WWE Quietly Advertising Hulk Hogan For Crown Jewel

Without any announcement from WWE, Hulk Hogan was quietly added to list of talent scheduled to appear at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

It’s unclear when Hulk was added to the Crown Jewel page on WWE.com, but if he makes an appearance at the event it will be his first time back on WWE TV since the summer of 2015.

Hulk told the Orlando Sentinel last week he was looking forward to going to Saudi Arabia with WWE … but didn’t specify at Crown Jewel. “We’re moving forward at a rapid pace,” Hogan told them. “It’s exciting to have this opportunity again after all these years where I was there and gone.”

In case you missed it, Daniel Bryan and John Cena refused to work the event and were both written out of their scheduled Crown Jewel matches this week on RAW and SmackDown Live

Renee Young will surprisingly be on the announce team in Riyadh. No word yet, however, on what sort of rules she’ll have to follow due to the country’s numerous regulations for women.

The date of Crown Jewel is rapidly approaching and Hulk Hogan dropped an interesting quote in a new interview that might fuel speculation over a surprise appearance.

Hogan was interviewed by the Orlando Sentinel and the topic of his recent return to WWE was touched upon. “There are a lot of plans in the works,” Hogan told them.

Adding, “I’m looking forward to going to Saudi Arabia with the WWE, looking forward to WrestleMania — but yeah, we’re moving forward at a rapid pace. It’s exciting to have this opportunity again after all these years where I was there and gone.”

WWE’s current contract with the Saudi Arabian government is a long-term deal, so Hulk could just be speaking generally. As of this writing, there’s been no announcement from WWE saying Hulk will be at Crown Jewel. However, they have been heavily promoting his upcoming nWo reunion event.

Hogan finished the interview saying he’d like to be WWE’s Babe Ruth and used as a “hood ornament” for the company going forward.

“I sure would love to be a part of the WrestleManias and the big events and the grand openings and the new conquests of the WWE,” he explained. “Saudi Arabia! Hong Kong! China! Antarctica! The North Pole! Whatever it is, I’d like to be part of the ongoing growth of the wrestling business, and be with WWE the whole time, that’s the only place to be.”

Hulk Hogan Says Wrestlers Who Didn’t Accept His Apology Don’t Understand Brotherhood Of Wrestling

hulk hogan interview extreme rules apology brotherhood wrestling

The backstage apology Hulk Hogan gave to the WWE roster was not accepted by everyone, and in a new interview Hulkster says those Superstars don’t understand the brotherhood of wrestling.

Hogan was a guest on the new podcast The Apter Chat with Bill Apter and spoke in-depth about WWE welcoming him back. Hulk says it first began with a text from Triple H checking in on him, as well as subsequent texts every few months making sure he was doing alright.

The former WWF champ says ideas eventually got thrown around for how he could contribute to the company again — Hogan briefly mentions Saudi Arabia without further detail — but ultimately Hulk told Hunter he really wanted to talk with Vince McMahon again.

Vince reached out not long after, according to Hogan, and they caught up like it was old times.

Triple H contacted Hulk again months later and asked if there was anything he’d like to do in wrestling, to which he said yes. Hunter and McMahon then said the first thing they’d like him to do is have a conversation with the black wrestlers about everything that occurred.

“I said no, I’m not gonna do it,” Hogan explained. “If I come back, I want to talk to everybody. Because what I did not only hurt the business, it hurt white, black, every athlete you have. Japanese. Everybody that’s involved and loves this business. What I said hurt this business.”

The 65-year-old went on to detail his conversation with the roster at Extreme Rules, saying he apologized for the terrible words he said 12-years prior. Hogan doesn’t believe, however, that the focus was on wrestlers not getting caught on camera doing bad things — even if it was mentioned.

Hulk explained, “A lot of people accepted my apology. And a lot of people heard what they wanted to hear and a lot of the narrative that came out of the meeting was on point. A lot of the narrative was really different. I was surprised to hear some people interpreted what I said that I was just sorry I got caught on camera, or whatever they interpreted, but I never said that.”

As you may recall, New Day and Titus O’Neil both spoke out after the meeting. O’Neil said the apology lacked remorse and New Day claimed they wouldn’t associate with Hulk until “genuine effort to change is made.”

In the interview, Hogan had something to say about those who didn’t accept his apology.

“I just hope the brotherhood can get back to the way it was,” Hulk remarked. “Outside the ring, you’re supposed to protect your brother. In this case, it’s a situation where 75, 80, 90 percent of the wrestlers are protecting me and they’re giving me another chance to move forward. There’s just a few wrestlers that kinda like don’t understand the bond and the brotherhood of wrestling. If someone makes a mistake, you need to forgive them and move on and try to let them prove themselves.”

The video also shows Hogan spray-painting a World Heavyweight Title belt and commenting on how he still has his swagger.

Hulk Hogan Teases “Biggest Day Ever” In NWO-Related Announcement (VIDEO)

Hulk Hogan is known for strange announcements via Twitter, but it appears there’s some legitimacy behind his latest social media statement.

On Sunday morning, the Hulkster tweeted October 27th would be the “biggest day ever” and that “history will be made again in the world of wrestling.” He added a “2 Sweet” and “Hollywood Hogan 4 Life” just for good measure.

This followed a similar announcement Saturday during an appearance at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland.

“All the brothers out here with the nWo shirts on, something really special is going to be going down,” Hogan told the crowd. “It’s getting crazy for life!”

The Hulkster then pushed folks to HulkHogan.com for more information. When you visit the site, there’s a countdown clock marking the days, hours, and minutes to October 27.

This coincides with videos Hogan has been posting where the screen temporarily morphs into the style used in old school nWo promos. The Wrestling Sheet Radio crew discussed their theories behind the teases on the latest episode of the show.

It’s worth noting Hogan was recently spotted alongside Scott Hall and Kevin Nash taping material in nWo gear. WWE owns the nWo trademark and still sells merchandise touting the black and white.

Titus O’Neil On Why Hulk Hogan Lost Him At The Start Of His Apology

Image result for Titus O'Neil: Hulk Hogan's Apology Not Remorseful

The WWE locker room gathered backstage before Extreme Rules for a mandatory meeting because Hulk Hogan had something to say. During his speech, Hogan apologized for embarrassing the company and said he didn’t know he was being recorded at the time.

Audio of Hogan using several racial slurs while discussing his daughter Brooke Hogan dating an African American surfaced in July 2015. He was engaged in a lawsuit with Gawker at the time for releasing snippets of a sex tape recorded without his consent, which contained the slurs.

Hogan’s apology was accepted by some, but others felt differently. Titus O’Neil spoke to Busted Open Radio this week and discussed Hogan’s apology. Mark Henry, who is a co-host on the program, said Hogan didn’t just offend African Americans with his comments. Henry has Caucasian friends who think Hogan shouldn’t be allowed back with the company, but The World Strongest Man admitted to getting second and third chances himself. Therefore, he is accepting of Hogan’s reinstatement.

During Hogan’s apology, he started the speech by warning the locker room about what they say because they might be recorded without their knowledge. O’Neil talked about how that statement didn’t sit well with him.

“This is not about second or third chances,” Titus O’Neil explained. “This is about a man making a decision to make statements that he truly felt in his heart I believe at that time. He may not feel that way now, he may regret it. But to come out and say, ‘I didn’t know I was being recorded’ and ‘ be careful what you say’ and ‘I don’t remember saying that stuff.’ When you start out an apology like that. Dude, you lost it already. I wanted to give him a chance, I didn’t know what that meeting was about going in but I wanted to give him a chance.

“He legitimately screwed that all up because again, it’s not about making a mistake. It’s not a mistake. You’re talking about historically using language and saying things that a lot of people in our business unfortunately have said in the past. Although our business has come a long way from where it used to be, there are still some people in this business that speak that way they just aren’t recorded. So Hulk Hogan or Terry Bollea is not the only person that have used those type of comments. I know that for a fact.”

O’Neil continued saying Hogan is the one dealing with these comments because he was caught making them. He said Hogan’s apology should be more than just words because genuine actions are needed as well.

“He was the one that was exposed to using those comments so he’s the one who needs to handle the situation publically on a consistent basis with his apology. His apology doesn’t need to be in words, I’d rather it not be in words. I’d rather it be in action to be honest with you, because his words have been all over the place ever since it came out.”

During a 2015 interview with ABC News’ Amy Robach, Hogan explained why he used racial slurs in the released audio. He attributed it to his upbringing in Port Tampa, Florida where he said the word was thrown around quite often as a greeting.

“I’m not a racist, but I never should have said what I said. It was wrong. I’m embarrassed by it,” Hogan said in the the 2015 interview. “People need to realize that you inherit things from your environment. And where I grew up was south Tampa, Port Tampa, and it was a really rough neighborhood, very low income. And all my friends, we greeted each other saying that word.”

O’Neil referenced Hogan’s excuse of growing up with that language in his vocabulary. He said Hogan’s claims didn’t match up historically because it would not be acceptable to use that word with any African American in the 1960’s. O’Neil is from Tampa and attested to the fact that Hogan’s high school was not racially diverse either.

“First of all you grew up in the 60’s. I don’t know any black man that would let you call him that in the 60’s. You grew up in South Tampa, you went to Robinson High School. I live in Tampa, Robinson High School was not a predominantly black school in the time that he went to high school. Most of the people he wrestled with, Mike Graham — Eddie Graham’s kid — you know Steve Keirn, these guys all went to high school with him.

“So don’t tell me that’s how you spoke in the 60’s. There’s no realistic way that you can even come close to telling me that was okay with any black man at that time. So again, the inconsistencies of the apology along with the lack of remorse and contrition with the apology are the reason why I felt and many others felt at that meeting that this was a complete waste of our time.”

Titus O’Neil Says Hulk Hogan’s WWE Apology Lacked “Remorse” And “Desire To Change”

titus o'neil hulk hogan statement apology handshake rumor

Titus O’Neil has followed The New Day‘s lead by sharing his thoughts on Hulk Hogan‘s reinstatement to the WWE Hall of Fame and apology to the locker room before Extreme Rules.

O’Neil tweeted support for the statement released last night by New Day and echoed their sentiment, saying Hogan’s address showed a “lack of true contrition, remorse and a desire to change.”

In saying that, he noted Hogan’s apology seemed to focus on the fact that he was recorded without his knowledge while using multiple racial slurs … instead of what Titus called “remorse for the hateful and violent utterances he made which reprise language that has caused violence against blacks and minorities for centuries.”

It’s worth noting, however, O’Neil says Hulkster is entitled to the Hall of Fame reinstatement and he’s supportive of people receiving second/third chances.

The leader of Titus Worldwide also squashed rumors about him which began to circulate following Hogan’s locker room talk — the biggest being that O’Neil refused to shake Hulk’s hand and ultimately walked out on the meeting.

Read the full statement below.

“To my gracious fans and the WWE Universe.

The reports and rumors concerning my concerning my boycotting Extreme Rules in Pittsburgh is false and inaccurate. I was not scheduled to attend or participate in the Extreme Rules match/production and otherwise was not booked for the show.

The talent present in Pittsburgh, which I was a part of, was asked to attend a mandatory meeting in which Mr. Terry Bollea addressed everyone and informed the same that he would be reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame. At no point during, after or otherwise did I make any scene concerning Mr. Bollea’s communication to the talent. In addition, let it be known that I did not refuse to shake Mr. Bollea’s hand; we did not have any type of one-on-one interaction whatsoever that would or did necessitate any exchange between us individually.

As to the reinstatement of Mr. Bollea, I can only communicate that I am a proponent of second and even third chances for individuals that show true remorse, acknowledgement of wrongdoing, fulfill their punishment, if applicable, and otherwise put forth sincere efforts to correct the issues.

Unfortunately, I must echo the sentiment and dissatisfaction expressed by many of my fellow contemporaries concerning Mr. Bollea’s apology and its lack of true contrition, remorse and a desire to change. Mr. Bollea’s apology “that he didn’t know he was being recorded” is not remorse for the hateful and violent utterances he made which reprise language that has caused violence against blacks and minorities for centuries.

I stand firm in my position that Mr. Bollea is entitled to reinstatement; he was and is a role model, hero and icon to countless people. I hope that Mr. Bollea’s missteps in communicating to the WWE talent in Pittsburgh are not repeated to his fans and I expect that he shall pursue an agenda that clearly communicates to all third parties that his language was inappropriate, wrong and should not be tolerated in a civilized and inclusive society.

As the father of two young black men, I have spent their entire life and the majority of my adult life with a singular focus; being a role model for my children and young black boys and girls. I take tremendous pride in my charity work and the community outreach that I have fostered via the platform I have been given. I teach my sons love and tolerance for everybody, but I also teach them to operate in truth and respect.

I hope this clears up any confusion. I, like New Day, will continue to use my platform to positively affect, entertain, embrace, celebrate and love people from all backgrounds both inside and outside of the WWE Universe.

Sincerely,

Thaddeus Bullard aka WWE Superstar ‘Titus O’Neil’”
