CM Punk Calls Susan G. Komen “A Scam”

CM Punk sent out a tweet last night during RAW, apparently about WWE’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign with Susan G. Komen. Punk called Susan G. Komen “a scam.”

Punk’s tweet caused a stir with wrestling fans, so Punk clarified that his remarks has nothing to with “fake wrestling,” his remarks was about people collecting money for themselves in the name of breast cancer.

CM Punk Blasts “Fake” WWE

CM Punk Blasts WWE “It Doesn’t Mean Anything. It’s Fake.”

UFC trainee and former WWE Superstar CM Punk spoke about his exit from pro wrestling this past Sunday as part of a Q & A session at Chicago Comic Con.

“I just couldn’t do it any more,” Punk said about WWE. “It didn’t make any sense to me. I would put my boots on and shuffle my feet and walk out there and be like, I don’t even know. It doesn’t mean anything. It’s fake.”

Punk has received a lot of heat in social media and fan forums for saying pro wrestling doesn’t mean anything and it’s fake. To cheapen his own WWE career and the wider wrestling fraternity, it is the kind of comment that he would’ve scoffed at just a few years ago. During his WWE career he was reportedly obsessed with the idea of closing WrestleMania and the meaning that carried.

Punk is not happy at the way his comments from Chicago Comic Con have been interpreted and tweeted the following:

CM Punk UFC 182 Q&A

First and foremost I would like to apologize that I didn’t get this content up while it was happening live but I misread the info and thought this particular Q&A was taking place tomorrow.

None the less I’m about to watch the Q&A myself so I hope as we watch together we can all enjoy it. The Q&A involving Phil “CM Punk” Brooks took place today in Las Vegas NV (the home of UFC 182) which will take place tomorrow. At the beginning of the Q&A there’s a special treat for WWE fans because Punk walked out to none other the “Cult of personality” I gotta admit even I marked out at that moment.

In the Q&A punk reveals his training camp, his weight division, the numerous challenges he’s received and much more! So sit back and enjoy

Former Power Ranger Wants CM Punk For His First Fight

Frank - Punk

It didn’t take long after the announcement that Former WWE Superstar CM Punk had signed with UFC to fight in the Octagon for fighters to start calling him out.

Everyone from top 10 middleweight Michael Bisping to former Ultimate Fighter winner Elias Theodorou asked for a fight with Punk. However neither of them will get anywhere near Punk for his first fight considering Punk has zero fighting experience in MMA, not a single bout on his record either professionally or as a amateur.

UFC President Dana White stated that Punks’s first fight will come against someone with equal footing in the fight game.

Former Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Jason David Frank has asked for a fight with Punk. Frank has dabbled in MMA as recently as 2010 when he turned from acting to fighting with 4 amateur bouts, winning all 4 in the first round, but he had to forgo a future in MMA due to film project commitments. Frank is now chomping at the bit to get a fight with Punk in the Octagon. Frank took to his Facebook page on Sunday to request a fight with Punk.

CM Punk interview with Ariel Hawani

20141207-105622.jpg

Last night after UFC 181 came to a close at the Mandalay Bay Arena in Las Vegas NV MMA journalist Ariel Hawani interviewed the UFC’s newest signee Phil “CM Punk” Brooks. (You can watch the interview here) http://www.mmamania.com/2014/12/7/7347637/video-watch-cm-punk-reason-join-ufc-leave-wwe-interview-mma

One thing that I found interesting is that punk said after he was done with WWE he knew what he wanted to do next in fact he said the first time he brought it up to UFC owner Lorenzo Fereta was back at UFC 170 on February 22nd when Rousey fought Mcmann.

Punk says although he appreciates getting paid this isn’t about the money and its more about achieving a goal he’s always had and at the end of the day not living his life with regret. He also says he understands the doubt since he has an 0-0 record in the sport but he says he’s made a career of proving people wrong and at the end of it all he will have people’s respect.

Punk was asked about his age playing a factor (punk is currently 36) he says that he’s felt better then he’s ever felt and fighting into his 40’s isn’t out of the question because you can’t tell an athlete when to hang it up and he plans on making the UFC his home for the foreseeable feature.

So when will we see CM Punk in the octagon? Well according to the man himself he wants to at least train for 6 months before stepping into the cage so if my math is correct I wouldn’t be surprised if he made his debut durring international fight week in July.

Like punk said in the interview “wether you’ll tune in to see me get my ass kicked that’s ok, or because your curios that’s fine too or if you want to watch to root me on that’s even better but you will tune in”

Well said punk well said
