Matt Hardy Continues To Tease Return Of “Broken” Character (Videos)

Over the last few weeks, Matt Hardy has posted the first episodes of Free the Delete on his YouTube channel, teasing the return of his “Broken” Matt Hardy gimmick. In the third episode, Hardy is visited by his former allies, like the Skarsgard and Vanguard-1.

“Teleport me back to 2016 when I was the hottest act in the business!” Hardy says to Vanguard-1 to no avail.

Hardy’s last WWE TV appearance was back in June at WWE Super ShowDown. His WWE contract is expected to expire in March.

Back in September, Matt commented on how he’d like to finish up his WWE run with “Broken” Matt Hardy, possibly even use different characters at one time.

“I would love to do something to transition to that on to TV, into another character, and into another character, and then ultimately get back to doing ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy,” Hardy said. “I would like to incorporate V1 at some point because I feel like people bereave the Matt facts and the entrance music. I do to a degree, so that’s something in my game-plan. But there’s also new stuff, I have a couple of other new things in the back of my mind, too, that I would like to utilize.

“I would like to be this crazy, constant stream of change character on television, and almost like you said, when I use that would ‘multifarious’ earlier on, like someone who has all of these identities in his body, within his mind … I would love to do something like that because I feel like as entertainment changes, and especially professional wrestling, you can’t be the same thing for too long. People’s attention’s spans are so short, there has to be a constant, gradual change going on at some point.”

Below are the first three episodes of Free the Delete:

Matt Hardy Releases First Episode Of “Free The Delete”

WWE star Matt Hardy is not broken at the moment, but in episode 1 of “Free the Delete” he teases the return of his popular persona.

The video begins with Señor Benjamin digging a grave and burying Matt in his Hardy Boyz gear. The wrestler then crawls out of the grave moments later as Broken Matt.

While getting out of the grave, Matt says via voiceover that he’s unburiable.

The whole thing ends up being a dream, however, and Matt is woken up by his two children. “Sorry guys, I was having a problem getting woken, I mean having a hard time waking up,” he says to Maxel and Wolfgang.

The video ends with Neric of the Seven Deities saying to him: “You have been led astray from your destined path, my child. Find it and seize it. Free the delete.”

Reby Hardy & Jeff Hardy’s Wife Trade Shots On Social Media Over Jeff’s DWI Arrest, Matt Hardy Comments About Priorities And Staying Sober

Jeff Hardy was arrested on October 3 in Moore County, North Carolina, and was charged with Driving While Impaired. A police report stated Hardy had a bloody nose during the traffic stop, and he told officers that it was from an earlier fight with his wife, Beth Hardy.

The police report didn’t give any further details on the possible domestic violence incident, but the officer did question Hardy about drinking alcohol. Hardy admitted to taking two shots of vodka earlier in the night, and admitted to being impaired. Hardy “bombed” the field sobriety test and was uncooperative when asked for a blood sample or Breathalyzer test.

Police told TMZ that they were not investigating the possible domestic incident between Jeff and his wife, but they said they would if Jeff filed a complaint. Jeff is scheduled to be in court for the charges on Thursday, November 7.

Shortly after, Matt Hardy commented on his brother’s arrest on Twitter.

“Since so many have asked me about my brother,” Matt wrote. “I love my brother & want him to be happy & healthy. I’ve expressed that to him as much as I can. Jeff has to make his decisions about his life. I have to focus on my 2 boys & soon to arrive son. I can only control MY actions.”

Saturday night on Twitter, Beth commented on the situation for the first time.

“Kept my mouth shut for too long,” Beth wrote. “Don’t take ANY info seriously from ‘family’ when it comes to me or Jeff. ‘Family’ quotes are BS. Family should have contacted us first before they made a statement to Twitter. Looks like they’re more worried about their online presence than Jeff. … Jeff & I are handling our business. Hence no post from either of us about what happened. Going forward, if you don’t hear it from us, disregard it. We don’t need any ‘well wishes’ from ‘family.'”

Matt Hardy’s wife, Reby Hardy, found out about the tweets and wrote the following back to Beth:

“No matter how much you dislike him, MATT IS STILL HIS BROTHER, here LONG before your ass & is family, not ‘family,’ PERIOD,” Reby wrote. “Any statements from Matt about Jeff don’t need YOUR approval; it ain’t about YOU. I know it kills you to have anyone acknowledge that the facade of a perfect life you try to maintain is a f—ing joke, but not everyone thinks the sun shines out of your asses, Beth, and not everyone wants to be complicit in your ‘protecting’ & enabling of a man who is well on his way to killing himself or someone else.

“You’re an idiot if you really believe Jeff’s actions don’t affect Matt; they do & and he has every f–king right to speak his mind on HIS OWN BROTHER. Remember, he speaks from EXPERIENCE. Unlike you, we don’t run & hide from our issues & pretend nothing is or was ever wrong in this house. Matt was the absolute worst & I’ve seen how bad it can truly get. I know how this story ends if you don’t f—ing wake up already. Worry about THAT instead of what is said to ‘f—ing nobodies online,’ as you so eloquently describe their fans.

“It’s not ‘talking s—,’ it’s living in REALITY & holding people accountable when they need it. Maybe it’s time to put the wine emojis away, drop the Twitter stuntin’ & put that energy into keeping your man from driving f—ed up on the street I drive WITH MY CHILDREN before trying to come at a man for addressing his own blood/business partner. In short, & as always, MIND YOUR F—ING BUSINESS.”

Since then, Matt commented twice on Twitter, the first tweet responded to a fan who said it was a “miracle” Matt has been sober for as long as he has.

“It’s no miracle, it’s who I am now,” Matt replied. “I live right & have my priorities in order, primarily my health & family. It’s all about you actually addressing the real issues, disallowing denial & holding yourself accountable for your actions. I’m proud of who I am.”

The second was the word “priorities” with a photo of his family.

Jeff Hardy Arrested Again On Thursday Night For DWI, Matt Hardy Comments

WWE SmackDown Superstar Jeff Hardy was arrested on Thursday evening in Moore County, North Carolina, according to PWInsider. Hardy was charged with Driving While Impaired.

Moore County police confirmed that Hardy was released from custody at around 11:30pm ET on Thursday night. They declined to give additional details, citing the ongoing investigation.

This arrest comes after Hardy was arrested for public intoxication and impairment in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina back in mid-July.

Jeff is currently out of action for WWE, recovering from knee surgery that he underwent in May. It was reported that he would be out of action for 6-9 months.

Matt Hardy has taken to social media to offer a statement regarding the incident.

“Since so many have asked me about my brother,” Matt said on Twitter. “I love my brother & want him to be happy & healthy. I’ve expressed that to him as much as I can. Jeff has to make his decisions about his life.

“I have to focus on my 2 boys & soon to arrive son. I can only control MY actions.”

Matt Hardy Would Like To Finish Up WWE Run With “Broken” Gimmick

Matt Hardy seemingly announced his retirement from wrestling last year when he said “It’s time” and had transitioned into a producer role. But Hardy ended up returning to the ring and used that time off as a way to heal up from various injuries from a lifetime in the ring.

At nearly 45 years old, Hardy says he isn’t done wrestling as he explained on the Cheap Heat podcast.

“I feel good. I am excited about getting to work and kicking some ass,” said Hardy. “I am over here just waiting. I’m not someone that wants to sit on the bench; I don’t want to be on the bench. I have a few years left to do this and I want to be a contributor and I want to do something important where I am entertaining people and making money.”

WWE held their first Raw in years from Madison Square Garden last night and that venue is one that is near and dear to Hardy’s heart. He talked about his favorite memories of MSG.

“I have a lot of cool memories at the Garden; one was when tag-team wrestling was really hot with the work that myself, my brother, the Dudley Boys, Edge & Christian put in,” stated Hardy. “One time we main evented at MSG which was a very cool memory for me. We had a four-way tag and if I am not mistaken, I think the four teams were The Hardy Boyz, Edge & Christian, Dudley Boyz, and The Acolytes. Probably my biggest memory that stands out at Madison Square Garden was at the Royal Rumble in 2000 during the Tables Match just because that was a big match for us and a match that after what happened on top of the Ladder Match, it was the beginning and the catalyst for the TLC matches.”

Hardy has won 14 tag team titles in WWE as one half of perhaps the greatest tag team in company history. He also won six individual WWE titles and was asked if there’s anything left for Hardy in WWE.

“I don’t think there’s really one more thing, maybe. I would like to finish my run with WWE as ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy. I think there’s still a lot of money to be made with ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy. I think it’s different; it’s very 2019. I think a great example is The Firefly Funhouse with Bray Wyatt which I am really enjoying. I think he is really extremely intelligent, creative, think-outside-the-box guy and that is why we were such great friends when we teamed. I think he is very creative. What he is doing right now is very masterful. He has dialed in to the hardcore audience and there’s such a good separation between The Firefly Funhouse Bray and The Fiend Bray Wyatt. He knows how to do the duality of the two. I am very intrigued and also super entertained between the two personas,” said Hardy.

Matt Hardy Comments On His Future In Pro Wrestling

Matt Hardy’s WWE contract ends around March of next year and the 44 year old WWE Superstar has previously noted he has some “hard decisions” to make in the coming months.

Last year, Hardy took a break to heal up back/hip/pelvis injuries and recharge his batteries. During that time, he got into incredible shape and made a return in February, alongside his brother, Jeff Hardy.

Yesterday on Twitter, Matt replied to an individual who believed the internet had ruined pro wrestling.

“I disagree,” Hardy wrote. “The internet hasn’t ruined wrestling, but it’s def changing it. In my opinion, the industry has to be more creative & shrewd in the way stories are told, while blurring the lines of reality & fantasy between athletic matches & entertaining content. The ‘net forces evolution.”

A fan responded to Matt by saying he always felt like Hardy could be on the creative side of wrestling, “I’ve always felt that your true calling was as a promoter or in creative—and that’s saying something because you’re a very talented wrestler.”

Matt appreciated the compliment, but felt the years he still has left to wrestle are exactly how he plans to spend them, rather than behind the curtain, or on the bench. Since Jeff Hardy went down with a knee injury in late April, Matt has been pretty much left off WWE TV, although he’s kept busy on social media with his new “You don’t understand how hard it is to be Matt Hardy” gimmick, and doing a parody of the AEW World Title getting stolen.

“Thanks, Sam. Appreciate that,” Hardy wrote back. “I can’t say I disagree with you. For the few years I have left as an in-ring performer, I wanna kick ass & contribute to the industry-not sit on the bench.”

Matt Hardy Parodies Chris Jericho Losing His AEW Title, Jericho Responds

Matt Hardy took some time out of his date night with wife Reby Hardy to parody what happened to AEW Champion Chris Jericho. As it was noted earlier this week, the AEW Championship was stolen on Sunday while Chris Jericho was eating at a LongHorn Steakhouse in Tallahassee, Florida. The title was later found along the side of the road.

Matt Hardy posted the above video on his YouTube channel. In the video, Hardy walks out of a LongHorn Steakhouse restaurant with a missing belt.

“Just had a wonderful date night with my beautiful wife here at a very classy restaurant as you can… Hold up (runs back inside the restaurant and grabs his belt) that son of a b—- tried to steal my belt. Reby, where’s our limousine?”

He also posted that he wasn’t teasing Chris Jericho, just the situation. Hardy wrote on Twitter, “For the record, I am not making fun of Chris Jericho. I just saw an opportunity to make a cute parody of last week’s wacky events & remind people of how entertaining I can be. Chris is a great friend & is an industry master of evolution & reaction. ENJOY!”

Chris Jericho responded to the video, “I loved it! It was OUTSTEEEEEENDING!!!!”
