Alberto Del Rio Wins AAA World Title

Last night at AAA’s Guerra de Titanes event “El Patron” Alberto Del Rio won the AAA World Title. Del Rio became the first wrestler to hold the CMLL, WWE and AAA World Heavyweight Titles. Below is a photo and tweet from Lucha Libre AAA after his win:

Alberto Del Rio signing With TNA In 2015?

PWInsider elite reports that former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio says he plans to wrestle for 2 companies with TV in 2015, The 2 companies reportedly are AAA’s Lucha Underground and TNA.

During appearances this past weekend in the Northeast, Del Rio made it clear that he plans on working for Lucha Underground and TNA in 2015. There is no word on how it would work contractually.

Report: Mysterio Finished With WWE & Is Going To AAA Lucha Libre

LuchaWorld.com is reporting that Rey Mysterio has left WWE & is returning to AAA Lucha Libre. This is the first news on Mysterio’s status in a long while. The last word was that he was stuck in his WWE deal & he wasn’t cashing his paychecks.

Former WWE & TNA Star Working For El Ray AAA Series, Other’s Decline Deals

Former WWE & TNA Star Chavo Guerrero Jr. will be working in a backstage role & performing for El Rey Network’s new Lucha Underground series with Mexico’s AAA promotion.

Former TNA stars, Frankie Kazarian & The Young Bucks have reportedly turned down deals for the series.

Former WWE talents Ezekiel Jackson, Maxine & Savannah were offered deals. Reportedly today is the last day for those offered deals to sign them.

Reports are that some talents have been hesitant to sign the deals because of the length of exclusivity, the lack of guaranteed money & the inability to work indies without approval from Lucha Underground officials. Some talents have been offered $750 per match while others have been offered just $200 per match.

Premiere Date For El Rey Network’s Lucha Libre Series

El Rey Network & Mark Burnett’s One Three Media announced production start on Lucha Underground, a hour-long weekly series which is partnered with Mexico’s AAA Lucha Libre promotion. The series will premiere Wednesday, October 8th at 8pm E on the El Rey Network.

Update On Alberto Del Rio’s (El Patron) Status

F4WOnline reports that WWE has informed AAA that Alberto Del Rio (El Patron) will not be able to wrestle for them this Sunday at TripleMania XXII. WWE has locked up Del Rio in a long non-compete clause. Del Rio can’t wrestle in the US  for one year, probably because he was found to have breached his deal.

At a press conference yesterday in Mexico with AAA President Joaquin Rolden, Alberto Del Rio said he would no longer be using the Del Rio name because it is owned by WWE. He revealed that his new ring name is El Patron. He acknowledged that he can’t wrestle for AAA for 90 days but his lawyers are working on finding a way that he could wrestle at AAA’s TripleMania XXII event this Sunday. He has challenged El Texano Jr. for the AAA Mega Heavyweight Title.

Update On Del Rio & WWE, How He Can Appear For AAA

F4WOnline reports that the situation between Alberto Del Rio & WWE is “very acrimonious” & that WWE is trying to tie Del Rio up in a lengthy non-compete clause, similar to the one that Jim Ross had that recently expired. Del Rio has been making appearances in Mexico under the Alberto Del Rio name that WWE owns, for Sunday’s AAA TripleMania XXII event.

DEl Rio will be appearing at Sunday’s AAA TripleMania XXII show as a special guest. WWE does not want him appearing for AAA shows on the El Rey Network, nor do they want him appearing for TNA.

Alberto Del Rio Announced His Return To AAA

Alberto Del confirmed that he is returning to Mexican promotion AAA this Sunday at TripleMania XXII. Here is a translation of what he said in the video above:

“Hello aficionados of Mexico and AAA, the boss is back. What better place to call home than AAA. Thanks for all the support and you guys know there is quality where ever the boss is and there is quality in AAA, there was no better place to go. See you soon and God bless you.”

Del Rio is returning to AAA, where he started his wrestling career in 2000. TripleMania is AAA’s biggest show of the year & it will also feature the debut of Myzteziz (the former Sin Cara from WWE). Jeff Jarrett is aslo scheduled to be in action at the show.
