Update On Darby Allin’s Injury Status After Being Pulled From the AEW Continental Classic

AEW’s Continental Classic has hit another early snag for the second straight year, and once again it involves a major name. Darby Allin was officially removed from the Gold League lineup on this past Saturday’s AEW Collision after his opening-round match with Kevin Knight left him hospitalized. In his place, AEW slotted in longtime rival — and former TNT and Tag Team Champion — Jack Perry, marking Perry’s first run in the tournament.

The move came just one day after Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Allin had suffered a head injury during the match with Knight, with concussion concerns being the likely culprit. Meltzer expanded on the situation during Wrestling Observer Radio, offering a bit more clarity while reviewing Allin’s Collision promo.

According to Meltzer, Allin was backstage at Collision and able to travel, which is at least a positive sign. However, Allin revealed in his promo that his “leg stopped working” during or after the match — despite Meltzer reiterating his belief the root of the issue is a head injury. Allin also admitted he was legitimately scared by what happened and required a hospital visit, something no wrestler — especially one known for death-defying bumps — takes lightly.

At this point, AEW has not provided a timetable for Allin’s return, leaving fans and officials in wait-and-see mode. Remarkably, this is only the second time in his six-year AEW run that Allin has been sidelined due to an in-ring injury, an impressive track record considering the physical risks he regularly takes. Earlier this year Allin missed seven months while training for — and ultimately climbing — Mount Everest, but otherwise he’s been one of AEW’s most durable performers.

With the Continental Classic rolling on and Jack Perry stepping into the Gold League, the big question now is simply when Darby Allin will be healthy enough to return — and how AEW plans to reinsert him into the mix once he’s cleared.

Sting’s Son Steven Borden Preparing for First Wrestling Match This October

The Borden family legacy looks set to continue inside the squared circle. Steven Borden, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Sting, is reportedly preparing to make his in-ring debut this October.

Fans last saw Steven earlier this year at AEW Revolution 2024, where he and his brother Garrett paid tribute to their father during Sting’s emotional retirement match. Dressed in one of Sting’s classic looks, Steven even got physical, hitting the Young Bucks with his dad’s iconic Stinger Splashes in a memorable moment that had the wrestling world buzzing.

Now, according to PWInsider Elite, Steven is moving beyond cameos and stepping fully into the ring. His debut is scheduled for shows at New York’s 52 Walker gallery space on October 3 and October 10.

Training Under Darby Allin

What makes this debut even more fitting is who’s helping Steven prepare — none other than Darby Allin, Sting’s final tag team partner and one of the men most influenced by The Icon’s legendary career.

Allin reportedly began working with Steven shortly after Revolution, easing him into wrestling after the younger Borden had been reluctant to follow in his father’s footsteps. Earlier this year, Allin noted that Steven “has big shoes to fill” but emphasized that their training journey has been about respect, legacy, and giving back to Sting, who became both a mentor and friend to him in AEW.

A New Chapter for the Bordens

While Steven Borden made his mark as a football player at the University of Kentucky, his decision to step into the wrestling world is a significant moment. It’s not just about carrying the Sting name — it’s about seeing if the next generation can carve its own path.

With Darby Allin guiding him and the wrestling world watching closely, Steven’s debut this October will be one of the most intriguing stories to follow this fall.

AEW Star Darby Allin Successfully Reaches Mt. Everest Summit

Darby Allin may be thousands of miles away from the AEW ring, but he’s just taken a massive step toward making his long-awaited return to the company — by literally standing on top of the world.

The former TNT Champion has officially reached the summit of Mount Everest, according to updates from the online log tracking his journey. Allin began the dangerous climb in April, and as of yesterday, he and his team have successfully made it to the top of the world’s highest peak. Now comes the equally treacherous descent — and then, eventually, a return to AEW.

Allin was the only first-time climber in his group, making this accomplishment even more remarkable. However, the climb hasn’t been without consequence to his wrestling career. Originally, he was slated to return to AEW in time for the 2024 Owen Hart Cup, but delays in his Everest expedition forced him to miss the tournament entirely. That means fans will have to wait a bit longer for the next chapter in his simmering feud with AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.

Allin’s last appearance on AEW television came in December, when he was violently written off programming — thrown down a flight of stairs by Moxley’s Deathriders faction. The brutal exit was designed to give Allin time to prepare for Everest, but it also left unfinished business between him and the champion.

With Allin out of the Owen Hart Cup, the tournament’s spotlight has shifted to its final matchup between Will Ospreay and Hangman Page. The two will clash at Double or Nothing on May 25 in Glendale, Arizona, with the winner earning a title shot against Moxley at All In: Texas on July 12 at Globe Life Field in Arlington.

As for Allin, there’s still no confirmed date for his AEW return — and it remains to be seen how the physically demanding expedition might affect his in-ring readiness. But if there’s one thing Darby Allin has made clear, it’s that he doesn’t shy away from a challenge — whether it’s a 29,000-foot mountain or Jon Moxley waiting for him at the top of AEW.

Darby Allin Sets Kickflip World Record During Mount Everest Climb

AEW’s resident daredevil Darby Allin has once again pushed the limits—this time, not in a wrestling ring, but on the slopes of Mount Everest.

Currently in the midst of a grueling climb up the world’s tallest mountain, Darby has already made history by landing a kickflip at a staggering 20,958 feet above sea level. The feat sets a world record for the highest elevation at which the move has ever been performed. Allin shared the moment on Instagram, showcasing both his signature skateboard and his unrelenting thirst for the extreme.

The climb began on April 8, with Darby joining an expedition team guided by Adventure Consultants. According to their official site, the group took a rest day at Everest Base Camp on May 3—no small feat, considering the base camp itself sits over 17,000 feet high.

While it’s unclear whether Darby will ultimately reach the summit, his commitment to pushing boundaries is already on full display. In typical Allin fashion, even an Everest expedition isn’t just about the destination—it’s about making a statement.

Known for his high-risk style in AEW, Darby has never shied away from danger. Whether diving off ladders or snowboarding through promos, the former TNT Champion blends athleticism with sheer fearlessness—and now, he’s taken that mindset to the roof of the world.

Stay tuned as Darby’s Everest journey continues. If he does make it to the summit, don’t be surprised if he finds a way to make history there, too.

Darby Allin Reaches Everest Base Camp, Begins Ascent Toward the Summit

After months of preparation and a dream years in the making, AEW’s Darby Allin has officially reached the base of the world’s tallest mountain. The former TNT Champion, known for his fearless attitude inside the ring, is now bringing that same intensity to one of the most physically grueling challenges on Earth—climbing Mount Everest.

Allin kicked off his Everest journey earlier this month, arriving in Kathmandu, Nepal, alongside his mother and brother in early April. From there, he quickly began the trek toward Everest Base Camp, and updates throughout the month pointed to strong progress and high spirits. On April 17, the Adventure Consultants—an elite expedition guiding company—confirmed that Allin was acclimating well and making steady strides with his team.

Fast forward to April 20, and Allin officially reached Everest Base Camp, according to a now-removed update from Adventure Consultants’ website. Expedition leader Ang Dorjee Sherpa noted that the group would soon begin the official climb following the traditional Puja ceremony, a spiritual ritual held before any Everest ascent to ask for protection and good fortune.

While getting to Base Camp is a major milestone, the real challenge is just beginning. Climbing Mount Everest is a weeks-long test of endurance, even for seasoned alpinists. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer previously reported that a full Everest expedition typically takes close to two months. Considering Allin is relatively new to high-altitude mountaineering, his climb may stretch even longer—assuming conditions allow him to make it all the way to the top.

It’s a massive undertaking, and success is far from guaranteed. Statistics show that roughly a third of Everest hopefuls don’t make it to the summit, often forced to turn back due to weather, altitude sickness, or sheer physical exhaustion.

Still, if there’s one thing fans have learned about Darby Allin over the years, it’s that he’s not afraid to risk it all. Whether diving off ladders in front of thousands or scaling the tallest peak in the world, Allin remains determined to push himself far beyond what most would ever dare.

Stay tuned as we continue to follow Darby’s high-stakes adventure—because this climb could be his most extreme challenge yet.

Darby Allin’s Everest Journey Off to a Strong Start — “Doing Great,” Says Expedition Team

AEW daredevil Darby Allin is pushing himself to the absolute limit — and this time, it’s not inside the ring. Allin’s highly anticipated expedition to climb Mount Everest is officially underway, and according to a recent update from his guiding team, the former TNT Champion is doing just fine on one of the most grueling physical challenges on Earth.

The update comes via Adventure Consultants, the mountain guiding company overseeing Allin’s journey. In their latest public check-in, posted on Wednesday, the team revealed that Allin and his fellow climbers gained an elevation of 530 meters during a three-and-a-half-hour hike from Pheriche to Chhukhung. The next step in their acclimatization process is a trek to a hill standing at 5,540 meters — scheduled for Thursday.

“Darby is doing great! … It was a nice and clear day with great views,” the guiding team shared in the update, providing a positive sign that the AEW star is adjusting well to the harsh conditions and intense altitude.

Allin’s climb began around April 10 and marks a major personal milestone. He’s spoken openly for years about his dream of summiting Everest, and while he originally planned to make the climb in 2024, a shoulder injury sustained at AEW Big Business forced him to delay. AEW has since given Allin ample time to prepare for the expedition, and by all accounts, his training and conditioning have paid off so far.

It’s worth noting that Everest is no small feat — even for experienced climbers. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, most attempts take up to two months, and only about two-thirds of climbers make it to the summit. For those without extensive mountaineering experience, the odds drop significantly, especially if weather conditions worsen. Tragically, nine climbers lost their lives on the mountain in 2024 alone.

But if there’s anyone in pro wrestling you’d bet on to take on something this extreme, it’s Darby Allin. Known for throwing himself off ladders, crashing through barricades, and launching off stages with reckless abandon, Allin has built his entire career on defying limits. Now, he’s attempting to conquer the highest one on the planet.

No word yet on how far he intends to go in the coming weeks, but if his current progress is any indication, Darby Allin is more determined than ever to plant his flag — both as a professional wrestler and as an adventurer.

Darby Allin Reportedly Set to Begin Mount Everest Climb on April 15

AEW star Darby Allin is officially gearing up for one of the most dangerous challenges of his life—climbing Mount Everest. After his plans were postponed last year due to a foot injury, the former TNT Champion is now set to begin his ascent on April 15, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

A Risky Undertaking

Climbing Everest is no small feat, especially for someone without extensive mountaineering experience. The journey to the summit typically takes around two months, though unpredictable weather and other challenges can extend the timeframe. With over 340 recorded fatalities on the mountain, Everest remains one of the most treacherous climbs in the world.

One of the most haunting aspects of the mountain is Rainbow Valley, a section near the summit known for the brightly colored clothing of fallen climbers whose bodies remain frozen in place. Another infamous landmark is Green Boots, the body of an unidentified climber who perished in 1996 and has since become a grim marker for those making the climb.

What’s Next for Darby?

Allin has never shied away from extreme challenges, whether inside the ring or in his personal life. He’s previously expressed his desire to push his limits beyond professional wrestling, and this Everest climb is the latest example of that mindset.

As he embarks on this dangerous mission, AEW fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on his progress. If successful, Allin will join a rare group of individuals who have conquered the world’s tallest peak. However, given the risks involved, this journey will undoubtedly test his endurance and determination like never before.

Stay tuned for updates on Darby Allin’s Everest expedition as he takes his daredevil persona to new heights—literally.

Darby Allin Steps Away from AEW to Conquer Mount Everest

Darby Allin, one of AEW’s most daring and unconventional stars, is taking a break from the ring, but not for rest or recovery. Instead, Allin is setting his sights on a new kind of challenge: climbing Mount Everest. After a brutal assault by the Death Riders on the December 27 episode of AEW Rampage, which left Allin battered and tossed down steel steps, the former TNT and World Tag Team Champion has been conspicuously absent from AEW programming. Now, reports shed light on his extended hiatus.

Preparing for Everest

According to Fightful Select, Allin is off the road and will remain away from AEW for an extended period to prepare for his ambitious climb of the world’s tallest mountain. While a return date hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s believed Allin will be back in the spring.

Climbing Mount Everest is no small feat. Expeditions typically last six to ten weeks, depending on weather and acclimatization, and demand rigorous preparation, according to Benegas Brothers Expeditions. However, Allin’s extensive athletic training and fearless persona may give him an edge in accelerating the process.

This isn’t Allin’s first attempt at tackling Everest. His initial plans to summit the iconic peak earlier in 2024 were derailed after he suffered a broken foot during a match at AEW Dynamite: Big Business. Now, with recovery behind him, Allin is back on track to achieve this personal milestone.

Wrestling Plans on Hold

Allin’s last AEW match was a hard-fought draw against Ricochet in the Continental Classic’s Blue League during the December 25 episode of AEW Dynamite. Reports suggested that AEW had big plans for Allin following the tournament, including a potential push. While those plans are now delayed, fans can expect his eventual return to feature unfinished business—particularly with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders, who left him sidelined in storyline.

The Return of a Daredevil

Darby Allin has always embodied a fearless spirit, whether it’s diving off ladders in the ring or taking on extreme challenges outside of wrestling. While fans will miss his unique energy on AEW television, his Mount Everest expedition adds another layer to his larger-than-life persona.

As Allin sets his sights on the climb of a lifetime, anticipation will only grow for the day he returns to AEW, ready to pick up where he left off and, perhaps, conquer new heights in the ring as well.

AEW’s Eddie Kingston Injured, Darby Allin Returned, Will Replace Kingston In Anarchy In The Arena Match At Double Or Nothing

This past weekend, Eddie Kingston lost his NJPW Strong Openweight Championship at NJPW Strong Resurgence in a No Ropes Last Man Standing Match against Gabe Kidd, which saw Kingston suplexed out of the ring, his leg colliding with the barricade. It was recently speculated that Kingston was dealing with a legitimate, significant injury and the worst seems to be confirmed.

On “AEW Dynamite,” AEW EVPs Matt and Nick Jackson explained that Kingston was too injured to compete in the upcoming Anarchy In The Arena Match at AEW Double or Nothing on May 26. Kingston was supposed to team with FTR and former rival Bryan Danielson to defend AEW’s honor against The New Elite’s Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry. There is no word on how long Kingston will be out of action. While the barricade legitimately injured Kingston, The Young Bucks and Jack Perry added narrative salt in the wound by attacking the former ROH World Champion after his loss. The attack marked the Bucks’ first time back in an NJPW ring since before AEW was founded in 2019.

Kingston took to Instagram to share a photo of him, seated in a wheelchair, smoking a cigar, captioned with a quote from famed amateur wrestler Dan Gable.

Kingston will be replaced by former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin, who returned from numerous injuries, including being hit by a bus, to help FTR and Danielson fight off the New Elite at the end of the episode. According to Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, Allin said he is not 100% heading into the brutal match, as on top of his many injuries, a superplex during the show’s main event led to Allin getting hit in the head with a beam while he was hiding under the ring.

AEW’s Darby Allin Recovering From Being Hit By A Bus

AEW star Darby Allin is known for taking a lot of risks, both in and out of the ring. When he’s performing in All Elite Wrestling, he is diving off ladders through panes of glass, and when he gets some free time, he jumps over his own house in a car and does stunts on a tricycle. Allin has been out of action since the “Big Business” edition of “AEW Dynamite” in March after he broke his foot during a match with Jay White, which ultimately cost him his chance to climb Mount Everest. Now Allin has yet another injury to deal with

Allin took to Instagram to say that he had been hit by a bus. Despite the severity of the situation, Allin was still able to catch a show on Broadway with American artist Raymond Pettibon.

“That awkward moment when your crossing the street in New York with a broken foot and get hit by a bus,” he wrote. “Least I can have a good time with @raymond_pettibon_ and catch a broadway show lol”

Before his broken foot, Allin was on course to have one of his most successful years. He won the AEW Tag Team Championships with Sting on February 7 by defeating Big Bill and Ricky Starks in a Tornado Tag Match, before successfully defending the titles against The Young Bucks in the main event of AEW Revolution on March 3. With their win over Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, Allin and Sting ended their run as a team with a 100% win rate as Sting would officially retire from wrestling following the event. Allin was gifted Sting’s bat after The Icon had called it quits, but that bat is now in the possession of Jay White, who has been parading around with it on TV since injuring Allin at “Big Business.”
