Paul Heyman To Induct Goldberg Into WWE Hall of Fame

WWE announced Paul Heyman will induct Goldberg into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame. Here’s their full announcement:

Paul Heyman has been at ringside for some of Goldberg’s most intense battles in the squared circle. Now, Brock Lesnar’s advocate will be the person who inducts the former WCW, World Heavyweight and Universal Champion into the WWE Hall of Fame during the 2018 Induction Ceremony on Friday, April 6, during WrestleMania 34 Week.

Heyman had a bird’s eye view of the type of carnage Goldberg could create inside the ring when he returned in 2016 to challenge Lesnar to a Mega Match at Survivor Series in Toronto. He was stunned when Goldberg bulldozed through The Beast in under two minutes to win his first match in 12 years. Heyman also witnessed the demolition derby for the Universal Championship between Goldberg and his client on The Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 33 last year. Though Goldberg was not victorious on that night, he certainly made a major impression on Lesnar and his advocate.

Heyman is never one to pull any punches or mince words. What will he have to say when he presents Goldberg to the WWE Universe to receive sports-entertainment’s highest honor? Find out during the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, streaming live on WWE Network Friday, April 6, at 8 ET/5 PT!

Tickets for the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans are available now.

Goldberg To Headline 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame Class, Other Possible Inductees

Bill Goldberg was set to go into the WWE Hall of Fame this year in New Orleans, first reported by freelance writer Brad Shepard. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now confirmed that Goldberg will be the headliner of the 2018 class.

The Dudley Boyz were also on the original list of names reported and it’s possible WWE announces their induction during the RAW 25th Anniversary show on January 22nd as they were recently confirmed for that event. Besides Goldberg and The Dudleys, other names reported but unconfirmed as of this writing are Ivory and Bam Bam Bigelow, plus Kid Rock going into the Celebrity Wing.

Goldberg’s induction should be announced soon, possibly as early as Monday’s RAW, as tickets for the ceremony go on sale Friday, January 19th at 11am EST. The online pre-sale will begin next Wednesday via Ticketmaster.

The 2018 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Friday, April 6th at 7:30pm EST from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. No word yet on a special broadcast for the USA Network but it will air on the WWE Network in its entirety.

Goldberg On Being Miserable During Current WWE Run, What He Told Vince McMahon After Door Headbutt

On the premier episode of E&C Pod Of Awesomeness, WWE Universal Champion Goldberg talked about his gruelling preparation for his current WWE run and being “miserable”.

According to Goldberg, he is a machine now that trains, eats, and goes to the bathroom several times a day.

“I am nothing but a machine now. I get up in the morning. I eat. I train. I eat. I go to the bathroom about 20 times intermittently throughout the day because I’m shoving 15 to 20,000 calories in my body and it doesn’t know what’s going on. At 50 years old, it has no idea.”

Moreover, Goldberg admitted that preparing for his comeback has been the hardest thing he has ever done.

“It’s the toughest thing I ever embarked upon, guys. I’m 13 years removed from the business.” Goldberg added, “I can’t name a power wrestler who has come back 13 freaking years afterwards. And then, within 20 pounds of what he was back then.”

In Goldberg’s estimation, people expect him to look how he did during his previous WWE run and to be able to do the things he did before. The man behind pro wrestling’s longest undefeated streak divulged that he had been away from pro wrestling so long that he even forgot how to perform his entrance. Also, Goldberg mentioned that he pulled a hamstring doing a kick during his entrance.

“People are expecting me to be able to do exactly what I did back then. Well, I mean, let’s be honest, man. I forgot how to go through my pyro! I honestly, I swear to God, I actively, when I came back to the WWE, each and every time I went through Gorilla [position], I would remember another thing that I had forgotten in my preparation.”

Goldberg said, “I throw my punches. I throw my kicks. I pull my hamstring throwing a kick! Throwing a kick! It’s ridiculous.”

Additionally, Goldberg admitted that he knocked himself out headbutting the door before his entrance and he forgot his lines as a result.

“How about when I knocked myself out on the door? Did you hear that one? You didn’t hear that one? I did that, I don’t know, a month ago. So, well, yeah, man. My way of getting ready, you know me, man. They knock on my door, I pour water on my head, so I don’t catch on fire from the sparks, and I headbutt the door. I’m a neanderthal. That’s what I do, right?”

Goldberg recalled, “and I’m walking to the ring, and I go through Gorilla, and then, I get in the ring, man, and I literally forgot every single thing that I was supposed to say and the cameraman throws me a towel. And I’m like, ‘what is this towel for?’ I mean, I know I sweat a lot, but I’ve got blood dripping down my forehead and I had no idea, man.”

Apparently, Goldberg told Vince McMahon afterward the incident, “fault me for trying too hard, not for not trying hard enough.”

Also during the interview, Goldberg claimed that he has been miserable during this current WWE run, but his family is happy and that is most important to the former Atlanta Falcon.

“I’ll be honest, I’m miserable. I’m absolutely miserable. But my family’s having fun, man. And so, every single thing, every training session, every ART massage that makes me cry, every muay thai session, it’s all worth it, man. It’s just worth it. And, hey, at the end of the day, if I want to smile, I’ll buy a car. That’s how I’m happy. I did, I bought one on the way back from [Survivor Series in] Toronto because I worked my ass off.”

Goldberg added, “nobody get me wrong when I say I’ve been miserable throughout this, but I am. I’m miserable. I’m bloated 24 hours a day. I’m stressed 24 hours a day. I don’t sleep, but it’s a small price to pay.”

Goldberg stated that he has sacrificed cardio to bulk up and achieve that classic Goldberg look.

“For me to be 237 [pounds] and have great cardio and then get the phone call that six weeks later, I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do. Do you think I continued to do cardio every day?” Goldberg continued, “I had to shut cardio completely down and just eat, and eat, and lift, and eat. And so it’s a sacrifice. Do I give people the visual whatever as close as possible of Goldberg or do I give them a new version in which I look like a cruiserweight and it’s just different, man.”

The former face of WCW admitted that he wore a coat when he first came back to WWE because he was not bulky enough.

“Why do you think I wore a coat every time at first when I got back? The answer is I still had to train, man. I was still training.” Goldberg added, “I believe it was much more important for me to be aesthetically what I was like in the past as opposed to a dude who could run around for 20 minutes. That ain’t me.”

WWE Hype For Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg At WrestleMania 33

Image result for Goldberg vs Lesnar At WrestleMania 33 For the WWE Universal Title

Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg at WrestleMania 33 for the WWE Universal Title is now official after Goldberg defeated Kevin Owens for the gold at WWE Fastlane last night.

Below is WWE’s official preview for the match:

As if the long-awaited mega rematch between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 wasn’t already big enough, the stakes have been heightened following Goldberg’s triumph at WWE Fastlane. Now, The Beast Incarnate is out for not only redemption on Sunday, April 2, but also Goldberg’s newly won Universal Championship.

Despite his world-beater bona fides, The Conqueror has never defeated his decorated opponent. Indeed, Goldberg has had Lesnar’s number since the first time they locked horns, at WrestleMania XX. After more than a decade away from WWE, Goldberg returned last fall and destroyed Lesnar in shocking fashion at Survivor Series, thrashing The Conqueror in one minute and 26 seconds.

Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, chalked up the loss to The Beast taking Goldberg too lightly and nothing more. Yet at Royal Rumble, Goldberg enjoyed the upper hand again, eliminating Lesnar from the event’s eponymous 30-Superstar brawl.

No one else has thrived against Lesnar the way Goldberg has. Lesnar, a four-time WWE Champion, has carved out a career of destruction. Among his many accomplishments since returning to WWE in 2012, Lesnar ended The Undertaker’s once unbreakable WrestleMania Streak, demolished John Cena and bludgeoned Randy Orton to the point of referee stoppage.

Goldberg, however, has proven to be an unbeatable foe, so far.

Will Lesnar’s luck change when he battles Goldberg for Raw’s top championship, at WWE’s biggest event of the year, no less? Or can Goldberg further cement his incredible legacy, putting an exclamation point on his career with another victory against The Beast?

Find out which iconic behemoth comes out on top when Universal Champion Goldberg meets Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 on Sunday, April 2, live on the award-winning WWE Network.

Goldberg, Lesnar And The Undertaker Come Face-To-Face-To-Face On RAW (Video)

Last night Raw ended with an intense face-off between Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and The Undertakergiving viewers one final tease before they all compete in the Royal Rumble.

It all went down during the closing segment when Goldberg declared he would be the victor of the Rumble match and Paul Heyman interrupted to bring out his Beast of a client.

Just as it looked as Golberg and Lesnar were about to fight, the gong struck, the lights went out and Taker was standing in the ring with them. They stared each other down as the show went off the air.

Below is a fan video in which you can see what happened after RAW went off the air:

Brock Lesnar Reportedly Pushed For Longer Feud With Goldberg

Wrestling is a weird business. So weird that a man whose brand is built on the fact he’s an unbeatable freak of nature may have gone to his boss and asked to get his butt kicked by a 49 year old man.

We’ll probably never know exactly of what the conversations which led to Goldberg becoming only the second man to twice beat Brock Lesnar clean in singles matches on WWE pay-per-view (PPV) consisted. But on the post-Survivor Series edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscription required but recommended), Dave Meltzer says Lesnar pushed for the multi-match contract Goldberg apparently signed some time in the past week, and the 86 second beating which occurred last night (Nov. 19) in Toronto was put together to make the WCW legend look as good as possible for future matches against the Beast Incarnate.

Lesnar reportedly wanted more than one date with Goldberg because he sees their rivalry as a big money feud, and Vince McMahon apparently agrees. Once everyone was on the same page with that, and a new deal inked with Goldberg, the decision was made to do the Survivor Series squash. It was apparently done to mirror the kind of matches which got the former NFL lineman over back in his WCW glory days in order to maximize his appeal for the rematch.

Backstage News On Goldberg’s WWE Deal, His Likely WrestleMania Match

Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Bill Goldberg got a “real big money deal” for this past Sunday’s Survivor Series match against Brock Lesnar. As for Goldberg’s new deal with WWE, Meltzer said that Goldberg is willing to wrestle for that amount as often as Vince McMahon wants him to, so it’s up to Vince on how many times he wants to use him. So Goldberg’s appearances going forward appear to be open-ended as long as WWE is willing to meet his price.

Meltzer added that WWE is looking at a Goldberg vs. Lesnar rematch at WrestleMania. He speculated that Lesnar might interfere in The Royal Rumble match, causing Goldberg to be eliminated.

WWE did that angle in 2004, when Lesnar interfered and cost Goldberg The Royal Rumble, which led to Goldberg causing Lesnar to lose the WWE Championship to Eddie Guerrero the next month before they squared off at WrestleMania XX.
