WWE has announced via a press release that Rock N’ Roll icon Joan Jett will be performing at WrestleMania 35. The Hall of Famer will be doing a live rendition of Bad Reputation, a song Ronda Rousey uses as her theme music.
“The Queen of Rock N’ Roll, Joan Jett, is a music legend and icon for powerful women everywhere.” stated SVP and General Manager of WWE Music Group Neil Lawi.”Her performance at this year’s WrestleMania promises to be both exhilarating and inspiring, and we are honored to watch her join a distinct list of extraordinary performers who have lit up the WWE stage.”
Ronda has been using Bad Reputation as her entrance since she started MMA. It became a rallying cry while she became the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.
Founder of the Runaways, Joan Jett has entertained many for over 40 years with her songs, “I Hate Myself for Loving You” and “I love Rock ‘N Roll”. She is not the first artist to perform a superstar’s entrance. She joins Snoop Dogg, Motorhead, Rev Theory, Limp Bizkit and Mark Crozer among others.
Ronda Rousey is set to defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in the main event of WrestleMania 35. The event takes place April 7th inside MetLife Stadium.
WWE has confirmed that the RAW Women’s Title Triple Threat between champion Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair will be the main event of WrestleMania 35.
Below is the full announcement on the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event:
WrestleMania to feature first-ever women’s main event
For the first time in WWE history, a women’s match will be the main event of WrestleMania as the Raw Women’s Championship Match featuring Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch will take place on Sunday, April 7, in front of a capacity crowd at MetLife Stadium and streaming live on WWE Network around the world.
Ronda Rousey is the current Raw Women’s Champion, Olympic medalist, the first female UFC Champion and the first woman to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. She is also an actress and New York Times bestselling author. Charlotte Flair is a seven-time Champion in WWE, a former Division 1 volleyball player, philanthropist and author. She is the daughter of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Becky Lynch is the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble winner, a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion and was named Wrestler of the Year by both Sports Illustrated and CBS Sports in 2018. She was also the first woman ever to top ESPN’s WWE Power Rankings.
At WrestleMania 32 in 2016, WWE re-branded the Divas Division the Women’s Division and unveiled a new Women’s Championship title. Since that time, the women’s evolution has placed a greater spotlight on WWE’s female Superstars, including more prominent storylines and deeper character development that showcases their athleticism, charisma and star power.
Last October, WWE held it’s first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event, Evolution, in front of a sold-crowd and millions more watching on WWE Network.
Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey responds to the historic news:
It’s been my…it’s been OUR goal to main event #WrestleMania. It was never just talk, it was the hard work of every woman past, present, and future to get us here. We won’t let you down. 13 days. #HERstory#Evolution 👸🏼
I came. I saw. I changed the game. Three women are going to headline #Wrestlemania this year. • I won’t hold my breath expecting any thank yous, but you’re all welcome anyway. 😎 #MRSwrestlemania •https://t.co/k4IrxSiFbX
Triple H took to Twitter today and congratulated Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey on earning the main event of WrestleMania 35.
He wrote, “The main event of #WrestleMania… For all the dreams, the hopes, the struggles, the work. Where they belong. Where they deserve to be. Congratulations. #EarnedNotGiven”
The Twitter feud between Becky Lynch and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey continued this week as they prepare to do battle with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35. As seen below, Becky fired a shot at Rousey and then called her a fragile fraud.
Becky wrote, “You thought you had this business all figured after giving me a few smacks on RAW, didn’t you? Delighted u were; couldn’t shut you up. Now look you’re back to being a fragile fraud. Bring all your smacks to WM, Ronnie, because where u wilt after a beating, I absolutely flourish.”
It’s no secret that WWE has made several changes to the storyline that will end with Becky Lynchvs. Charlotte Flair vs. RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35 next month. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there are more twists to come in the storyline.
There’s no word yet on what kind of twists WWE has planned but things should really heat up after Sunday’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view when the Triple Threat is made official. Fastlane will feature Lynch vs. Flair in singles action. Lynch will be added to Flair vs. Rousey at WrestleManiato make it a Triple Threat if she wins, but she will be “done” if she loses, according to Stephanie McMahon.
WWE could go a few different ways with the finish to the WrestleMania Triple Threat but the result largely depends on Rousey’s final date with WWE, according to the Observer. As we reported earlier this week, Rousey is currently scheduled to finish up the day after WrestleMania, indicating a big blow-off at WrestleMania or possibly RAW. It’s always possible that Vince McMahon talks Rousey into a contract extension, but we’ve heard nothing on that direction.
The Observer points to how all three Superstars have tried hard to make their physical angles look legit and more real than what we usually see in WWE. We noted before that Rousey wanted Lynch to hit her as hard as she could with the kendo stick during their angle at the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Becky did just that and Ronda needed 7 stitches to close a cut on her elbow. Flair was also left with a bunch of bruises on her arm from the Chamber attack. Rousey also asked Flair to hit her as hard as he could, over and over, when recently taking kendo stick shots from her. Rousey wanted to have real welts, bruises and blood from the attack.
Regarding the attack from Rousey to Lynch on this week’s RAW, Rousey was told to do everything she would do in a real fight at real fight intensity, but no punches or kicks to Becky’s face, and obviously not to actually hurt her. There was still a stiff knee to the face. The idea was that Becky would take Rousey’s best punishment and still show up at SmackDown the next day to fight with Flair.
The physicality of things may have actually secured Lynch’s spot in the WrestleMania storyline as The Observer points to how Lynch getting injured by Nia Jax back in mid-November could have been the greatest thing that has happened to her, at least in terms of the RAW Women’s Title. Lynch was scheduled to lose to Rousey’s armbar in their Survivor Series pay-per-view match that was nixed due to the injury, which would have greatly reduced Lynch’s chances of being in the RAW Women’s Title match at WrestleMania.
Ronda Rousey is mad as hell and she’s not going to take it anymore.
In latest episode of Rousey’s video blog road diary, Ronda on the Road, the Raw women’s champion’s cuts a promo on going off script this past Monday. Rousey claims to not only go off script but also doubles down on breaking kayfabe in her promo.
“It wasn’t a promo. [WWE] gave me other things to say I didn’t f***ing say it,” Rousey said. “It’s not a promo. It’s not an act. I’m not going out there and doing their f***ing act anymore, I’m going out there and doing whatever the hell I want. And they can explain it however they want, but f***em. Everybody. WWE Universe included. I meant that I’m going to disrespect the sport that they all love so much. ‘Ohhhh don’t break kayfabe Ronda!’ Wrestling is scripted. It’s made up. It’s not real. None of those b****** can f***ing touch me. The end.”
The origins of this video date back to last week, when Rousey and Lynch went to war on Twitter. During that particular exchange, Rousey brought up the word ‘fake’ and it did not sit well with Lynch.
Not only did Rousey go off on wrestling fans and WWE, earlier in the video she admitted she hasn’t lost sight of Becky Lynch. Rousey brought up Lynch’s real name and then explained why she attacked her on Monday night.
“Becky pissed me off the most recently,” Rousey said. “You know what? I’m not going to even call her Becky. Rebecca Quinn talked s*** about my husband, and I told her I’d beat the f*** out of her next time I saw her. And guess what I beat the f*** out of her, didn’t I? It’s been building up in me since Survivor Series, 100%”
Becky Lynch takes on Charlotte Flair this Sunday at Fastlane. Rousey is advertised to appear at the event.
Stephanie McMahon announced that they are dropping all charges against Becky Lynch and her 60 day suspension has been lifted and that she would face Charlotte Flair at Sunday’s Fastlane for the vacated RAW Women’s Championship. Becky has to sign a Hold Harmless agreement.
Later at the end of the night, Becky signed the agreement and Ronda Rousey showed up and said she didn’t vacate the title she just wanted WWE to do the right thing. Stephanie gave Ronda back her title. Stephanie said Becky will still face Charlotte at Fastlane and if “The Man” beats Charlotte she will be added to the WrestleMania RAW Women’s Championship match with Ronda and Charlotte.
Stephanie McMahon says that “Ronda is going to get what’s coming to her” after The Baddest Woman on the Planet’s actions on RAW.
Also last night, The Shield reunited after Dean Ambrose who at first told Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns no, came back to the ring to help them after being attacked by Barron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley.
At Fastlane The Shield will Face, Corbin, McIntyre and Lashley.
Triple H responds to “The Animal” Batista’s vicious assault on two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

It sounds like Becky Lynch and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey could be facing some backstage heat for their Twitter feud.
Rousey fired back at a tweet today and made a comment about Lynch wanting to have male genitalia. Lynch responded to that line and took a shot at Rousey’s husband Travis Browne, by photoshopping his face onto a picture.
The exchange began when Rousey knocked Lynch for posting the fake mugshot photos to sell her “arrest” on Monday’s RAW in Atlanta. Rousey told Lynch to keep the “f-word” out of her mouth, fake, and to focus on getting better at pro wrestling.
Rousey ended today’s exchange by sending a warning. She wrote, “Rebecca Quin, I don’t care what the script says, I’m beating the living s–t out of you the next time I see you.”
It’s believed that the Lynch vs. Rousey feud will lead to a WrestleMania 35 Triple Threat with Lynch, Rousey and Charlotte Flair. Flair is showing up to Monday’s RAW and the storyline is that she hopes to be crowned champion after Rousey laid the title down this past Monday, in an attempt to force WWE officials to “reinstate” Lynch from her storyline suspension, so they can have their singles match at WrestleMania.
You can see the full exchange between Lynch and Rousey below:
That’s what I’m trying to do dumbass. You hobbling around trying to be a ginger crutch ninja and taking fake prison photos in the hallway isn’t helping
F word? You mean “fake”? Fake like your non sensical BS “armbar” that doesn’t even work and just looks like you’re holding the dick you wish you had? pic.twitter.com/dr6OklYces
While WWE is always looking to bring attention to storylines with the help of social media, @Wrestlevotes reports that WWE officials are not thrilled with some of the wording used by Rousey and Lynch. It was also noted that the “word for word” language used today was not approved by WWE officials.
Lynch changed the description on her Twitter to read, “Ronnie’s shook. Vince is shook. Charlotte is a dope. And shook.”
On a related note, Rusev took to Twitter this evening and took a swipe at the RAW Women’s Champion. He wrote, “Ronda Rousey is like Charles Barkley …. not a role model.”
“The Man” does not let anyone tell her where she can and cannot be.
The on-going feud between Becky Lynch and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey went up a few notches on tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW. Becky Lynch who was “suspended” for 60 days by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, showed up on RAW during Ronda Rousey and Natalya’s tag team match against The Riott Squad and Becky took a swing at everyone in sight.
Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey brawled all over the ringside area until they were separated by WWE officials and the Atlanta Police Department. The ATL P.D. got a hold of Becky and dragged her up the entrance ramp and restrained her via handcuffs.
After all of the chaos calmed calmed down, Ronda Rousey made her way back to the ring and called upon Vince McMahon to insert Becky Lynch back into the RAW Women’s Title match at WrestleMania 35. This led to Stephanie McMahon coming down to the ring and letting Ronda know that the match that is set in stone for WresteMania is herself versus Charlotte Flair. Ronda was not pleased with that answer and demanded that both Becky and Charlotte be her WrestleMania opponents and as Stephanie McMahon made it clear she was not budging, Ronda dropped the RAW Women’s Title in the middle of the ring.
The Bella Twins will not be participating in the next season of WWE’s Total Divas, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.
Word is that Nikki Bella and Brie Bella will be removed from the Total Divas cast so they can focus on their own show, Total Bellas. The Bellas reportedly made the decision to step away from Total Bellas, for the time being, at the end of last season.
Total Divas producers were able to land RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for season 9, to help fill the void, according to Squared Circle Sirens. Sonya Deville has also confirmed her role on the ninth season, as noted before.
The cast for season 9 of Total Divas will be Rousey, Deville, Carmella, Natalya, Naomi and Nia Jax. Stars who will not be returning to Total Divas are The Bella Twins, Paige, Rusev and Lana.
According to Sports Illustrated, sources close to WWE have said the current plan is to have WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch be the main event of WrestleMania 35. WWE’s biggest show of the year will go down on April 7 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The SI news does conflict with a report from two days ago on Wrestling Observer Radio that said the match would eventually become a triple threat with the addition of Charlotte somewhere down the line. Dave Meltzer did note the match could always be changed.
The only other announced match so far for WrestleMania 35 is WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar taking on Seth Rollins. Rollins won the Men’s Royal Rumble and chose Lesnar as his upcoming opponent.
Lynch replaced an injured Lana at #28 in the Women’s Royal Rumble match this past Sunday after losing a WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match to Asuka earlier in the night. Lynch would last eliminate Charlotte from the Rumble to guarantee herself a Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 35.
Earlier this week on RAW, Lynch made an appearance and announced her opponent would be Rousey.
