TNA & AAA Interested In Alberto Del Rio

F4WOnline is reporting that both TNA & AAA are interested in signing Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio has a 90 day no-compete clause that is believed to be in place. By Del Rio being terminated, WWE may have nullified the non-compete agreement, leaving Del Rio free to jump to TNA or AAA.

Reportedly TNA tried to contact Del Rio in the immediacy of his WWE release, with a serious offer for him to become the next TNA World Champion. It might appeal to Del Rio as a way of sticking it to WWE. TNA would get a major star & a angle that would become the most talked about story in wrestling. The trouble is that TNA is low on money & potentially without a TV station in a matter of weeks.

AAA seems like a more likely option for Del Rio. AAA is currently executing a long term plan for expansion into the USA. Del Rio is the perfect brand face for that strategy, he fits with AAA’s Mexican tradition but also has American fame. Even before Del Rio was fired, he’d been rumored as a potential signing for AAA when his WWE contract expired some time this year. A t 37 years old, he might consider retiring, but could be swayed to continue his wrestling career by limited dates & maximum money.
