GFW wrestler DJ Z has been suffering the side effects of a scary injury he sustained in April … but now the wrestler says he’s officially been cleared for action.

Z tweeted a photo of the doctor’s note which shows he’s been cleared and wrote, “after 4 months of struggles, anxiety and uncertainty, i am officially cleared to return to in-ring competition.”

It’s worth noting, however, that DJ had already been wrestling at indie shows without the clearance.

For those who don’t recall, the wrestler also known as Zema Ion underwent surgery in Mexico for a fractured colon and internal bleeding following a 450 splash gone wrong at a Crash show. Months later he revealed that he was having what felt like PTSD episodes related to the incident.

DJ Z Gives Medical Update, Believes He’s Suffering From PTSD Episodes Following Injury

Impact Wrestling star DJZ has been out of action for eight weeks following major surgery — however, he promises to be back in the ring this week … despite suffering from PTSD episodes.

The former X-Division champ took to social media yesterday to post an update on his condition and said. “Its easily been the most difficult 2 months of my life, both physically and mentally.”

As we previously reported, DJ Z underwent emergency surgery back in April for a fractured colon.

He adds, “I may very well have some form of PTSD from this experience as well, which I don’t want to believe or even admit, but I don’t know how else to explain some recent ‘episodes’ I’ve been experiencing.” Still, Z set a goal to return to the ring eight weeks after it occurred and is set to do that this weekend — though he admits it’s only a first step on the road to recovery.

DJ Z Undergoes ‘Major Surgery’ For Fractured Colon And Internal Bleeding

dj z injured hospitalized the crash video ambulance

Impact Wrestling star DJ Z underwent “major surgery” on Thursday for a fractured colon, as well as internal bleeding — this according to a close friend and fellow wrestler.

Z was rushed to a hospital last night in Mexico City after he was badly injured by a 450 splash gone wrong — and his buddy Gringo Loco went with him to the ER.

Loco posted an update on Facebook saying, “After a sleepless night and countless documents to get this all under way, DJ Z is going into a major surgery as I write this. He’s been coherent and talking the entire time but in excruciating pain every minute.”

He adds, “After numerous exams, they found that the colon was fractured and bleeding internally, which was causing all the pain and discomfort. They’re going to try to repair it first and if that doesn’t work, it only gets more complicated. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”

UPDATE: Loco posted another update saying DJ Z is out of surgery. He explains, “The procedure went well and has just arrived to the recovery room. He’ll have to be observed here 3-5 days depending on his recovery. But the doctor assured me he’ll eventually be out of the woods.”
