Roman Reigns Appears On 'Good Morning America'

In addition to appearing on Monday night’s episode of WWE RAW at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, Roman Reigns flew to New York City to appear on ABC’s “Good Morning America” talk show on Tuesday morning.

Reigns spoke with Robin Roberts for a sit-down interview to talk about how his leukemia is in remission, and that he intends on using his reach as a WWE Superstar to help others who have, or are suffering with a similar condition.

“We’re not just gonna talk about it.” Reigns said on the show. He also noted that he and WWE are in the process of creating funds and foundations to help make a difference.

Roman Reigns made his WWE return on last night’s RAW in Atlanta, his first appearance since announcing his second battle with leukemia and relinquishing the WWE Universal Title back in late October 2018.

Reigns opened the show to a major pop and announced that he is now in remission and that he is back.

Later in the show Reigns and Seth Rollins came to the rescue of Dean Ambrose who was getting beat down by Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Elias.

Roman Reigns To Make Big Announcement On ABC’s GMA?

Roman Reigns / WWE Update

New promotional material for Roman Reigns’ appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America tomorrow notes that Reigns will be there to make “an announcement you can’t miss.”

Another promo for the appearance on GMA, seen below, says Reigns will go one-on-one with host Robin Roberts.

There’s no word yet on what that announcement will be but Reigns will return to WWE TV on tonight’s RAW from Atlanta to give an update on his battle with leukemia. Reigns has been away from WWE since announcing the diagnosis and relinquishing the WWE Universal Title back in October 2018.

There’s been speculation on a WWE ring return for Reigns after comments made by a personal trainer who recently worked with Reigns while he was in Hawaii. The trainer, Dave Gonyea, first noted that he had been helping Reigns prepare for his “in-ring return” while at the Island Club & Spa in the Waikiki area of Honolulu. Gonyea posted the photo below and told fans to tune into tonight’s RAW for more on the “in-ring return.”

Gonyea posted another comment to fans over the weekend and said Reigns is still recovering. He wrote, “Nah man he’s still recovering. He won’t be in action for another few months… keep in mind what leukemia is… and that he has been in remission this was a flair up that he needed treatment for. I was working out with him and he was definitely moving slow. It’s the PG era they aren’t working cancer.”

Stay tuned for updates on Reigns’ status.

What will Reigns have to say to the WWE Universe, more than four months after his last appearance on the red brand?

Backstage News On Roman Reigns Announcement, When Vince McMahon Found Out, What People Were Told

As noted, very few – if any – of the talent knew that Roman Reigns was battling leukemia again before he made his announcement on RAW this past Monday night. The leukemia had been in remission since late 2008. Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that few people in the company knew that he had ever battled the disease.

According to The Observer, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were not even told about Reigns’ diagnosis. An hour before the show a few people, including Rollins and Ambrose, were told that Reigns would vacate the WWE Universal Championship to open up the show, but weren’t told why and that it would be explained his his promo. Reigns reportedly told Rollins and Ambrose to be ready to meet him after his promo was done, but they weren’t told what the promo would be about. Michael Cole also knew that Reigns would be vacating the title to open the show, but it’s believed he didn’t know why. It’s not known if he told Corey Graves and Renee Young beforehand as well.

Meltzer reported that Reigns was in a bus all day before the show, which he had requested. Vince McMahon wasn’t at RAW, but was working throughout the day to prepare people who had to know about Reigns’ announcement without providing specifics. McMahon reportedly first found out about Reigns’ diagnosis before the weekend, on Thursday night, October 18th. Reigns missed last weekend’s live events, but there was never a reason given why.

Triple H ran Monday’s RAW and produced the announcers, although Vince was in constant contact with him. In addition to Triple H, it’s believed that Kevin Dunn, Mark Carrano in talent relations and writers Dave Kapoor and Ed Koskey knew what the promo would be about. Stephanie McMahon and Michael Hayes were not at the show either.

The creative team was told that Reigns was vacating the title and there would be changes to the show. As noted, Dean Ambrose turning heel was always the plan, however it was changed to happen on Monday’s show because they felt it would be more effective there instead of continuing with the originally planned storyline.

Backstage News On Dean Ambrose’s Heel Turn, Who Knew About Roman Reigns’ Announcement, More

Regarding Roman Reigns announcing his battle with leukemia on Monday’s WWE RAW, PWInsider reports that 99% of those in the company h ad no idea what Reigns was going to announce before he went out to the ring. The upper-level officials in the company, likely the McMahon family’s inner circle and Talent Relations, were the only ones who knew before the announcement was made on Monday that Reigns was ill, along with members of Reigns’ family. The announcers were not clued in to what the announcement was before it was made.

On a related note, Vince McMahon was not in attendance for Monday’s RAW.

Reigns taking time off and dropping the WWE Universal Title obviously changed some creative plans. PWInsider adds that most plans for the WrestleMania 35 main event picture are now “out the window” but as noted recently, the main event was not locked in. Reigns was still expected to be a part of one of the top matches.

Reigns’ announcement did not push up the heel turn by new RAW Tag Team Champion Dean Ambrose. That turn was planned for the future but officials decided to pull the trigger early. PWInsider adds that this was not a creative plan made at the last minute due to Reigns’ announcement but the turn was moved up.

Jon Bravo Releases Hyped Steroid Video Featuring ZERO EVIDENCE On Roman Reigns

jon bravo video wwe roman reigns no evidence zero proof wwe

A filmmaker named Jon Bravo claimed to have evidence connecting Roman Reigns to a jailed steroid distributor, but the video he hyped has been released and it featured none.

For those who don’t recall, Reigns was named by jailed steroiddistributor Richard Rodriguez as a former client in an interview he gave to filmmaker Jon Bravo about his Miami-based company Wellness Fitness Nutrition — which was raided by the DEA last year.

Roman denied the allegations not long after the interview got picked up by news outlets.

Bravo then began to promote that he had evidence on Roman Reigns’ purchases, as well as info on a former WWE legend who placed over 140,000 orders, and would release a video report.

He additionally implied other current WWE stars were clients.

However …  the video was published on Friday evening and included zero proof of any wrestlers, including Reigns, being tied to WFN. Even worse, the “former WWE legend” was just someone using the name Jesse Ventura and wasn’t the actual wrestler.

The video also ended with a weird tribute to Ultimate Warrior.

Not long after publishing his “report,” Bravo posted a message in the comments saying he will now take some “time away” from YouTube:

Yes there are spelling errors.. When you are rushed by 1000’s to make a video of this magnitude in this amount of time and work there will be errors.. I am human*******Also since no matter how many times or ways I say it but their IS EVIDENCE on Reigns but without some key texts to match the orders I WILL NOT DISCLOSE IT. ** Just wanted to tell everyone that I am going to be taking some time away from youtube to focus more on the WFN Film and other feature film opportunities that I have been given.
