Congratulations to former WWE and TNA star (and current Wrestling Inc. Podcast co-host) Matt Morgan, who won the Longwood District 4 Commissioner race in Florida with 58.5 percent of the vote. Morgan defeated opponent Mark Weller by a 58.5% to 41.5% margin. WrestlingINC will discuss the victory with Morgan on this Monday’s edition of the Wrestling Inc. podcast, right after WWE Monday Night RAW.
This is real everyone! Y2J Chris Jericho will step into a non-WWE ring to face Kenny Omega in January at NJPW Wrestle kingdom 12 at the Tokyo Dome!
Following Kenny Omega’s title defense against Trent Baretta at NJPW’s Power Struggle event this morning, a vignette came up featuring Y2J challenging Omega at the January 4 event by saying he’s the true best wrestler in the world.
Buff Bagwell has long-maintained that Jim Ross had something to do with him being fired from the WWE. In a recent interview with Title Match Wrestling, Bagwell stuck to his claims and went on a long-winded rant about JR.
Bagwell asserts that Ross spread rumors about Bagwell’s mother, Judy, calling him to ask if her son could have the weekend off. He said this, coupled with a lackluster match against Booker T on RAW that same week, led to him being released from the company.
“Do you really believe that you’re gonna fire Buff Bagwell over one bad match? Come on, man,” Bagwell said. “Do you really believe, out there in video world, that Buff Bagwell got fired because of his mother? Do people really believe that I had my mother call the WWF and say let him off Augusta in Birmingham? Well f**k no that’s not true! Why would I do that? But people believed it. And one person was responsible: Jim Ross. And only God, Jim Ross and me know the truth, and who’s gonna believe me. Nobody… The true, true story is Jim Ross created that monster, and people believed it.”
As the head of talent relations at the time, it was Ross’ job to inform superstars when their contracts have been terminated. Bagwell understands it wasn’t actually Ross’ decision to let him go.
“It may not have been Jim. Jim made the call, and that’s the route he took,” Bagwell said. “He said, ‘Hey, it’s a s****y job what I got here. It’s a job I gotta do, I gotta call people. It’s a bad job.'”
Ross had responded to Bagwell’s claims on his podcast in 2015, saying he was just doing his job by delivering the news of his firing and he never did anything to ruin his reputation. But Bagwell stands by his beliefs.
“To be honest with you, that could be true,” he said. “But somebody, and I was told it was Jim, somebody started the ‘mother called in’ [rumor]. And what Jim’s leaving out right there, is on video they have a roundtable meeting, and Jim Ross rips my f***ing ass out.”
Bagwell says that he never saw the tape himself because his father told him not to watch it. He then goes into a profanity-laced tirade against Ross, calling him a liar and saying he ruined his career. Bagwell said it would be impossible for him to ever forgive Ross.
“Absolutely not, there’s no way… There’s no way to mend a fence, brother, of costing me my life,” he said. “Jim Ross, I feel and I just proved on tape, Jim Ross ruined my career. He started this f***ing rumor about my mother and ruined my career. How do you mend that fence? How do you do that? Now, do I think he was the mastermind behind it all? Absolutely not… But I think Jim has all to do with what I’m talking about with my mother calling the office, and starting that rumor and everybody believed it. I think Jim was 1,000 percent behind that.”
A woman has come forward saying ex-What Culture personality Adam Blampied manipulated her into sending nude photos and now he’s taking a leave of absence from Cultaholics.
Blampied posted his statement on Twitter shortly before the woman spoke out and said he’d be taking a “short” leave to deal with some personal issues.
Adding, “I wanted to make this situation public for reasons that will become clear. I want to publicly apologize for actions in my private life over the past few years: I have falsely claimed to several woman via social media that I was in an open relationship with my girlfriend as a means to repeatedly message them and encourage them to send me images of themselves.”
Adam claims he didn’t make threats or offer perks in exchange, but he did exploit his public position by manipulating women in this manner.
Not long after his statement was posted, a woman on Twitter published a lengthy telling of her experience with Blampied (along with photo proof) and it details how he drunkenly asked her for topless photos after admitting he had a girlfriend who wouldn’t approve.
She continued, “Knowing that I was 19, drunk, sexually inexperienced and had moral objections to sending him nudes, he continued to try to persuade me. In the end, I relented. I don’t feel good about my actions. I wish I had had the self-control to not do it, but I’d never really had that kind of attention from a man before, especially not someone like Blampied. He was charming, he was the face of a YouTube channel and I’d been a fan of him for awhile.”
The woman admits the whole situation messed with her mental health and she has since learned he’s done the same thing to other women as well, which contributed to her making this public.
As Pro Wrestling Sheet previously reported, Adam is the Head of Creative at Cultaholics — the new venture from the core group of personalities who recently left What Culture. During his time away, Blampied says he’ll be focusing on getting profesional help and coming to terms with the choices he’s made.
All of us here at Wrestling News Blog (Trevor, John & Vanessa), would like to let Jeff Jarrett know that we are praying for him as he deals with his problems. We believe God can see him through this.
Pro Wrestling Sheethas learned former Impact Wrestling executive Jeff Jarrett has checked into a rehab facility … this according to sources with direct knowledge.
We’re told Jeff made the decision this morning to get help and one source noted that it seems to be WWE sponsored rehabilitation.
Jeff Jarrett allegedly passed out from drinking in a locker room at an indie show on Friday, then insisted on wrestling — and this video sadly shows he was in no condition to be in the ring.
Real Canadian Wrestling promoter Steven Ewaschuk tells Pro Wrestling Sheet Jeff showed up to the venue late on Friday and appeared to be slightly intoxicated, while claiming his tardiness was due to a customs issue.
Jarrett allegedly said he had trouble at the border and an agent allowed him into Canada under the condition that he’d be back at the airport by 6am the next morning to handle everything.
Ewaschuk claims Jeff Jarrett continued to drink and ultimately passed out in the locker room during the show. When intermission began, he had to be woken up for pictures. Jeff then got ready for his match, despite suspicion that he was still drinking, and attempted to wrestle a twenty-minute match.
Before the match, Double J’s music hit for his entrance but the wrestler didn’t come out. His opponent then got on the microphone and said Jeff was upstairs getting drunk. Jeff finally hit the ring moments later and for about ten minutes the two wrestlers stalled for time.
After the event was over, the promoter paid the 50-year-old and expressed his unhappiness over the situation. Jarrett said he’d update them on the border situation, but never did. Instead, they found out the following day when JJ never arrived in Edmonton for his next booking with them.
The video below was provided by RCW and features parts of the match. At one point Jeff picks up his opponent for a bodyslam and falls over. Moments later he does his strut in a wobbly line.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reached out to Jeff for comment and he denied passing out in the locker room. He also referred to the promoter as an “amateur.”
Former professional wrestler Stan “Krusher” Kowalski passed away last Friday at 91 years old. Kowalski was best known as one half of the tag team Murder Incorporated alongside his partner Tiny Mills in the American Wrestling Association.
Kowalski was born Bert Smith in Minneappolis. At 17, he joined the U.S. Navy and served three and a half years during World War II. After the war he enrolled at the University of Minnesota where he joined the wrestling team.
Kowalski made his debut for an NWA promotion in 1948. He and Mills eventually won the Minneapolis version of the NWA World Tag Team Championships twice while working for the NWA Minneapolis Wrestling and Boxing Club and later became the first-ever AWA tag team champions in 1960 when that promotion merged into the AWA. He retired from professional wrestling in 1976.
Kowalski spent much of his time volunteering for the United Way and helping homeless veterans. The Veterans of Foreign Wars named an award after him in his honor.
Kowalski is survived by his two children, Scott and Stacy Smith.
Taeler Hendrix of SHIMMER joined the countless women in speaking out against sexual harassment. In an Instagram post this week, Hendrix admits that she too has been a victimized.
“In my life, I’ve met hundreds of women who have been body shamed, raped, sexually assaulted, &/or sexually harassed. I’m sad to say that I’m one of them. Since a young age I’ve been body shamed, drugged, assaulted & harassed.”
Hendrix, who has previously appeared in WWE and ROH, among other promotions, took to social media to bring to light her own struggles. Sharing a picture of herself and Slinky, she begins her post by informing her followers that her pet is also a registered Emotional Support Animal.
“Anyone that knows or follows me knows my puppy Slinky! What they may not know is that he’s my registered Emotional Support Animal! This rescue dog has rescued me. He’s helped me find my smile. He helps me feel protected. He’s been with me through the worst of things. He saw me through to the point in my life where I’d meet my future husband.”
Hendrix continues, standing up for not only herself, but for others who may not have yet found the courage to share their stories.
“We aren’t toys for your pleasure. WE DON’T Want IT & we certainly aren’t the create-a-player function in a video game. Measure us by our heart & gumption. We’re moms, daughters, sisters. I didn’t ask for my body! My body was God given & I’m pretty sure He didn’t give you permission to abuse his creations. I’ll NEVER be taken [advantage] of EVER again. I’m worth more than a paycheck, a job opportunity, etc…I’ll speak up for others who may think they can’t because at one point, I felt like I had no voice either.”
She ends her brave note with a powerful message to those who have also faced victimization.
“Believe that YOU matter. It’s not YOUR fault. It’s time for a change. Make a choice. Be a voice. #MeToo”
