AEW Bringing “Brawl in the Ballpark” To MLB Stadium This July

AEW is continuing its recent trend of running shows from unconventional venues, and this summer the company will officially head to a Major League Baseball stadium for a special event.

Following the buzz surrounding AEW Collision: Fairway To Hell earlier this month at the SoFi Center’s indoor golf venue in Florida, AEW has now announced “Brawl in the Ballpark,” scheduled for Friday, July 10 at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The event will take place after the Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers game, marking another unique crossover presentation for the promotion.

The announcement was made during Tuesday night’s action at Target Field, where Minnesota natives Dante and Darius Martin of Top Flight appeared to hype the upcoming show. However, the segment quickly turned physical when Jeff Jarrett interrupted and blindsided the duo.

Jarrett didn’t hold back during his promo, taking shots at both the hometown crowd and the state itself.

“Every Minnesota Twin fan, as a matter of fact, the entire state of Minnesota is nothing but a bunch of pathetic losers. Friday night, July 10th, AEW is hosting Brawl in the Ballpark and I’m going to get the job done.”

So far, Jarrett and Top Flight are the only names publicly connected to the event, though more talent announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

One of the biggest questions surrounding the show is how AEW plans to use the baseball stadium layout. At Fairway To Hell, wrestlers incorporated golf course features like sand traps and putting greens into the action, helping the special stand out visually from standard arena broadcasts.

With Target Field now serving as the backdrop, fans are already speculating about possible entrances, stadium brawls, and creative use of the baseball diamond itself.

AEW has also released several VIP ticket options for the event, including:

  • VIP Ringside Package
  • Truly on Deck Package

Each package includes admission to the show and a complimentary Lucha Mask Hat. Fans who purchase the VIP Ringside package will receive reserved ringside seating, while the Truly on Deck experience offers elevated views overlooking the stadium setup.

As AEW continues experimenting with themed presentation concepts and non-traditional venues, “Brawl in the Ballpark” could end up being one of the company’s more visually distinctive events of the year.

Former WWE Star Enzo Reportedly Seen At WWE Performance Center – Big Bill’s AEW Contract Expiring Soon?

A familiar face from WWE’s past may be back on the company’s radar.

According to a report from False Finish, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore was recently spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. The outlet noted that Amore was present at the facility on Tuesday ahead of this week’s episode of WWE NXT on The CW.

False Finish shared the following update on X:

“False Finish has learned that former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore has been at the WWE Performance Center recently and was there yesterday ahead of #WWENXT.”

Amore’s WWE run came to an abrupt end in January 2018 after sexual assault allegations surfaced against him. WWE suspended him on January 22 before officially parting ways with him the following day. Later that year, the Phoenix Police Department closed the investigation without filing charges.

Since leaving WWE, Amore — who has performed under the name Real1 — has remained active on the independent wrestling scene. Over the years, he has appeared for promotions including MLW, GCW, House of Glory, and Northeast Wrestling while also pursuing music projects outside the ring.

The timing of the reported Performance Center visit has sparked speculation among fans due to another recent report involving Big Bill, formerly known in WWE as Big Cass.

Fightful Select reported back in April that Big Bill’s AEW deal could expire around late May or early June 2026. Bill has been largely absent from AEW programming in recent months, wrestling only a handful of matches this year and not appearing on television since a February episode of Collision.

With Amore reportedly back around WWE and Big Bill’s AEW future uncertain, talk of a potential Enzo & Cass reunion has naturally picked up online.

The duo became one of WWE’s most popular tag teams during their NXT and main roster run in the mid-2010s. Their charisma and crowd reactions helped make them standout acts on both brands before WWE split them up in 2017 with Cass turning on Enzo during an episode of Raw.

While they never captured tag team gold on the WWE main roster, the team was widely considered one of the hottest acts of that era. Big Cass eventually departed WWE in 2018 before rebuilding his career through IMPACT Wrestling, the independent scene, and eventually AEW as Big Bill.

At this point, there’s no official word regarding a WWE return for Amore, but his reported appearance at the Performance Center is already generating plenty of discussion about what could potentially be next.

Garrett Borden, Sting’s Son, Makes Pro Wrestling Debut At Dustin Rhodes’ Indie Promotion

Another member of Sting’s family has officially entered the wrestling world.

Garrett Borden, the son of WWE Hall of Famer and AEW legend Sting, recently made his in-ring debut at a Rhodes Wrestling Association event in Texas. Footage of the match surfaced online early Monday through JJA Sport Studio on X, giving fans their first look at Garrett in action.

The Rhodes Wrestling Association is operated by AEW veteran Dustin Rhodes, who also runs the Rhodes Wrestling Academy. In the clip making the rounds online, Garrett faced Brandon Barretta and showcased several moves tied closely to his father’s legacy. Among the highlights were multiple Sting Splashes and a big clothesline before he finished the bout with a Torture Rack-style Samoan Drop — a move that many fans connected to Lex Luger, Sting’s longtime friend and tag team partner.

Garrett’s wrestling debut comes as somewhat of a surprise, as there had been little public indication that he was training for a career in the business. His brother, Steven Borden, has been more visible on the wrestling scene over the last year after training alongside names like Darby Allin and FTR. Steven has already competed in dark matches for AEW and appeared for independent promotions including DEFY and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.

While Garrett’s training background hasn’t been confirmed, there is already a family connection to Dustin Rhodes’ school. Garrett’s wife, Kaetlyn Borden, previously trained under Rhodes and competed as “Jael” for the Rhodes Wrestling Association, Ring of Honor, and several other promotions before later transitioning into a backstage role with AEW.

Although this was Garrett’s first official match, longtime wrestling fans may remember seeing him years ago during Sting’s run in TNA Wrestling. He was briefly involved in a storyline with Jeff Jarrett during the mid-2000s. More recently, Garrett appeared alongside Steven during Sting’s retirement run in AEW in 2024.

The brothers played a memorable role at Sting’s final match at AEW Revolution, where they helped neutralize The Young Bucks after weeks of attacks on their father. Steven appeared dressed as Wolfpack Sting, while Garrett paid tribute to Sting’s classic Surfer Sting look during the surprise appearance.

With both of Sting’s sons now stepping into the wrestling spotlight, it’ll be interesting to see whether Garrett continues pursuing an in-ring career moving forward.

After the match, Guevara thanked the crowd for their support and gave praise to Rush.

Rush def. LSG

Rush steamrolled LSG in dominant fashion, ending the quick contest with the Bull’s Horns. Afterward, Rush grabbed a microphone to deliver his trademark catchphrase.

Shane Taylor Promotions Issue Open Challenge

Following their successful six-man title defense on ROH television, Shane Taylor and The Infantry celebrated in the ring. STP took shots at Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, and Mance Warner before issuing an open challenge to any trio willing to step up.

Mina Shirakawa & Queen Aminata def. Lacey Lane & Janai Kai

Mina Shirakawa and Queen Aminata scored a tag team victory after Mina shifted momentum with a double missile dropkick. Aminata neutralized Lane with a headbutt and submission hold while Mina forced Kai to tap out with a figure-four leglock.

Jay Lethal Sends Message To Samoa Joe And The Opps

Jay Lethal boasted about mentoring Blake Christian into a world title opportunity while also taking verbal shots at Samoa Joe. Lethal and Lee Johnson later challenged The Opps to a match on Collision.

The Rascalz def. Premier Athletes

The Rascalz overcame Premier Athletes in an energetic tag team match. After interference attempts were cut off, Dezmond Xavier and Myron Reed connected with a tandem double stomp/torture rack slam combination to put away Ari Daivari.

ROH Supercard of Honor Main Card Results

Nigel McGuinness def. Josh Woods (Pure Rules Match)

Nigel McGuinness used veteran savvy to defeat Josh Woods under Pure Rules. Both competitors burned through their rope breaks early as the match became increasingly physical. Woods nearly had Nigel beaten with submissions several times, but McGuinness caught him with a rebound lariat to secure the victory.

ROH Women’s World Television Championship

Red Velvet (c) def. Viva Van

Red Velvet retained the ROH Women’s World Television Championship after surviving a tough challenge from Viva Van. Van repeatedly attempted her electric chair suplex finisher, but Velvet consistently escaped. The champion ultimately capitalized during a pin exchange and landed a spinning kick to retain.

ROH World Television Championship

AR Fox (c) def. Lio Rush

AR Fox retained the ROH World Television Championship after outside drama involving Action Andretti changed the course of the match.

Lio Rush appeared close to victory before Andretti suddenly shoved him off the top rope. Andretti then revealed his frustrations afterward, claiming Lio ignored him and disrespected him. Fox took advantage of the chaos and finished Rush with a suplex and 450 splash.

Following the match, Andretti officially declared CRU finished.

Sammy Guevara Calls Out Darby Allin

Sammy Guevara revealed that ROH Tag Team Champion Beast Mortos is currently dealing with visa issues, delaying the next title defense. Guevara instead shifted focus toward singles gold and challenged Darby Allin to a match on Collision, which was later confirmed by commentary as official.

ROH Women’s Pure Championship

Deonna Purrazzo (c) def. Diamante

Deonna Purrazzo retained the Women’s Pure Championship in a submission-heavy battle centered around the armbar. Diamante targeted Purrazzo’s knee throughout the match and pushed the champion to the limit, but Purrazzo eventually trapped her in the Venus de Milo for the submission victory.

ROH Pure Championship

Lee Moriarty (c) def. Ace Austin

Lee Moriarty retained the ROH Pure Championship in a technical showcase against Ace Austin. After both men exhausted all available rope breaks, Moriarty used the now-legal rope leverage during a pinning combination to steal the victory.

Red Velvet Targets TBS Championship

Backstage, Red Velvet expressed frustration over being left out of the Owen Hart Tournament. She responded by signing Willow Nightingale’s open challenge for the TBS Championship on Collision.

The Kingdom Return

Jordan Oliver and Alec Price announced plans to chase the ROH Tag Team Titles before being interrupted by the returning Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. The Kingdom made it clear they intend to reclaim the division.

ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship

Dalton Castle & The Outrunners def. Shane Taylor & The Infantry (c)

Dalton Castle and The Outrunners answered STP’s open challenge and left with championship gold.

Castle exploded with suplexes after a hot tag before Shane Taylor briefly regained momentum with a package piledriver. The Outrunners broke up the pin attempt, allowing Castle to rebound with the Bangarang for the title-winning victory.

After the match, Shane Taylor Promotions attacked until Orange Cassidy and Mark Briscoe made the save.

AEW National Championship

Mark Davis (c) def. Xelhua

Mark Davis successfully defended the AEW National Championship against CMLL star Xelhua. The challenger attacked Davis’ arm and knee while using quick lucha offense to offset the champion’s power game. Davis eventually shut the door with a piledriver and a devastating clothesline.

Following the match, STP challenged The Conglomeration to a Collision showdown with title implications attached.

ROH World Championship

Bandido (c) def. Blake Christian

Bandido retained the ROH World Championship after overcoming Blake Christian and repeated interference from Jay Lethal and Lee Johnson.

Christian focused heavily on Bandido’s knee and nearly captured the title multiple times, including after a low blow and curb stomp. However, Bandido survived and countered another stomp attempt into a Styles Clash before connecting with a deadlift 21 Plex for the victory.

After the match, Swerve Strickland attacked Bandido with a House Call kick before driving him onto a chair with a vertebreaker.

ROH Women’s World Championship – Survival of the Fittest Match

Athena (c) def. Billie Starkz, Maya World, Trish Adora, Yuka Sakazaki & Zayda Steel

Athena survived a chaotic Survival of the Fittest main event to retain the ROH Women’s World Championship.

The match featured ladders, chairs, tables, and multiple eliminations throughout the brutal contest:

  • Zayda Steel was eliminated first after crashing into a chair setup and being pinned by Athena.
  • Trish Adora was eliminated after Yuka Sakazaki interrupted a potential pin on Athena.
  • Yuka was later pinned by Billie Starkz following an avalanche maneuver.
  • Starkz was eliminated by Maya World after confusion involving Athena.

The closing moments saw Maya World trap Athena in an ankle lock with no rope breaks available. Billie Starkz nearly threw in the towel before Athena dragged her into the ring to break the hold. Athena eventually recovered and delivered an O-Face off a ladder onto World to retain the championship.

The celebration didn’t last peacefully, as Athena berated Starkz afterward. Starkz stormed away while Athena celebrated alongside Diamante to close the show.

TNA Slammiversary 2026 Set For Afternoon Start To Avoid Direct Clash With AEW Forbidden Door

TNA Wrestling and AEW may both be running major pay-per-view events on June 28, 2026, but fans likely won’t have to choose between the two shows after all.

New details released by Ticketmaster and Boston’s Agganis Arena confirm that this year’s TNA Slammiversary will begin at 3 p.m. ET. The earlier start time creates a significant gap between Slammiversary and AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, which is scheduled to begin later that evening from the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

Forbidden Door is currently set for a 4 p.m. PT start time, meaning the AEW event won’t begin until 7 p.m. ET — giving viewers several hours between the two pay-per-views.

The scheduling setup appears designed to minimize overlap between the promotions, especially considering both events are among the bigger wrestling shows planned for the summer.

TNA originally announced Slammiversary for Boston before AEW revealed the date and location for Forbidden Door 2026. Reports later surfaced that AEW faced challenges locking down a venue and date for the crossover event. Chicago was reportedly considered as the original host city before the company settled on San Jose.

Had Forbidden Door taken place in Chicago, the time difference between the events would have been much smaller, potentially creating a more direct competition for viewers.

Slammiversary remains one of TNA’s flagship annual events and will serve as the company’s next major pay-per-view offering. Meanwhile, AEW still has Double or Nothing coming up later this month before turning its attention toward Forbidden Door in June.
