Lana issues statement on injury

It is being reported that WWE diva Lana sustained a wrist injury while training for her first in ring match. Word going around is that there was suppose to be a mixed tag match at Night of Champions pinning Lana and Ziggler to go up against the team of Rusev and Summer Rae. Now due to Lana’s injury that won’t be the case.

Lana took to Twitter and Instagram to address her injury. She had this to say: “I have dedicated my entire life to becoming the best sports entertainer I could be. Ever since I have debuted in @wwe I have continued to go to @wwenxt & come hours early before live events to train & learn how to fight. I wanted my first match to make the #WWE Universe proud. My wrist fracture is proof that WWE & professional wrestling is not fake but very real. This is a bump in the road & can be discouraging but for every person that has believed in me and has ever chanted #WeWantLana I will keep going. From here forward I will share every part of my journey to my first match. Thank you to every fan that has cheered for me & chanted my name, you all give me the strength to be brave. I will continue to give everything I have to becoming one of the greatest women in WWE & entertainment.”

Lana is expected to be out from anywhere between 4-6 months. We here at Wrestling news blog. Would like to send Lana positive vibes and hopes for a speedy recovery

Sting Wants Jim Ross To Call His Last Match

Sting appeared on Jim Ross’ podcast The Ross Report recently to talk about his career winding down.

During the conversation Jim Ross said that there was a very short list of names that he’d want to come back to call their last match. He told Sting that his name was on the list. Sting let him know that he felt the same way.

“The feeling is mutual,” Sting said. “If I could have anyone on the face of this Earth to call my last match, it would be Jim Ross. If I get my way, if I get what I want, that’s what’s going to happen.”

Ross then joked that he was available and works cheap.

“You can’t say ‘the young kid from Venice Beach’ anymore, though. You’ll have to be more creative,” Sting joked.

Jim Ross hasn’t called a match for WWE since January 2013.

Jimmy Snuka Arrested For Murder

WWE Hall of Famer “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka has been arrested for the 1983 murder of his then girlfriend Nancy Argentinto. Snuka is being charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter according to Lehigh County authorities.

Snuka was arrested this morning in New Jersey and arraigned at about 1:50 p.m. He is currently in county jail under a $100,000 bail.

According to Sarah Cassi of LehighVallyLive, Snuka is believed to be posting $10,000 bond on a $100,000 bail right now, with the surrender of his passport as a condition of his release. With Snuka undergoing cancer treatment, it was felt that incarcerating him would be an undue financial burden on taxpayers. The district attorney noted that they cited Snuka’s inaction in getting Argentino medical attention for her head injury.

Bram Released From Jail On Bond, Details Of His Arrest

TNA star Bram (Thomas Latimer) was arrested for domestic battery and false imprisonment on Sunday in Gulfport, Florida.

Latimer was released today on $5000 bond for the domestic battery by strangulation charge, and another $1000 bond for the false imprisonment charge.

WWE Diva Charlotte who is still legally married to Latimer was not the woman involved in the incident. Charlotte and Latimer split a few months ago.

Below are details of his arrest, courtesy of the Gulfport Police Department:

Professional Wrestler Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Gulfport, FL – On 8/30 at approximately 6:00 AM, officers responded to a call about a disturbance in an apartment at 3205 58th Street South. There they encountered Thomas R. Latimer and a woman who identified herself as his girlfriend.

The officers observed evidence indicative of a physical altercation, and their investigation revealed that after the couple had been arguing, the woman felt threatened and sought refuge in her bedroom.

Latimer followed her into the bedroom, closed the door, and refused to allow her to leave. He then pushed the woman onto the bed and was holding her down by the neck.

Latimer, who is a wrestler with TNA Impact Wrestling, was charged with domestic battery by strangulation and false imprisonment. Both are felony charges, and he is currently being held in the Pinellas County Jail.

Jeff Jarrett Talks Finding GFW TV Deal, Streaming The Show, Working With TNA

Global Force Wrestling founder Jeff Jarrett talked to RVA MAG recently about finding a TV deal.

Finding a TV deal for GFW:

“We are making moves. It’s been a real challenge for us to line up a domestic situation as well as international deals. I’m heading over to London in a couple of weeks to further those moves. The first set of tapings were great. We got plenty of one hour episodes and we’ve got the crowning of the champions in October. With that and the Grand Slam tour as well, it’s been no rest for the weary, but it’s exciting time in the still the very early days of Global Force Wrestling.”

Possibly airing on Netflix or Hulu:

“All of the above and I don’t want to specifically say Netflix or Hulu. The world of 2015 is so interesting. You wouldn’t be asking that question even, what would you say, two or three years ago? It’s interesting just how everyone consumes their information. Not just wrestling or television. Your phone is a source of news, entertainment, games, apps. It’s just a different world. I’ve said it for a year now: my goal is if you’re a GFW fan, you’ll have access to watch it all across the globe. There’s a huge component to that. I won’t call it streaming, but there’s a big component in the online world for Global Force.”

Working with TNA again:

“You know, it’s a business. My family’s been in this business for over 70 years so I’ve seen a lot of situations where you’d say those folks would never work together again and they did. Business is business and when it’s a win-win-win-a win for our promotion, a win for their promotion, and more importantly, a win for the wrestling fan – it’s really hard not to do a deal. So we put a lot of things in the past and in our rear view mirrors on both sides and moved forward. It’s a pretty exciting time. All the positive momentum that’s coming from the working relationship between TNA and GFW is just a great thing.”

AJ Styles Talks Possible Future With WWE & Retirement Plans

Former IWGP and TNA Champion AJ Styles has quickly become one of the most sought-after talents in wrestling. His New Japan Pro Wrestling run is arguably the greatest of his career, and has caused many to speculate a possible WWE offer.

In a interview with Wrestling Observer Radio, Styles said he really enjoys being with NJPW, but if WWE made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, he’d have to listen.

It also appears that Styles has about five more years in wrestling, as he said during the interview that he currently plans to retire by 42.

“At 42, that’ll be 20 years for me. I think that’s a good stopping point, if I make it. You never know what will happen next. Blowing out my knee at this point in my career could be career-ending. I was planning on retiring early, but apparently IUDs don’t work for my wife,” Styles joked.

Styles also opened up about his hopes for life after wrestling as an active performer.

“I really think I have a lot to offer, so I’d really like to open my own dojo and still be able to work with New Japan. Their guys could come stay with me and get some experience in states. If New Japan needed some more gaijin, then I would be able to supply that. That’s what I’d like to do when all this is said and done, but liking and doing are two different things,” said Styles.

Tough Enough finale  Results

After a month long competition the two winners of this seasons Tough Enough were crowned tonight. Their reward? A half a million dollar WWE contract. One man and woman would be chosen.

The final four Amanda Saccomanno, Zamariah “ZZ” Loupe, Sarah Lee, and Joshua Bredl all had their first televised match up live and center stage in front of a live crowd at the preformance center in Orlando Florida.

It was also reviled that the final four would be not only having a match but also revealing their Personas AND cutting a promo. To no surprise Joshs’ alter ego was the yeti, Amanda’s was Mandy Rose, ZZs’ was King of the bayou and Sara Lee was Hope.

So who would the finalist be facing in their first match? They thought it would be each other but that wasn’t the case. Cesaro and Alicia Fox were brought in to face the young prospects. All four matches were decent for newbies despite the fact that all four finalist lost their matches. The general consences between the judges was that Josh put on a better match than ZZ and as far as the women’s match both of them got mixed reviews.

In the end the WWE universe decided to reward Josh and Sara with the contracts. There you have it folks, Josh Bredl & Sara Lee are the newest members of the WWE roster.

What do you guys think of the results? Is it what you guys wanted? Let us know in the comments. Until then here’s wishing the best of luck to both Josh and Sara in their respective WWE careers. Hop along for their journey by following them on Twitter @ToughJoshua & @ToughSara
