Eric Young Out Of Action For Several Months

Impact Wrestling star Eric Young is currently out of action with a torn ACL.

Young recently appeared on The Wrestling Perspective podcast and said he suffered a torn ACL at the recent set of Impact TV tapings. He then revealed that he will be on the shelf for 6-9 months.

Young noted that this is the first time he’s been injured in his lengthy career. He is scheduled to undergo surgery soon, and is hoping to be back in the ring in 6 months.

“At the last tapings I tore my ACL,” Young said. “It’s the first time I’ve ever been injured. I missed my first wrestling show this Friday that I was booked on in 24 years of doing it. So, it’s frustrating, man. I’ve never been injured. I’ve been hurt lots, but I’ve never been injured. I have to have surgery in like a week and a half. And it’s going to be a long, long road. So, we’ll see, man. It’s going to get real interesting for me.”

Young revealed that he suffered the injury during a match against James Storm. He continued to work the tapings, wrestling in a Hardcore War eight-man tag team match the next day, and then a singles match against Eddie Edwards. The match with Storm will air on this week’s Impact as the main event because it is Storm’s 1,000th career bout.

“My ACL is completely torn, which I didn’t know,” Young said. “That happened on Monday during the match with Storm. I finished it like nothing happened. I wrestled a hardcore war eight-man tag the following day, then I wrestled Eddie Edwards on Tuesday in a singles match. It was like 20 minutes — on one leg. And I would put that match against anything that airs anytime, for any wrestling company, anywhere in the world, and I did it on one leg. And I’m very proud of it.”

Young couldn’t say for sure if he will remain on Impact TV while injured, but he said he imagines he will. He is the current Violent By Design leader, a stable that also features Joe Doering, Rhino and Cody Deaner.

AEW Star John Silver To Be Out Of Action For 4-6 Weeks

AEW star John Silver of The Dark Order is expected to miss at least one month of in-ring action after suffering a shoulder injury.

Silver suffered a shoulder injury during this week’s AEW Dynamite main event, which saw Darby Allin retain the TNT Title over Silver. Allin revealed the injury during a post-show promo praising Silver, and Silver later confirmed the injury on Twitter.

In an update, Silver took to Twitter this morning and announced that he will be out of the ring for around 4-6 weeks. The injury will not require surgery as there is no major damage.

“Bad news: I’ll be out about 4-6 weeks,” Silver wrote. “Good news: I don’t need surgery and there is no major damage”

Brandi And Cody Rhodes To Star In New TNT Reality Show

AEW stars (and real life married couple) Cody and Brandi Rhodes are set to star in their very own reality show on TNT.

A trailer for the upcoming “Rhodes To The Top” aired during the latest edition of Dynamite.

AEW later released more details via a press release.

“Tonight’s action-packed episode of “AEW DYNAMITE” delivered another special announcement for soon-to-be parents Cody and Brandi Rhodes. TNT has ordered a new unscripted series, ‘Rhodes to the Top,’ from Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Shed Media, that will go inside the lives of Cody and Brandi as they navigate their growing family while building AEW’s global wrestling empire,” the company said.

“Each 30-minute episode will take viewers behind-the-scenes as the powerhouse couple manage their ever-busier lives inside and outside the ring, all the while surrounded by a colorful and often hilarious motley crew of wrestlers, family and friends who both support and test them at every turn,” the release continued. “Married in 2013, Cody and Brandi have been on an unprecedented path to wrestling greatness, but will now face their newest and possibly biggest challenge yet.”

Brandi and Cody were regular cast members on the now cancelled E! reality show “WAGS Atlanta,” so this won’t be the couple’s first foray into the world of reality TV.

Britt Baker And Thunder Rosa Battle In A Wild Unsanctioned Lights Out Match On Dynamite

The main event of last night’s AEW Dynamite: St. Patrick’s Day Slam was Britt Baker taking on Thunder Rosa in a Unsanctioned Lights Out/Anything Goes Match. The long rivalry between the two AEW stars hit a climax at the end of the show.

Thunder Rosa picked up the pinfall victory after hitting a thunder driver off the apron and through a table. The wild match saw both wrestlers get busted open — Baker, in particular. Along with chairs, tables, and a ladder, thumbtacks were also introduced into the match with Baker taking a powerbomb on them at one point in the bout. Rosa picked up the pin fall victory after hitting a thunder driver off the apron and through a table.

AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida was seen watching on a monitor in the back, so it’s possible the winner of this match may take her on in the near future.

After her win, an emotional Rosa spoke to Tony Schiavone on the AEW Dynamite Post-Show.

“I’m very emotional right now,” said Rosa, while trying to hold back tears. “This means everything to me. As you guys know, I come from nothing. And seven months ago I came here [from NWA] to make a statement: and that was to put women’s wrestling on the map.”

She continued, “And tonight, with blood, sweat, and tears, I just showed you that women should be valued everywhere. And I’m very proud of this.”

Rosa, still under contract with NWA, thanked AEW fans for embracing her and believing in the Thunder Army.

“Thank you everybody for believing in me and the Thunder Army.”
