taken off TV for Dancing With The Stars, right before their first match was to take place in the feud. Miz and Morrison were both drafted to stay on RAW.

AJ Styles Reportedly Out Of WWE Action With “Non-Injury Medical Issue”

AJ Styles and Omos lost their RAW Tag Team Titles to RK-Bro at WWE Crown Jewel. Since then, Omos has been at RAW working towards getting the titles back from RK-Bro while also dealing with The Dirty Dawgs and the Street Profits, all with Styles not be his side.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Styles has been out these past few weeks with a “non-injury medical issue”. There were no other details beyond that.

On last night’s episode of RAW, Omos came out during the Street Profits vs. The Dirty Dawgs match. Omos’ distraction was enough to help Ziggler pick up the win for his team. Omos then threw Montez Ford over the barricade. After that, he confronted RAW Tag Champs Riddle and Randy Orton.

Omos has yet to have a match on his own since Crown Jewel, and Styles has rarely been mentioned on TV.

WWE Announces Celebration For 25-Year Anniversary Of The Rock’s Debut

Nov. 17 will mark the 25-year anniversary of The Rock’s WWE debut. The company announced plans to celebrate it “all month long.”

The 25-year anniversary of The Rock’s professional wrestling match debut is coming up, and WWE has plans to honor the sports entertainment legend.

Nov. 17 will mark 25 years since the wrestler-turned-actor debuted for WWE at the Survivor Series 1996 pay-per-view. He debuted under the ring name “Rocky Maivia”, winning a 4-on-4 tag team elimination match by last eliminating Crush and Goldust.

On Monday, WWE announced that they will be celebrating the 25-year anniversary of The Rock’s debut throughout the month of November:

WWE uploaded two videos featuring The Rock on their YouTube channel on Monday. One of them is a montage of all The Rock’s WWE Championship wins, and the other is his singles match against Hall of Famer Kurt Angle on the July 18, 2002 episode of SmackDown. That bout resulted in a disqualification when The Undertaker interruptred and attacked The Rock.

The Rock emerged as one of the two new main event babyfaces of WWE during the Atittude Era, along with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Both wrestlers were instrumental in helping the company defeat the rival WCW promotion in the “Monday Night Wars”. Their respective arrivals came at much-needed times, as WCW was on the verge of putting Vince McMahon and company out of business.

It was previously reported that WWE was hoping to bring in The Rock for Survivor Series 2021, which will run on Nov. 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. However, he will reportedly be occupied filming in Australia during the marquee event.

It’s been more than five and a half years since The Rock last wrestled a WWE match. That took place at WrestleMania 32, where he defeated Erick Rowan via pinfall in just six seconds. The Rock was subsequently surrounded by The Wyatt Family, but John Cena — who was sidelined while recovering from shoulder surgery at the time — showed up to aid his former rival.

WWE RAW Preview 11/1/21

Tonight’s WWE RAW will take place from the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

For what it’s worth, the WWE website has Karrion Kross advertised for tonight’s show. He has been away for a few weeks amid rumors of another change to his character. Bobby Lashley is also advertised, which would be his first appearance since losing to WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg at Crown Jewel.

JONAH (Bronson Reed) Confirms Why He Was Not A Part Of Impact’s Bound For Glory

One of the hottest free agents in pro wrestling JONAH, f.k.a. Bronson Reed, was on a recent episode of The Wrestling Inc. Daily. JONAH has reportedly been in talks with many major promotions. Wrestling Inc. Managing Editor Nick Hausman asked JONAH how the free agency process is faring for him.

“Well, I’m not at liberty to say exactly what’s going to happen, but I am at the moment, this week, getting everything confirmed with immigration, so everything should be good to go, wherever I do go,” JONAH revealed. “But basically, I feel like the last few years exposed me to the rest of the world. People got to see what Bronson Reed had to offer but not really what JONAH had to offer. I was very much set in a mold of what WWE wanted me to be, so going forward, it’s more what I myself want to be as JONAH. So I’m looking to have some pretty cool matches and fun matches, a little different to what I did in WWE.”

The IInspiration recently opened up about how difficult the visa process was for them and how it caused them to miss Slammiversary. JONAH spoke more on his experience with the visa process.

“It’s a complete nightmare,” JONAH admitted. “That’s how it works, but no issues. Everything’s pretty much set in stone now. I have a great set of lawyers, actually, helping me out. As of next week, things should be set in stone for me to be able to work places. I’m not gonna say anything, but I think November, you’ll get to see JONAH around some places.”

There was speculation that JONAH could have shown up at Bound For Glory, and he clarified on whether he was meant to debut at Bound For Glory or not.

“At the moment, it’s everything to do with immigration, so I’m not able, legally, to do anything wrestling wise until all my immigration is sorted, but it should be sorted very soon, and I’m very happy about that,” JONAH expressed.
