Shawn Michaels Names Johnny Gargano As Grayson Waller’s Opponent At WWE NXT Stand & Deliver

The ongoing feud between Grayson Waller and WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels has escalated to the “NXT” Stand & Deliver premium live event. During Tuesday night’s special Roadblock episode, Michaels was a guest on “The Grayson Waller Effect.”

During the segment, Waller challenged Michaels to a match, which is when Michaels revealed that former “NXT” Champion and current “Raw” Superstar Johnny Gargano was going to be Waller’s opponent instead. Gargano and Waller have a history that goes all the way back to Gargano’s farewell to “NXT” in December 2021. As he was ending his farewell speech, Waller came out from behind and attacked him. Gargano’s last “NXT” match before he went to the main roster was at the “NXT” WarGames 2021 event.

Waller started his feud with Michaels when he crashed the Vengeance Day post-show media call and was “suspended” for his behavior. Waller returned on the February 14 episode of “NXT,” when he was kicked out of the arena after confronting Michaels backstage. While Waller was being escorted out of the building, he called the WWE Hall of Famer “a hypocrite and a suit” and that “HBK doesn’t exist anymore.”

“NXT” Stand & Deliver is set for April 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. It will be on the same day as night one of WrestleMania 39 and will be starting at 1 PM ET. The only other match announced for Stand & Deliver is Bron Breakker defending the “NXT” Championship against Carmelo Hayes in the main event.

WWE Hall of Famer & Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels has announced the first Iron Survivor Challenge matches for the WWE NXT brand.

Michaels appeared in a pre-recorded video on Tuesday night’s NXT show and stated that while NXT is all about developing stars of tomorrow, the brand is also about developing innovation. Michaels announced that the Iron Survivor Challenge, a revolutionary new match never before seen in WWE history, will take place at NXT Deadline on Saturday, December 10. Michaels then revealed the following information:

* Two Iron Survivor Challenge matches will be held, one for the men’s division and one for the women’s division.

* The winner will be dubbed the Iron Survivor, and they will be the new #1 contender for a future title shot at the NXT Championship or the NXT Women’s Championship.

* The participants’ names will be released in the coming weeks.

Shawn Michaels promoted to WWE Vice President of Talent Development Creative

Shawn Michaels has been given a promotion in WWE.

Following his retirement in 2010 after losing to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26, “HBK” took time away from wrestling to be with his family and do other things while occasionally making appearances on WWE television.

Michaels started helping at the Performance Center in late 2016 before becoming a trainer for the finishing class alongside Terry Taylor the following year. In 2018, he started working as a writer and producer for the NXT brand alongside Triple H, who oversaw the creative of the brand.

Michaels stepped up in September 2021 when his good friend was sidelined due to health issues and started running the day-to-day operations of NXT and being in charge of creative.

As previously reported, WWE announced that NXT UK will be rebranded as NXT Europe starting in 2023. NXT UK will go on hiatus before the relaunch. NXT UK will be part of the premium live event, Worlds Collide, with NXT next month.

Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics pointed out that Michaels has been given a new title of WWE Vice President of Talent Development Creative.

Ric Flair Apologizes To Shawn Michaels

WWE legend Ric Flair took to social media to promote his appearance at the Greater Austin Comic Con. Before getting into the details of the event, Flair took a brief moment to apologize to Shawn Michaels after Flair called Michaels out in a previous social media post following his health scare in May.

“Three weeks ago, I got out,” Flair said. “Still alive. Still happy to be here and getting ready to take off for Austin, Texas.

“I wanted to take one moment to apologize to Shawn Michaels. Shawn, I got excited. I was upset about some stuff and took it out on you. I apologize. You and Ricky Steamboat will always be the greatest wrestlers I’ve ever been in the ring with. Let’s leave it at that.”

Flair suffered a medical emergency in May which eventually led to him undergoing a successful heart surgery days later. Following his release from the hospital, Flair released two social media videos titled ‘Back In Action Parts 1 & 2’. The videos showed Flair energetically cheering himself on his youthful energy while simultaneously highlighting the severity of his medical scare. During the videos, Flair thanked his friends while also calling out Michaels.

“Shawn Michaels, I’m sorry… you’re not in a position to judge me, buddy,” Flair said at the time. “Telling me I’ll never know who Richard Fliehr is. Do you think I’ll ever know? I don’t know. Richard Fliehr, like I said before, was an irresponsible kid who was blessed with the greatest parents in the world, did everything wrong.

“By the way, who are you to judge me? I mean, really? Come on, man. Let’s get serious. You’ve opened the door and I’m giving it back to you. Who are you to judge me, are you kidding me? You idolized me and then all the sudden contempt, for what? For what you grew up loving and for what you inspired me to be, who you are. I don’t think so, man.”

Shawn Michaels has not responded to Flair’s video. Greater Austin Comic Con is scheduled to start June 15 through June 16 in Cedar Park, Texas. Flair scheduled to appear with former pro wrestling legends Kevin Nash and Razor Ramon.

Ric Flair Shares Video Update, Says It’s Once Again A Miracle He’s Alive, Addresses Comments Shawn Michaels Made On ESPN 30 For 30

“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair has updated his fans saying he’s better than ever in a new video, but states it’s once again a miracle he’s alive.

Flair posted a video on YouTube titled “Back in Action: Part One” in which he begins by thanking everyone for their support. He then explains that he had tubes down his throat for four days so his voice is sore.

Ric continued, “First of all, thank you … to my beautiful family, to all my friends, to all the doctors, nurses, everybody that brought me back again. It’s a miracle again!”

The 70-year-old then claimed his recent trip to the hospital was a 1.8 million dollar tuneup and added, “thank God for insurance!”

“But it’s ok, because I lived,” Flair exclaimed. “And I’m living here to tell you that the kiss-stealing, wheeling and dealing, limousine riding, jet-flying, son of a gun is not gonna change, slow down, I’m gonna move forward. I got autographs to sign. Commercials to make. Pictures to take. Friends to have a cold beer with. And I mean two cold beers if it’s Stone Cold. Do you understand that?!”

As you may recall, Ric Flair said he was attempting to quit alcohol in ’17 after his first medical scare.

Flair angrily explains at two different points that he knows who wasn’t there for him during his recent trip to the hospital and he plans to address this in a second video.

The WWE Hall of Famer also talks negatively about Richard Fliehr, his real name, but notes that Ric Flair became “The Man.”

“I’m never gonna get old,” Flair yelled after explaining his pop culture influence. “I don’t care how many doctors tell me ‘you’ve got to learn to grow up’ … I’m not gonna act like my age. DON’T EVER TELL ME THAT! I’m paying you to make me better so that I can be me! That’s me. And that’s all I’m ever gonna be.”

He also said one person wasn’t there for him recently and he planned to address this in a follow-up video.

ESPN’s 30 for 30 on Ric Flair featured many legends talking about his life, but “The Nature Boy” has a bone to pick with something Shawn Michaels specifically said.

In the second video posted early Friday morning, Flair begins by saying that while in a coma for 12 days he actually spoke with God and begged for his mercy.

Ric goes on to thank Jim Ross for comments he made in the 30 for 30 special … but his feelings towards comments made by HBK are very different.

“Shawn Michaels, I’m sorry but you’re not in a position to judge me,” he sternly stated. “I’ll never know who Richard Fliehr is? Really?” He then explains how he does know himself.

For those who don’t recall, Shawn Michaels gave his take on Flair in the ESPN special and said “Ric doesn’t love Richard Fliehr.” Adding, “I don’t know that he’s ever taken the time to get to know him [Richard Fliehr] or to find out who in the world he is.”

“C’mon man, let’s get serious,” Ric continued in the video. “You’ve opened the door so I’m giving it back to ya. Who are you to judge me?! I mean are you kidding me?! You IDOLIZED me and then all of a sudden contempt. For what?! For what you grew up loving? What inspired you to be who you are. I don’t think so, man!”

The 70-year-old then re-iterated that he doesn’t plan to get old and loves being young. “You can’t stop me now, baby … I got my wheels on the ground,” he added before signing off.

Flair’s famous WWE retirement match in 2008 was against Shawn Michaels.

WWE Confirms DX In The 2019 WWE Hall Of Fame Class, Triple H On Chyna’s WWE HOF Induction

WWE and ESPN have confirmed that DX will be going into the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame class during WrestleMania 35 weekend. It will be Chyna, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, Billy Gunn, “Road Dogg” BG James, Triple H and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels going in together as a group.

“I think it’s the most meaningful for us all to go in together and to be recognized together,” Triple H told ESPN. “Because I think both groups were [just] as impactful.”

Triple H told ESPN that the idea to induct DX as a group had been “swirling around” for some time before a few key events and decisions allowed everything to slide right into place.

“It’s a funny thing, because DX was something that, before Kevin [Nash] and Scott [Hall] left, at the time we all talked about using ‘The Kliq’ as it was — kind of morphing that into television, since it was so out there anyways,” Triple H said. “But things worked out the way they did — they left, and the timing was right. Shawn and I still wanted to do it. Vince saw the value in it, I guess, and finally let us go at it. By that point in time I was looking for a heater, and we had brought Chyna.”

ESPN noted how fans have wanted Chyna’s role in WWE history to be better recognized, and how her induction with DX is a major step forward in that regard. Triple H said Chyna absolutely deserves to be in the Hall.

“Look, people believe what they want to believe. When I said a few years ago on the Austin podcast, or show, or whatever you want to call it, there’s complexities around it,” said Triple H. “But absolutely, definitely deserves to be in there. It’d be tough to pick a female that was more impactful on the business. She did something that was completely so out of left field that it wasn’t even being considered when we first brought it up for her to come in. It wasn’t even a consideration… it wasn’t an easy thing, and against all odds she did all of that. She earned everybody’s trust. She won over the fans. She won over the boys. She did all of it. From that standpoint, absolutely 100 percent deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, and should probably be more than once — as a group, but individually as well. There’s more complexity to that than meets the eye, but here we are. I’m just happy that it’s here. I’m happy for her family, the people that she was close to, that hopefully this is super meaningful to them. I know it would be to her. It’s a great thing — very deserving.”

Below is WWE’s full announcement on the induction:

D-Generation X to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019Are you ready?

As first reported by ESPN, D-Generation X, the most rebellious group in WWE history, are the first inductees in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019. As first reported by ESPN, Triple H, Shawn Michaels (who now joins Ric Flair as a two-time inductee), Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, X-Pac and the late Chyna will take their place in sports-entertainment history during the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 6, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., during WrestleMania 35 Week. Tickets for the ceremony will be available starting Friday, Feb. 22, at 12 p.m. ET.

DX was born out of the friendship between Shawn Michaels and Triple H, along with Chyna and their “insurance policy,” “Ravishing” Rick Rude. The two pals were lewd, rude and in-your-face, bucking authority and letting anyone in their way know that they had two words for them. Their penchant for crossing the line with regularity led to Bret “Hit Man” Hart calling Michaels “nothing more than a degenerate,” which HBK embraced, sparking the idea behind the alliance’s name.

When Michaels went on a hiatus from the squared circle following WrestleMania XIV, Triple H expanded the membership of the group, welcoming in The New Age Outlaws, Road Dogg & Billy Gunn, and the cocky X-Pac. Though you might not think it would be possible, the new DX turned up the irreverence to 11 and helped lead WWE into the Attitude Era. DX’s defiance wasn’t just limited to WWE. In one of the most infamous and groundbreaking moments of the era, the rebels hopped aboard a tank and drove from Monday Night Raw to rival WCW’s Monday Nitro, launching one of the biggest attacks in The Monday Night War.

The group eventually went their separate ways, but the DX name would not be limited to the history books after that. Following a long rivalry against each other, Michaels and Triple H patched things up and donned the green and black once again. The reunited DX may have only been the tag team of The Game & HBK, but that did not stop them from making Mr. McMahon’s life a living hell. The two troublemakers were a thorn in the side of the WWE Chairman, subjecting him to a flurry of pranks, even going so far as to vandalize Mr. McMahon’s personal limo and jet, and leaving their mark on the façade of WWE’s world headquarters. But it wasn’t only fun and games for Michaels & Triple H, as they also captured the WWE Tag Team Championship along the way.

Even though they disbanded once again and moved on to other roles within the industry, the DX Army maintained a close bond, and the tight-knit unit got the band back together for special occasions like Monday Night Raw’s 25th Anniversary, where they shared a “too sweet” moment with the Bálor Club.

And now, D-Generation X will enter the annals of sports-entertainment history. What will the rebels have to say when they take their place in the WWE Hall of Fame? Find out during the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 6, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. during WrestleMania 35 Week. Tickets for the ceremony will be available starting Friday, Feb. 22, at 12 p.m. ET. Don’t miss your chance to witness history!

The Undertaker and Kane take out Triple H and Shawn Michaels on RAW (Video)

Image result for The Undertaker and Kane take out Triple H and Shawn Michaels on RAW

Shawn Michaels was on RAW to talk about the Triple H vs. The Undertaker match this Saturday in Australia at WWE Super Show-Down.

Excerpt courtesy of WrestleView‘s Mike Tedesco’s RAW recap:

Michaels has the utmost respect for The Undertaker, but any day of the week and twice on Sunday he’d pick his best friend over anybody on God’s green earth. That upset The Undertaker. Undertaker made this personal. Undertaker has Kane in his corner, so Triple H has his brother in his corner. Michaels warns Kane about crowding the ring. If he does, he’ll be brushed back with some Sweet Chin Music.

Kane’s music hits, and the Mayor of Knoxville County appears behind Michaels in the ring. Michaels turns around, and Kane uppercuts him down.

The bell tolls, and Undertaker appears standing in the ring next to Kane! The crowd is going crazy. Undertaker stands over Michaels and signals for the end. Undertaker lifts him up for a Tombstone Piledriver, but Triple H’s music hits! Triple H comes down and punches away at Undertaker. Kane grabs Triple H, but he punches him back. Triple H goes back to punching Undertaker, but Kane grabs him by the throat. Triple H attacks, so Undertaker grabs him. Undertaker hits a Chokeslam on Triple H while Kane hits one on Shawn Michaels (who has a shaved head!). Undertaker and Kane stand tall in the ring before stopping when Triple H comes to. Undertaker then lays him out with a Tombstone Piledriver! Undertaker and Kane then walk up the ramp and pose.
