Paul Heyman To Induct Goldberg Into WWE Hall of Fame

WWE announced Paul Heyman will induct Goldberg into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame. Here’s their full announcement:

Paul Heyman has been at ringside for some of Goldberg’s most intense battles in the squared circle. Now, Brock Lesnar’s advocate will be the person who inducts the former WCW, World Heavyweight and Universal Champion into the WWE Hall of Fame during the 2018 Induction Ceremony on Friday, April 6, during WrestleMania 34 Week.

Heyman had a bird’s eye view of the type of carnage Goldberg could create inside the ring when he returned in 2016 to challenge Lesnar to a Mega Match at Survivor Series in Toronto. He was stunned when Goldberg bulldozed through The Beast in under two minutes to win his first match in 12 years. Heyman also witnessed the demolition derby for the Universal Championship between Goldberg and his client on The Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 33 last year. Though Goldberg was not victorious on that night, he certainly made a major impression on Lesnar and his advocate.

Heyman is never one to pull any punches or mince words. What will he have to say when he presents Goldberg to the WWE Universe to receive sports-entertainment’s highest honor? Find out during the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, streaming live on WWE Network Friday, April 6, at 8 ET/5 PT!

Tickets for the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans are available now.

Source: WrestlingINC

TMZ Sports is reporting that Bill Goldberg is in talks with WWE about a possible return to the company.

Goldberg hasn’t wrestled since his WWE stint, which was from 2003 – 2004. He made an appearance at last year’s Legends of Wrestling event at Citi Field in New York, which saw him come to the aid of Rob Van Dam and hit Scott Steiner and Doc Gallows with his finishers, as seen in the video below:

This past May it was revealed that Goldberg will be a playable character in WWE 2K17, which comes out this October.

Goldberg Calls Out Brock Lesnar (Video)

Source: WrestlingINC

Former WWE and WCW World Heavyweight Champion Bill Goldberg was at Gamescom 2016 today in Cologne, Germany. You can check out his Q&A in the video above, below are some highlights:

Goldberg said that he should be on the cover because he “killed the guy [Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX] that’s on the cover.”

The fans chanted “please come back,” and Goldberg said that for them, he’ll see what he can do.

Goldberg added that he’s headed to New York City, and “that’s all [he] can say about that.” He said that you can never say never, and even at his age he has no issue putting his gear on and “ripping people’s faces off again.” He said he just needs the opportunity to do it. He told the fans to keep doing what they’re doing and it will happen.

Goldberg said he’ll do everything in his power to give the fans what he wants. He said he may be 49 years old, but he’s ready to go at any time anywhere, and all he needs is the call.

Goldberg was asked point blank when he’ll be back in WWE. Goldberg said that he honestly has no idea and doesn’t know if it will ever happen. He said every time there’s a WrestleMania or SummerSlam and people are expecting him, from the bottom of his heart, it’s not up to him. He said not to take it out on him because it’s not up to him.

He was asked about Brock Lesnar. Goldberg said that Brock knows how he feels about him. He noted that they’ve been in the ring and while they didn’t have the best match, Brock knows his power. He said that’s what is missing is someone giving Brock the fight like he gives to everyone else. Goldberg says that Brock knows what would happen, he knows where he lives, and the same thing will happen to Brock that happened at WrestleMania XX.

Goldberg said that he never turns down a challenge and they deserve to see that match. Check out the video below:

“Who’s Next?” – 2K Announces Bill Goldberg as WWE® 2K17 Pre-Order Bonus

WCW® and WWE® legend, film and television personality and former NFL defensive tackle featured as two playable characters in upcoming edition of flagship WWE video game franchise

New York, NY – May 31, 2016 – 2K today announced that legendary WCW® and WWE® star Bill Goldberg will make his virtual return in WWE® 2K17, the forthcoming release in the flagship WWE video game franchise. Best known for his unprecedented 173-0 singles competition win streak in WCW from 1997 to 1998, Goldberg will appear in WWE 2K17 through two playable characters representing his WCW and WWE personas. The playable characters, along with two playable arenas – WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc – will be available as bonus content for those who pre-order the game at participating retailers for the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, as well as Xbox One and Xbox 360. WWE 2K17 is currently scheduled for worldwide release in October 2016.

“After 12 years away from the business, I’m incredibly honored to work with WWE and 2K while following in the footsteps of such greats as Ultimate Warrior, Sting and Arnold Schwarzenegger,” said Goldberg. “My son was a big part of this coming together, and I can’t wait for him to see his dad kicking ass in a WWE ring through the magic of video games. I encountered the likes of The Rock, Triple H, Brock Lesnar and Ric Flair during my WWE career, and now through WWE 2K17, I’ll be taking on the biggest and baddest Superstars of today – showing them once and for all that I am still ‘Da Man!'”

During his WCW and WWE career, Goldberg held several notable championships, including the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, WWE World Heavyweight Championship, WCW United States Heavyweight Championship and WCW World Tag Team Championship alongside WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart. In 1998, as a result of his in-ring success and growing popularity, WCW began counting Goldberg’s consecutive wins on television. In addition, his popular catchphrase, “Who’s Next?” quickly caught on with fans and in part defined his career.

Following his WWE retirement in 2004, Goldberg appeared in a number of films, including The Longest Yard and Universal Soldier: The Return. He also remained a national television fixture, joining the ninth season cast of the popular NBC reality series, The Celebrity Apprentice, and serving as host of Garage Mahal for two seasons on DIY Network. In addition to his film and television endeavors, Goldberg served as a color commentator for several mixed martial arts promotions and developed his own podcast, Who’s Next with Goldberg, via PodcastOne. Goldberg was inducted into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.

“Goldberg’s return to WWE action through two WWE 2K17 playable characters, along with the WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc arenas, collectively delivers a unique opportunity to experience one of WWE’s true living legends,” said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing at 2K. “Fans can now relive many of their favorite Goldberg moments, as well as create brand new ones, as they decide ‘Who’s Next?’ in the virtual ring.”
