Tommy Dreamer Says Britt Baker Is Adding To The Disruptiveness Of AEW Locker Room

Tommy Dreamer feels that AEW star Britt Baker’s recent tweet criticizing AEW management could cause disruption in the promotion.

Baker, during this week’s “AEW Dynamite,” called out AEW on social media for not affording her promo time on AEW television in 2023. Dreamer discussed the comment by the former AEW Women’s World Champion on “Busted Open,” stating that it could be disruptive if it was a real criticism.

“I don’t think AEW needs any negative. As of today, this is deemed a negative up until [if] this is the reveal. If this is the reveal then, we all got got,” said Dreamer. “If it’s not, then it needs to be handled, and if it’s not handled, there will be more disruptiveness.”

Dreamer gave the example of The Miz as someone who made it work and has lasted a long time in WWE despite being treated poorly by his peers in his early years in the promotion. Dreamer discussed how The Miz put his head down and worked hard despite being ostracized by the locker room.

“There’s people who complained online about stuff in WWE, they were let go. There were, if I would say, hey, you don’t understand what this person went through, I did because I lived it through him, and it was The Miz. The Miz was put through hell,” said the former WWE star A different locker room, he was ostracized, you weren’t allowed to speak, it was made horrible for that young man. I like Miz, Miz’s my friend. From that, Miz has outlasted everybody. Did Miz go out on social media and say, ‘I’m dressing in a broom closet’? Miz ate it and then continued his hard work and whatever little, stupid spots he’s given, he got it over. And he’s been there forever.”

Baker hasn’t got on the mic in AEW this year and hasn’t wrestled since September when she lost the AEW TBS title match to Kris Statlander.

Bully Ray Says He Or Tommy Dreamer Could Draw 1 Million Viewers For AEW Dynamite

Jack Perry’s recent heel turn may have awakened the sleeping giant that is Extreme Championship Wrestling, with the newly-crowned FTW Champion berating the now-defunct company on the July 26 edition of “AEW Dynamite.” After defeating his former tag partner HOOK a week prior, Perry took aim at the iconic hardcore promotion and one of its biggest stars Taz (who’s also HOOK’s father), before being interrupted by AEW producer and former ECW wrestler Jerry Lynn.

With AEW President Tony Khan publicly expressing his love of ECW throughout the years, one of the company’s greatest performers — tag team legend and WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray – believes he could be the perfect person to help take Perry to the next level.

“If the story went down the ECW road and I showed up in the right town … there’s monster business to be done there,” Bully said on “Busted Open.”

“This is not me blowing smoke up my own ass … if you announced that Bully Ray, or even Tommy Dreamer to the matter, were showing up on ‘AEW Dynamite’ on whatever week it was, to come face-to-face and confront Jack Perry, you’re doing over a million viewers. Guaranteed.

“Tommy fits the part the best. Him and Taz were the bestest of best friends, Tommy was Taz’ best man at his wedding. The story is so deep, it’s there if you want to go down the ECW road. If you do go down that ECW road, you will make Jack Perry a bigger star at the end of this story than you can with any other talent that’s in ECW right now.”

Dreamer and Bully Ray have both remained active in recent months, while the likes of Rob Van Dam and Rhyno have also been suggested as potential opponents for Perry on social media. The likelihood of Taz being the ECW legend to topple Perry is minuscule, with the former world champion continuing to reiterate his retirement from in-ring competition.

Tommy Dreamer Says He’s Taking A Break From Wrestling, Thanks Impact Fans

Impact Wrestling shared a video of Tommy Dreamer in which he says he’s going to ‘go away for a while’ and thanked Impact fans. Dreamer defeated Bully Ray to win Hardcore War for his team at Rebellion last night.

He said: “I’ve known Frankie Kazarian since the original ECW, when he was just starting training. He came up with Killer Kowalski, and he got in the ring, and years later we joke about it, where he was like, ‘This was the greatest experience and the scariest experience in my life.’ Tonight was a pure example of what I love about professional wrestling. It’s an escape. It’s an escape for me. There’s no other place I wanted to be than the middle of that ring tonight. I have received so much love from the professional wrestling community. I just gotta say thank you. I’m gonna go away for a while because mentally, I’m not here, and I gotta get better. Somebody else needs my love. Yuya, Bhupinder, Killer Kelly, Frankie, I wish the world always sees through my eyes. When I walk out there, I see a whole mass of people from different countries, races, creeds, all showing their love for one thing, and that’s professional wrestling. It’s a beautiful world that I’ve lived in, and it’s gonna be the hardest one that I have to leave. But again, for tonight, I just want to say thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me. I have literally wrestled in front of billions of people. Thank you for today, thank you for everything. I love you guys.

Tommy Dreamer Releases Statement Regarding Dark Side of the Ring Appearance

Tommy Dreamer took to social media on Sunday to apologize for comments he made during the latest episode of Dark Side of the Ring.

It took a few days, but Tommy Dreamer has released a statement regarding his comments on the latest episode of Dark Side of the Ring. Dreamer has been taking a ton of heat over the past few days after seemingly downplaying the alleged sexual misconduct of Ric Flair during a WWE private charter flight dubbed “The Plane Ride from Hell. Dreamer was suspended indefinitely by IMPACT Wrestling as a result of the fallout of those comments.

Dreamer took to social media a few days after the episode aired. During the show, he suggested that Flair would never force himself upon a woman or act inappropriately when it comes to the topic of sexual misconduct. He called what Flair did a joke and that it was just Flair being Flair. He noted that people nowadays take offense to everything, and while it would be 1000% inappropriate now, it wasn’t really a big deal then and compared the story of Flair running around nearly naked to his own double ponytail. He also noted that perhaps the victim shouldn’t have settled out of court if she was bothered by all of this and charged Flair in an attempt to get him thrown in jail.

Needless to say, the comments were not well received by the massive audience Dark Side of the Ring brings in and Dreamer was suspended. It’s not clear when he’ll be back.

In his statement, Dreamer said, “Regarding my comments on Dark Side of the Ring. It was never my intention to offend, hurt or victim shame anyone.” He adds, “I understand my comments were insensitive and could trigger emotions in someone’s own personal past. I do not condone sexual misconduct of any kind.” He finished with, “I apologize to anyone I offended. From the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry.”

There are mixed reactions on social media to his apology. Some are saying he’s doing the right thing by acknowledging he made a mistake while others are saying he’s apologizing to the wrong person and that it’s hard to believe considering it appears the main reason he went on the show was to play down Flair’s actions.

It’s not clear where this all goes or if, once a certain amount of time goes by, he’ll be welcomed back to IMPACT Wrestling or his work with Busted Open Radio. Flair hasn’t made comments or released a statement since the show aired.

Tommy Dreamer Suspended By Impact After Dark Side Of The Ring Comments

Tommy Dreamer has been suspended indefinitely by Impact Wrestling following comments he made on Dark Side of the Ring.

Tommy Dreamer will not be at this week’s Impact tapings following comments he made on Dark Side of the Ring defending Ric Flair’s actions on the Plane Ride From Hell.

Impact Wrestling has revealed Tommy Dreamer has been suspended indefinitely from the promotion for comments he made defending allegations against Ric Flair during an appearance on Dark Side of the Ring. PW Insider reports that an email from Impact’s Ed Nordholm was sent to those within the promotion stating that Dreamer’s comments did not align with its core values.

Dark Side of the Ring returned to Vice this week to commence the second half of season three. The Plane Ride From Hell was covered in Thursday’s episode and it included the alleged actions of Ric Flair on that flight. Apparently, The Nature Boy spent part of the journey in nothing but an open robe, which was par for the course according to Tommy Dreamer who was also aboard the aircraft.

Heidi Doyle, a flight attendant on the Plane Ride From Hell, played a big role in the latest Dark Side episode. One of the darker allegations she made on the show was against Flair, claiming he attempted to force himself on her while naked in an open robe.

Dreamer came to the defense of Flair at that point in the episode, and it seems his controversial remarks may have landed him in hot water. According to Fightful, Impact staff have been told Dreamer will not be at this weekend’s tapings in Nashville. While not confirmed that Dreamer’s absence is related to his Dark Side comments, the timing makes it appear as if that’s the case.

“He’s just flaunting, styling and profiling, doing the Ric Flair stuff where everybody’s going to laugh about it. But obviously, someone took offense to it,” Dreamer said on this week’s episode of Dark Side. “If that’s how she felt, maybe she should have not taken a payout… I feel this is trying to portray someone as a sexual predator, and it’s not. It’s a joke. It’s a gag.”

Flair wasn’t a part of the episode, but a caption appeared on the screen clarifying the Hall of Famer denies all of the allegations made against him by Doyle. He also pre-empted the airing of the episode during a recent appearance on Oral Sessions, admitting that he wasn’t looking forward to it. The future of Dreamer with Impact Wrestling, or if his absence is connected to his Dark Side comments, will likely become clearer in the coming days.

Tommy Dreamer On House Of Hardcore’s HUGE Weekend, Talent Used Signing With WWE, His Diverse Roster

Image result for Tommy Dreamer House of Hardcore

Today The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling welcomes back the one and only “Innovator Of Violence” and ECW Original, Tommy Dreamer. Promoting the upcoming HUGE weekend for his House of Hardcore promotion (tonight in Freehold, NJ at iPlay America and Saturday night at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia) Dreamer opens up on how his shows have helped Independent pro wrestling and how his vision for a “NO POLITICS, NO BS” environment has proven to be a great destination for all kinds of wrestling talent. The full episode can be downloaded at this link.

What he has in store for his HOH shows Friday night in NJ and Saturday in Philly:

“Booking is easy. Availability is a different thing and with these shows at first I was like what am I going to do with this? All of a sudden I have a lot of and when I tell you this it is that I have too many people for these two shows. The fans are going to see two great things and the only way they are going to see these shows (because) it is not going to be on any streaming device and you are going to have to attend it to see it. I have not advertised one match for The Arena and my advance is huge and I did that purposely. I wanted to see what I had and I also want to see how much my fans trust what I am doing.”

“If you look at everybody on the poster they will all be there and I’ve got a bunch of surprises for you and if that doesn’t wet you whistle than the Rock N’ Roll Express will be there and they’ve never wrestled in The Arena as a tag team and you can say goodbye to Bobby Fish. He’s not a huge House of Hardcore guy but he was a huge Ring of Honor guy and he wrestled in that building a million times. I love to be able to offer people a goodbye and let them say goodbye to the audience that has watched them grow and I am as happy as can be for Bobby Fish, I wish I had Kyle O’ Reilly (I do not) but with Bobby Fish I am happy he is finally able to go to NXT.”

Does he get frustrated when talent he uses regularly depart for WWE:

“House of Hardcore 34 and 35 are coming up and I was doing something to lead to something else and my friend went through all of the guys (we’ve had) and he said that thirty nine people that have wrestled for you are all working for WWE and I thought that was cool. At first when that would happen I would get mad and thought I would find more stars and use this as a different platform because until I am able to sign guys to contracts than I am okay with it. They will remember for some guys that they had some breaks and got to hang out and work The Arena and work in a lot of cool places.”

Ideas on how to put a House of Hardcore card together:

“I am always excited for myself the performer because this main event we’ve got I wrestled it in Australia and it was myself, MVP and Jack Swagger and when I want guys to bring it to me, they brought it to me and I loved it. The match was so good that I wanted to showcase it another on one of my shows and I get the opportunity when guys are free and I am able to do that. I had assisted them in both of their WWE careers and I am blessed to do that with guys. MY “MVP” is usually Sami Callihan for the amount of great wrestling that he does and for the first time ever (vs. Bully Ray) at iPlay. Bobby Fish who is now no more and he’ll be in NXT now will wrestle Rhett Titus and I am the biggest Rhett Titus fan. When I see someone of his talent and what he does and see how hungry he still is I will take ten Rhett Titus’ over anybody else. When you put these things together even thought it is my money, you do what the fans want to see and I am happy.”

Personal favorite matches of his in HOH:

“Me and Matt Hardy had something special. Me and Ethan Carter had something special, me and Eric Young, me and Bobby Roode and I’ve been blessed to piggy back off of a lot of stuff when I was doing stuff with TNA. Some of my favorite matches from House of Hardcore are me versus Cody Rhodes for the emotional aspect of his father being my hero and I hired Cody into WWE and I love Cody’s work and what he has become post WWE. Me and Billy Gunn in Australia took on The Young Bucks and it was the main event in Australia and billed its as The Young Bucks versus The Old Bucks that don’t give a f*ck. I do a lot of joking on my Facebook and when I saw advertisements for it and told them I was kidding, I was just happy that they put a star “F”.”

Comparing the growth of HOH to the evolution of ECW:

“It’s funny because when the original ECW started we were just an indy and it was a company that was running once a month or once every other month. The beauty of ECW and you can watch it on the WWE Network but you can watch the company grow and if you watch those TV tapings and watch the dates you can watch the audience grow and grow.”

“I’ve had that and I try to give that back and if I can’t I’ve had so many people (like) Matt Hardy. He would sit at the curtain and watch guys matches and when me and Matt got ready to wrestle that night than Bubba would watch the matches and even Christian did. Christian had not attended an Independent event in forever but he wanted to hang out and chill in the back and watch it. I asked him to be my eyes and if you see something you like than tell me and if you see something that you don’t tell me or better yet tell them. I love that.”

Tommy Dreamer Nearly Loses Eye (Photo)

Tommy Dreamer had a close call with his dogs as one of them pawed him in the eye, Dreamer tells the story below:

“Scary day, I almost lost my eye. Was in bed in am petting my dog. Switched to pet the other & he lunged forward to get more scratching & he put his paw right in my eye. I’ve never felt so much pain & I’ve been on fire, in barbed wire tacks & hit in balls w/a cane that knocked me out. Went to Dr, scratched cornea, it ripped my contact in half, we can’t find other half. Dr said contact probably saved my eye. Pain is pretty intense Can’t open it. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.”
