Matt Hardy Releases First Episode Of “Free The Delete”

WWE star Matt Hardy is not broken at the moment, but in episode 1 of “Free the Delete” he teases the return of his popular persona.

The video begins with Señor Benjamin digging a grave and burying Matt in his Hardy Boyz gear. The wrestler then crawls out of the grave moments later as Broken Matt.

While getting out of the grave, Matt says via voiceover that he’s unburiable.

The whole thing ends up being a dream, however, and Matt is woken up by his two children. “Sorry guys, I was having a problem getting woken, I mean having a hard time waking up,” he says to Maxel and Wolfgang.

The video ends with Neric of the Seven Deities saying to him: “You have been led astray from your destined path, my child. Find it and seize it. Free the delete.”

Matt Hardy Wants Fans’ Opinions On Gimmick, Says He Has Hard Decisions To Make In Coming Months

Matt Hardy wants to know what the fans think! The WWE star posted tonight a poll on Twitter asking what fans thought of The Ultimate Deletion and his Broken/Woken gimmick. The choices are simple, “YES, it was wonderful” and “NO, it was not wonderful.” The poll so far has over 1,000 votes and 96% picked Yes.

Hardy explained why he wants input from fans, because in the coming months he has some tough decisions to make. He also explained that he wants to spend his last years in the wrestling industry being as creative and productive as possible.

At the moment, Hardy’s gimmick is “you don’t understand how hard it is to be Matt Hardy.”

Matt Hardy’s full quote, “I wish to spend my last few years in the wrestling industry being as creative & productive as possible. I have some hard decisions in the coming months & the wrestling fan’s opinions matter to me. What did you think of The Ultimate Deletion?”

Matt Hardy Indicates End Of His “Woken Hardy” Gimmick, The Hardys Talk WWE Returns And The Usos

As noted, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy reunited as The Hardy Boyz on this week’s WWE SmackDown, their first time teaming up since mid-2018. They defeated The Bar.

Word from within WWE is that the company invoked a clause in their contracts that will see the deals roll over for one more year. The brothers signed a two-year deal back in 2017 for the WrestleMania 33 returns and those deals included a third year option. WWE picked those options up and they reportedly include a significant pay raise for the third year.

Below is video of The Hardys talking to the WWE camera after defeating Sheamus and Cesaro on SmackDown. Matt said the experience was exhilarating.

“I mean, I can say on my end it was absolutely exhilarating,” Matt said when asked about the return. “Any time when we get back together, obviously the first thing I think about is us first chasing our dreams, us first appearing for WWE, and then I think about us returning for WrestleMania 33. And I’m sure Jeff has some major feelings going on as well.

Jeff added, “Oh yeah, to be in North Carolina, Charlotte. We used to come here and watch WWE back in the day as kids. And now to reunite once again, a year later since we’ve teamed. It’s always a powerful thing when we can reconnect and still wow the people.”

The Hardys were last on the RAW brand together but they split up during the 2018 Superstar Shake-up when Jeff was sent to SmackDown. They will be on SmackDown for this run. The WWE cameraman asked them what kind of message they would send to current SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos and that’s when Matt indicated that his “Woken Hardy” gimmick will be put to the side for the time being, at least for the most part.

“I think we sent a very specific, special message today,” Matt said. “And basically that is this – myself, Matt Hardy and The Charismatic Enigma, Jeff Hardy, we are the greatest tag team in all of time and space, and we are back together to prove that, without a shadow of a doubt. Myself, I know the last time people saw me I was ‘Woken Matt Hardy’ and well I have learned how to control the Woken Wonder that’s inside of me, the Broken Brilliance inside of me. And together, everyone’s going to learn that myself and my Brother Nero, Jeff Hardy, we’re unstoppable, we’re indestructible, we’re unkillable. The greatest tag team of all time and space!”

Matt Hardy Comments On WWE Contract Ending Very Soon

Last August, Matt Hardy’s wife, Reby Hardy appeared on Busted Open and spoke about her husband, who was going through a transitional period at the time where he was stepping away from the ring to rehabilitate his back and hip. She also noted his WWE contract would be up in March of this year.

“Matt is good. Matt is right now going through a bit of a transitional period,” Hardy said. “He’s not really sure what he’s going to be doing. His contract is up in March, which I’m not sure many people are aware of. But there’s sort of a decision to be made at this point as to whether or not he should continue his in-ring career or if he should pursue something different, which he would totally be up for and would be excited to do, I feel like.”

Earlier today, Hardy tweeted out photos from 2014 when he held titles in two different indie promotions and wrote how he felt “comfortable” working outside of WWE.

“#TBT 2014 As both the MCW Wrestling & Extreme Rising Champion, whilst working dozens of territories. I’ve always felt comfortable outside of the WWE.”

Hardy would respond to an individual who said that will probably be a tweet he’ll be forced to delete. The WWE Superstar replied it was quite the opposite and noted he has 11 days left on his WWE contract.

“Not a threat at all, just a fact. I have 11 days left on my current deal. I love WWE, but I’m 100% comfortable being outside the walls of pro wrestling’s ‘Alexandria’ Safe-Zone. I’m a born survivalist. My previous tweet will nevah face deletion.”

Last month, Hardy noted he was “physically greenlit” to return to the ring.

Matt Hardy Says He’s Been “Greenlit” To Return To Action

Matt Hardy was on Twitter earlier today and in a response to an individual asking if he had retired, Hardy revealed that he has been physically greenlit and doesn’t plan on retiring anytime soon. Hardy was originally suffering from pain stemming from his lower back and his pelvis fusing together and he used this time away from the ring to rehab the afflicted areas.

Hardy’s last televised match was August 13, 2018, when he and Bray Wyatt lost to “The B Team’s” Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel in a match for the Raw Tag Team Championships. His final match before taking time away to rehab was at a WWE Live Event in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 25, 2018.

Hardy recently had an interview with Akhilesh Gannavarapu from Wrestling Inc. and during the discussion, Hardy explained that he sees himself returning sooner rather than later.

“As far as a timetable of when I’m going to return, I don’t have an exact timetable but I would say sooner than later,” Hardy said. “There is not a set timeline [for me returning]. Whenever I was ‘going home’ there were some issues, some nagging injuries I was dealing with. I had to go home and do some rehabilitation.”

Matt responded to the individual on Twitter with, “No, I am not retired & not going to be retiring anytime soon. I’ve worked my ass off to rehabilitate & have physically been greenlit. My body is in the best shape it’s been in in years & I’m the lightest I’ve been in 20 years.” You can read the full tweet below:

Matt Hardy Discusses How A “Woken” RAW GM Would Work

Image result for Matt Hardy Gives WWE Return Update, Talks His Run w/ Bray Wyatt, More

Matt Hardy has been on the shelf since August while he lets his body heal from over two decades in the ring. He’s dabbled as a backstage producer and did a Halloween special for WWE Network, but Hardy has another WWE role in mind.

Hardy has interest in being the Raw General Manager as “Woken” Matt Hardy. He further talked about his ideas if given that title in an interview with Wrestling Inc.’s Akhilesh Gannavarapu.

“Baron Corbin is obviously a character in the role of abusing his power and putting the good guys in bad situations and taking advantage of it,” Hardy stated.

“I think coming in [as GM], it would be a fresh start considering I would be a good guy in many ways. Woken Matt Hardy in being the character he is, and how over the top he is, I think he would be very entertaining in a General Manager role. I could put guys in unique situations or matches. My interactions with each and every talent would be so unique.

“I think the funnest thing between Broken Matt Hardy and Woken Matt Hardy was the interaction I had with other performers. I think if you have Woken Matt Hardy interacting with the women’s division and all the different athletes of the men’s division, I think there would be so much entertaining tv there.”

The Hardy Boyz really made their name at SummerSlam 2000 when they took part in the first-ever TLC match alongside Edge and Christian and the Dudleys. Matt Hardy reminisced about those early matches and how the impact of them is still evident in WWE today.

“It was the matches that put us on the map and made us Superstars in many ways and it also allowed us the opportunity to go out and do things that had never been done before,” said Matt. “Myself and my brother, when we were doing independent matches before we came to WWE, we used to have a lot of matches against each other where I would be Surge Matt Hardy and he would be Willow the Wisp wearing a mask.”

Matt and Jeff used some of the ideas from those matches and pitched them to WWE. One of those ideas was that of a ladder match and Matt said Edge and Christian would make great opponents because of their athleticism and the chemistry between the two teams.

Soon after, the Dudleys were added and history was made.

“We integrated the Dudley Boyz and tables and that’s where all of the TLC insanity began. To me, being one of the forefathers that started that movement, it’s very cool that TLC is now a pay-per-view and a staple of WWE history. It’s cool to be a performer that created something that became a mainstay in WWE,” Matt said.

Matt also discussed the WWE tryouts that are heading to India next year and said he wished he had that opportunity when first starting out.

“I think it’s a great opportunity for anyone that’s an inspiring WWE Superstar,” said Matt. “When Jeff and I first started, we didn’t have an opportunity to go somewhere and get in front of WWE management. We were driving up and down the east coast and networking and hoping to catch a break one day.”

Matt noted how aspiring wrestlers can go sign up at WWE’s Performance Center website in order to get an opportunity in front of the people in charge at WWE.

“If they see something special, something that stands out or the “it” factor, it could gain you the chance to become a WWE Superstar and that’s a golden opportunity and one I wouldn’t pass up,” stated Matt.

Matt Hardy spoke with Cultura Colectiva while in Mexico for the recent WWE promotional tour he was on. Hardy was there to promote the December 1 WWE live event in Mexico City, which will feature Superstars from both brands after originally announced as a RAW event.

Hardy, who has been out of action for a few months while he deals with some health issues, revealed that he and brother Jeff Hardy will be teaming up again in Mexico.

Hardy said the following before Roman Reigns took time off to battle leukemia, “It’s going to be earth-shattering! It’s the only live event we’re doing all year and all the top stars of both brands will be there: Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Ronda Rousey, AJ Styles, me, my brother—everybody! I’m in fact gonna petition to have a Hardy Boys tag-team match even though we’re on different brands. I’m excited for this, man.”

Hardy also gave a preview of the House Hardy Halloween special that airs after WWE Evolution on the WWE Network and revealed that his role will be difference once he does return to WWE TV.

“Yes, on the WWE Network there’s gonna be a regular series featuring Woken/Broken Matt Hardy and my family, which will be entitled House Hardy—the first episode is going to air right around Halloween,” Hardy said. “It’s going to be incredibly entertaining! I’m looking forward to that. On the other hand, when I come back to WWE TV, my role is going to be altered a little bit (it won’t be 100% Broken/Woken Hardy.) So, I get to have the best of both worlds.”

Hardy spoke more about his return to WWE TV and how his character will be a bit different. Hardy said “Woken Matt” will live on with the WWE Network.

“It’s not 100% decided what I’ll end up doing once I return to WWE TV, that hasn’t been finalized yet. But I’m pretty sure we’ll take a tangent from the Woken/Broken Matt Hardy persona,” Hardy said. “That persona will definitely live on at the Network, and it might come back out on TV. I feel like when I return to WWE TV it’s gonna be—have you ever seen The Incredible Hulk when Bruce Banner got angry and turned into this green monster?—well, I feel you’re gonna have Matt Hardy and then there’ll be something that causes Matt Hardy to transform into Woken or Broken Matt Hardy.”

“Woken” Matt Hardy recently teased guests coming to his compound in the near future and Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned it’s because WWE is planning to film a pilot there for a Hardy special.

As you may recall, WWE recently surveyed fans about potential WWE Network shows in the works and one of them was House Hardy: Halloween special.

The show’s premise stated: “Go inside the WONDERFUL world of the Hardy family in this delightful short form scripted sitcom, featuring Matt and Jeff Hardy!”

While details are still scarce, we’re told the concept is scheduled to film in early October and is only a pilot at this point — not a greenlit series.

Matt tweeted on Sunday saying, “#SenorBenjamin, I need you to prepare The Dome of DELETION & The Hardy Compound for…. CELEBRATION! #HouseHardy is expecting guests in the near future.. And also prepare the Battlefield for MASSACRE.. if needed. The #BROKEN Universe is ALIVE.. YEEAAAAAASSSSSS!!!”

“Woken” Matt Hardy Declares That You Will Likely Never See Him In A WWE Ring Again

Image result for "Woken" Matt Hardy Time To Go Home

WWE.com posted the following:

“Woken” Matt Hardy had an exclusive message for his Woken Warriors early Sunday morning, revealing that it was time for him to go home.

Incredibly reflective, Hardy spoke about his entire journey, including recent peaks and what his time with the WWE Universe has meant to him. However, the 2018 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Winner then announced that the match he had just had in Corpus Christi on Saturday night was, more than likely, the last time we would ever see “Woken” Matt Hardy in a WWE ring.

Reby Hardy Says “Decision To Be Made” On Woken Matt’s In-Ring Future (VIDEO)

Reby Hardy revealed husband Matt Hardy’s WWE contract is up in March, and he’ll likely need to decide soon whether to keep wrestling or hang it up.

Hardy spoke with the Busted Open crew over the weekend about her husband’s current status. As you may have noticed, Matt tweeted a photo of himself working backstage at SummerSlam, which you can see above.

Reby called his current status a “transitional” period.

“He’s not really sure what he going to be doing,” she said. “His contract is up in March, which I’m not sure many people are aware of, but there’s sort of a decision to be made at this point as to whether or not he should continue his in-ring career or if he should pursue something different.”

Reby made it clear Matt isn’t upset about the pending transition, saying he’d be “totally up for it.”

“[He] would be excited to do [it], I feel like, so he’s kind of giving it a go right now backstage. He’s at Summerslam. He’s not on the card but he’s there, and we’re kind of going to see from here,” she added. “It’s really a transitional time right now.”

Last week, Hardy tweeted a goodbye message to former tag team partner Bray Wyatt. He’s also been pretty sentimental on social media posting pictures from throughout his career.
