Patricia Anne Crowe, 59, was arrested this past Saturday on charges of aggravated assault and reckless conduct after holding independent wrestler Paul Lee at gunpoint at an AWF show in Ringgold, GA.

The ruckus started when Lee tied another wrestler in the ropes and was hitting him with a chair. Crowe then ran to the ring with a knife to try and help the wrestler escape.

“She was reaching through the ring, cutting him loose,” Lee told WRCB.

Lee told her to “sit her toothless self down,” at which point Crowe drew a 38-caliber handgun at Lee and his manager.

“Ms. Crowe did indeed pull the gun on Mr. Lee because of the way he’d talked to her,” police Cpl. Chris Faulk told The Catoosa County News. “She said, ‘he was talking mean to me, and I got mad. I guess I just let my temper get the best of me and I pulled my pistol on him’.”

Lee was able to take the weapon and hold Crowe until police arrived. Crowe was arrested and released from the Catoosa County Jail on Monday after posting a $4,000 bond.

“The sheriff’s office called me to let me know they let her out Monday on a $4,000 bond,” Lee told The Catoosa County News. “I think it should have been a higher bond than that. She pulled a gun on me in front of kids and everything….it was just crazy.”

Lee said that additional security will be added to the arena, including installing metal detectors at the entrances.

Crowe has been banned from all future AWF wrestling events.

UFC Lifts Ban On MMA Journalist

Source: WrestlingINC

The UFC reinstated the media credentials of MMA Fighting and Ariel Helwani Monday night after being removed from UFC 199 and subsequently ‘banned for life.’

UFC’s statement is below:

“Following a conversation with the editorial team at SB Nation, UFC will not prevent MMAFighting.com from receiving media credentials to cover live UFC events. We respect the role the media plays in our sport and beyond, including MMAFighting’s ability to report news. However, in our opinion, we believe the recurring tactics used by its lead reporter extended beyond the purpose of journalism. We feel confident our position has now been adequately communicated to the SB Nation editorial team.

UFC’s goal as the world’s leading mixed martial arts promotion is to cultivate interest in its world-class athletes and events, and deliver for the fans. We will continue to introduce this sport and its athletes to new fans across the world, and we will do so by working alongside media across all platforms.”

Velvet Sky Says She Wants To Go To WWE, Talks Why She Left TNA, More

Source: WrestlingINC

Former TNA Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky was interviewed by Sports Illustrated recently. You can check out highlights below, and the full interview at this link.

How she’d do in WWE:

“I think I would do well there. The women there are killing it, and empowering and building up the women would be a great role for me. Bayley is so much fun to watch wrestle. She has so much energy and passion, and the people feel her energy and feed off that. She’s so great at expressing herself, and she’s so genuine.”

Trying to get to WWE:

“That is why I sacrificed right from the beginning,” she said. “That is why I left college, and the reason why I wrestled every weekend. The indie scene is not glitz and glamour, but a chance with the WWE is the reason I did this from the very beginning. I would totally embrace any opportunity with the WWE.”

Leaving TNA:

“Leaving TNA was best for me,” Sky said. “I’d been there for almost ten years and I’d accomplished everything I wanted to do. My contract was coming up, and this was a business decision I made for myself. It was hard because there are so many memories there with the fans and the TNA family, but I don’t regret it. I look back on the career I had with TNA, and I’m so proud. I did what I set out to do, and I’m very proud of what I accomplished.”
