Backstage News On WWE Ignoring SmackDown Live’s Pre-Show Win

Last night at Survivor Series, RAW dominated SmackDown Live on the main card, with the red brand picking up all six wins. WWE kept telling the fans that RAW had won all the inter-promotional matches, which surprised quite a few people as WWE said SmackDown Live’s victory on the pre-show did not count for the tally. This led to a few SmackDown Live Superstars such as Xavier Woods taking to Twitter to remind the officials that the blue brand had picked up a win, and to respect the tag team divisions on both brands.

During the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed the reason why WWE did not acknowledge SmackDown Live’s win.

Meltzer noted that the storyline called for RAW to have a clean sweep at Survivor Series. Something was lost in the communication process, which led to SmackDown Live accidentally getting booked to win the pre-show match. This led to the announcers ignoring the results of the pre-show, and focusing only on the matches on the main card.

RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair – Winner: Ronda Rousey by DQ

After the bell, Flair sends Rousey into the steel steps. The referee checks on Rousey but Flair comes over and unloads with several kendo stick shots. Flair brings Rousey back into the ring and unloads with the kendo stick. Flair brings a steel chair into the ring but the referee stops her to some boos. The referee yells at Flair to get out of the ring. Flair returns to the ring and drops Rousey on the chair with a Natural Selection. Referees corner Flair now to try and restore order. She drops them all. Flair places the chair around Rousey’s neck and stalks her as referees warn her. Flair drops more officials and stomps on the chair. Rousey gasps for air. Producers Adam Pearce and Jamie Noble rush the ring with trainers. Flair finally backs off as a “thank you Charlotte” chant starts up. Flair looks to finally leave as a bloody Rousey is helped up. We go to replays. Rousey is still down and out of it as trainers check on her. Flair heads to the back. Rousey finally gets to her feet and leaves the ring with the title as another “Becky!” chant starts up. Rousey limps up the ramp and tells officials she doesn’t want any help. Rousey stops and looks back at the crowd as the boos pick up. Rousey heads to the back. (WrestlingINC)

Enzo Amore Crashes WWE Survivor Series PPV (Photos and Video)

Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore crashed tonight’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

As seen below, Enzo was sitting near the front row during the first part of the pay-per-view, trying his best to stay hidden. As news about his trick spread on social media, Enzo revealed himself during the match between RAW Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bar. WWE officials knew he was there and he was given the boot by security.

We noted earlier this week how Enzo spoke with TMZ and told fans to “keep your eyes peeled” this weekend as he was in Los Angeles. He then plugged a concert he’s doing in LA on Monday night but no one imagined he would have bought a ticket to the pay-per-view.

Daniel Bryan Turns Heel, Wins WWE Championship

In a surprise end to SmackDown Live this week, Daniel Bryan defeated AJ Styles for the WWE Championship and will go on to face Brock Lesnar on Sunday at Survivor Series.

SmackDown kicked off with Styles cutting a promo about Lesnar. He was then interrupted by Paul Heyman and later Daniel Bryan. The two wrestlers ended the segment brawling and shortly after a main event title match was confirmed on commentary.

The match took place later in the night and ended after Daniel seemingly turned heel by hitting Styles with a low blow while the ref was knocked out to help him get the win.

After the match was over, he continued his attack on Styles.

Because Daniel is champion, he’s now been confirmed for the champion vs. champion match against Brock Lesnar on Sunday at Survivor Series — similar to last year when Styles defeated Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship.

Becky Lynch Out Of Survivor Series

WWE announced that SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch suffered a broken face and a severe concussion during SmackDown women’s invasion angle on Monday night’s RAW. Last night on SmackDown Live, WWE aired a replay from the brawl that singled out Nia Jax for the shot that caused the injuries.

In a segment last night on SmackDown Live, Becky Lynch got to pick her replacement to face RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series. Becky Chose Charlotte Flair.
