Former WWE Superstar Danielle Moinet, f.k.a. Summer Rae in WWE, will be returning to the ring for Battle Championship Wrestling in Melbourne, Australia on Friday, May 25th. She will face Ivelisse in the second half of the first round of the BCW Women’s Championship Tournament at the Whitehorse Function and Convention Centre. Moinet, who was released by WWE last October, hasn’t wrestled since August of 2016 after she suffered neck and back injuries. She was cleared to return to action by WWE in May of 2017, but was never used.

WWE Star Summer Rae Cleared To Return

Summer Rae has reportedly been cleared to return to action. Dave Meltzer reported on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that she is healthy and was at last week’s television tapings.

Rae has been out of action since last August due to neck and back injuries. She was training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando in March.

Meltzer speculated that WWE may be holding her off of television because the company has an even number of women on each brand. However, it should be noted that with Lana’s impending debut and Emma’s recent injury, both brands need one more woman to even out their respective active women’s division.

WWE currently has Summer Rae listed on the RAW brand on their website.

RAW Star Returning To SmackDown Soon?, News On Possible SmackDown Women’s Title Match Participants

Summer Rae was apparently training for her return at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Summer has been out of action since last summer with a knee injury.

While Summer has not appeared on WWE TV since the Draft after being sent to the RAW roster, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there’s talk of bringing her back to the SmackDown roster with an appearance at WrestleMania 33 in the SmackDown Women’s Title match.

Regarding that match, graphics have confirmed that it will be Alexa Bliss defending against Becky Lynch, Mickie James, Carmella and Natalya but it’s possible we also see appearances by Naomi, Tamina Snuka, Eva Marie and Summer. There’s also been rumors of a stipulation being added to the match.

The Observer adds that it’s also possible we see former WWE Superstars return for the SmackDown Women’s Title match. We’ve noted how the company contacted several women from the past about appearing at WrestleMania 33 for an angle or match that has been kept secret. Kelly Kelly and Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria) were among those contacted about working for the company in Orlando that Sunday.

Summer Rae Confirms She’s Injured In Lengthy Social Media Post

WWE Superstar Summer Rae has been injured for months, despite staying quiet about the situation … and now the wrestler has finally opened up about why she kept it under wraps.

Pro Wrestling Sheet exclusively reported back in September that Summer had been dealing neck, back and elbow issues that were keeping her from the ring — and now she admits she expected to heal sooner.

Summer explains, “I assumed it would be an easy fix & wouldn’t take that long to get back to normal. That it wouldn’t take this long to not only fix but diagnose as well. That alone is so frustrating.”

“In this business you just go go go & putting your body on the line every night becomes second nature & you don’t think much of it. But that isn’t a normal thing.” Adding, “Our bodies aren’t made to do this. But you forget that when you hear the roar of the crowd! I’ve been so humbled by the overwhelming support towards me on social media & seeing the fans outpouring love & passion.”

As we previously reported, Summer had been in pain for months and stopped wrestling once MRI results determined how bad the injury was. She last wrestled in mid-August.

She closes by saying, “It’s been one of the most frustrating times of my life filled with so many different emotions. Generally speaking, the unknown is scary. But thru the greatest times of uncertainty in my life have come immeasurable things.”

Ed’s Perspective: Future of Diva’s Division Looks Bright

Paige

Emma

This past Thursday night, I totally enjoyed my first night of doing live updates on Wrestling Inc.com of TNA’s Impact. There was one major drawback though. I missed seeing live the amazing match on the WWE Network between Diva’s Paige, the NXT Women’s Champion, and Emma. I did however get to watch later – one of the awesome features of having subscribed to the WWE Network.

If this match was any indication, the future of the Diva’s Division looks so bright that we are all gonna need shades (ok that really is a corny music reference, but I couldn’t resist).

Watch the entire match

Both ladies show awesome in ring skills, and their athletic abilities are outstanding. I’m sure some might say they still need a little work, but let’s keep things in perspective. This match, which was of RAW or Smackdown quality, happened in a developmental promotion.

Do a little research, and you will find this about Paige:

Determined to redefine the Divas division in WWE, this fan favorite from England isn’t your “typical” female competitor. This 20-year-old, who hails from a family of professional wrestlers, has already been competing in the ring  for seven years!

Here is a little more about her wrestling heritage when asked about what it was like growing up in a wrestling family, “It was amazing. What better way to learn an amazing craft than from people you love and trust completely? My family had a strong following so I was always in their shadow, which is understandable. But I wanted to make a path of my own and make my family proud in the process!”

Now about Emma.

We have gotten used to seeing Emma’s pretty face on WWE broadcasts and recently saw her in a match with Summer Rae. You’ve got to see the amazing submission maneuver that she used to get Summer Rae to tap out with. If  you don’t want to watch the entire video (you should) you can got to the 1:50 mark and see an just how great the move was.

Between the match with Paige and this finisher on Summer Rae it looks to me that the sky is the limit for this Austrailian born superstar.

As her profile on WWE.com ends, “While it remains to be seen what the future holds for Emma, one thing’s for sure: The #EMMAlution has begun.”

Add to that, the surely eminent call up for Paige based on the release of her own T-shirt on WWE.com, plus the remarks of Stephanie McMahon and fans of women’s wrestling (notice I didn’t say Divas) have a lot to look forward to in the WWE.
