Ric Flair Wants An Apology From Becky Lynch, Oh And $20 Million From WWE

A quick tweet and delete, something The Nature Boy is becoming known for nowadays.

Ric Flair had quite the year in 2021. He started it as a WWE Superstar, even making his return to TV and becoming an active part of what was a pretty odd and eventually scrapped angle. His latest stint with WWE came to an end after he was granted his release. While there doesn’t appear to be bad blood between the two parties for the most part, Flair refuses to let one thing go.

That one thing is WWE’s use of the mantra, The Man. Or, more accurately, Becky Lynch’s use of it. Lynch has been calling herself The Man for a while. However, The Nature Boy claims he owns it, at least in the wrestling world. Flair’s claim stems from when he would say “to be the man, you gotta beat the man” during his heyday.

The situation appears to have become even more complicated rather than get resolved. There has been talk since the turn of the year that WWE has abandoned the trademark. There are also conflicting reports that WWE has simply decided to not have Lynch refer to herself as The Man anymore. Either way, Flair seems to believe he is owed an apology, not to mention a hefty chunk of change for his troubles.

Naitch published a tweet demanding apologies from Lynch and WWE, but then quickly deleted it which has become customary for the 16-time World Champion. “I’ll take 2 apologies- one from Big Time Becks & one from WWE,” Flair tweeted, adding that he’ll also take 20 million. Assuming he means dollars there, and also assuming he believes WWE has made $20 million by having Lynch refer to herself as The Man for part of her career.

Whether WWE has admitted the trademark belongs to Flair or not, it’s hard to imagine a world where The Nature Boy receives $20 million for Lynch’s use of it. This appears to be more about a problem he has with Lynch as opposed to WWE referring to her as The Man. This isn’t the first time Naitch has tweeted something about her and then immediately thought better of it. Perhaps the Hall of Famer is still hung up on the title exchange between Lynch and his daughter Charlotte last year.

Backstage Note On Becky Lynch Working As A Heel

New SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch reportedly asked WWE officials to work as a heel for this run.

As noted, Lynch made her surprise return at WWE SummerSlam on Saturday and defeated Bianca Belair in just seconds to capture the SmackDown Women’s Title, as the replacement for Sasha Banks, who is not cleared to compete. It was later reported that current plans call for Lynch to be the top heel of the blue brand women’s division.

In an update, word now is that Lynch was the one who requested that she be booked as a heel moving forward, according to F4Wonline.com.

There’s no word on when the Belair vs. Lynch rematch will take place, but it will be interesting to see what sort of heel promo Lynch returns to SmackDown with this Friday.

Possible Spoiler On Becky Lynch’s WWE Return

Becky Lynch is reportedly scheduled to be at the WWE Money In the Bank pay-per-view.

There is no word on if Lynch will make her return at the pay-per-view, but PWInsider reports that as of this morning she is scheduled to be in attendance at Money In the Bank.

Lynch was working out in the ring with Indi Hartwell at the WWE Performance Center a few weeks back, as part of the process of getting cleared for her return to action.

Lynch gave birth to her first daughter, with Seth Rollins, back in December. She has been out of action since WrestleMania 36, where she retained the RAW Women’s Title over Shayna Baszler. She then relinquished that title to Asuka a few weeks later, announcing her pregnancy.

It’s believed that WWE is saving some of their bigger returns for when they return to the road later this week, beginning with Friday’s SmackDown on FOX from Houston. Money In the Bank will take place from the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.

WWE Confirms Becky Lynch And Seth Rollins Got Married This Week

As first teased by Seth Rollins himself on Tuesday, WWE has now confirmed he and Becky Lynch finally got married this week.

WWE has confirmed Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins really did get married on Tuesday. Congratulations to the two of them.

Seth Rollins got wrestling fans buzzing on Tuesday via a certain something he posted on his Instagram story. The Architect posted a photo of Becky Lynch off in the distance along with the caption “seems like a fine day to (finally) get married.” WWE has since posted confirmation that Rollins and Lynch are indeed man and wife, congratulating the two WWE Superstars in the process.

If you were under the impression Lynch and Rollins were already married, there’s good reason for that. The two were supposed to get married back in May of last year. However, as was the case for many couples around the world, those plans were scuppered by the pandemic. Clearly, the world is back to normal enough for the pair to have finally tied the knot.

While having to postpone their wedding for more than a year wouldn’t have been ideal, it does mean their daughter Roux was around for the big day. It has been a big year for the WWE couple. Not only are they now married, but Lynch and Rollins welcomed Roux, their very first child, into the world back in December.

More Lynch news and The Man’s return to the spotlight will renew fans’ want for the former Raw Women’s Champion to return to the ring. Lynch departed WWE over a year ago, revealing to the world that she was pregnant. The Lass Kicker handed her title over to Asuka in the process. The Empress had won the women’s Money in the Bank match the night before, and the title was inside the briefcase.

Lynch had been Raw Women’s Champion since beating Ronda Rousey for the title at WrestleMania 35. Since she was never beaten for the title, she has a built-in angle ready and waiting for her when she does return. That could mean a dream match between Lynch and current champion Rhea Ripley, or an additional chapter in the long-running rivalry with her best friend turned bitter enemy Charlotte Flair. Ripley and Flair will battle for the title once again at Money in the Bank.

Report: Becky Lynch Signs New Contract With WWE

If recent reports are accurate, “The Man” Becky Lynch has pledged her future to WWE.

WWE Superstar Becky Lynch has reportedly pledged her future to the company by signing a new contract.

According to a recent Ringside News report, WWE and Becky Lynch have agreed to terms on a deal ahead of her highly anticipated return to WWE programming.

Becky Lynch (real name Rebecca Quinn) has been absent from WWE since announcing her pregnancy on the May 11th 2020 edition of Raw when she relinquished the Raw Women’s Championship to Asuka, who had won the Money In The Bank briefcase the night before.

Later that month, “The Man” shared a series of pics to honor the 34th birthday of her partner Seth Rollins. Th post culminated with an ultrasound image of the couple’s yet-to-be-born child.

The former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion gave birth to a baby girl named Roux back in December. Lynch took to Instagram to announce the birth and reveal her new daughter’s name.

Becky Lynch And Ronda Rousey Returning To WWE Soon

Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch are scheduled to return to WWE soon, according to WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan.

Khan appeared on The Colin Cowherd Podcast earlier today to promote WrestleMania 37 Week and commented on the returns of the former RAW Women’s Champions, indicating that they will be returning in the near future.

Regarding Lynch, Khan noted that she will be “coming back at a certain point in time in the not too distant future.”

Lynch has been out of action since right after retaining the title over current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, due to her first pregnancy. She and Seth Rollins welcomed their first child together in December, a baby girl.

Rousey has been away from WWE since working the WrestleMania 35 main event in 2019, with Lynch and Charlotte Flair. Khan noted that she will be “coming back at a certain point in time” also, but no specifics were revealed.

Khan’s comments on Rousey could be a sign that she and the company have come to terms on a new contract as her original deal was scheduled to expire on April 10 of this year, in just a few days. Rousey took time off after WrestleMania 35 as she and husband Travis Browne wanted to expand their family, but there have been no updates on that front.

At one point both Lynch and Rousey were rumored or expected for WrestleMania 37, but all signs indicate that they will not be working the big two-night event this weekend, unless they’re booked for some sort of surprise appearance.

Becky Lynch Is Pregnant, Relinquishes Raw Women’s Title To Asuka

The Man is set to become a Mom.

Becky Lynch relinquished the RAW Women’s Championship to Asuka, winner of Sunday’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Lynch made the announcement at the beginning of Raw tonight and began by talking about her time throughout the company, as well as what the fans have meant to her. Becky then said she had to go away for awhile, but was interrupted by Asuka.

When Asuka came to the ring, she learned the Money in the Bank match wasn’t just for a title opportunity … it was for the Raw Women’s title. Becky opened the briefcase to reveal the title inside. Asuka celebrated with her belt and danced around the ring.

Becky told Asuka to go be a warrior and she will go be a mother.

Becky won the Raw Women’s title at WrestleMania 35 after defeating Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in the main event of the show. She then held the belt through WrestleMania 36 and defended her title successfully against Shayna Baszler. Becky’s reign lasted 399 days.

Lynch and Seth Rollins announced their engagement in August of last year.

In a subsequent interview with People.com, Becky says she learned she was pregnant in April and that the baby is due in December.

Lynch also said she won’t be making a decision regarding her in-ring future yet. “It’s just such a joyous time and then such a sad time too. I loved this and I’ve given my life to this. I’ve achieved everything that I want to achieve in this business,” she explained.

“I don’t know what the next chapter is because I only know what it’s like to think for myself when I’m by myself,” the WWE star continued. “So I don’t know what it’ll look like and how my priorities shift and what I’m going to want in the future. So, everything’s open.”

Becky Lynch Comments On Ric Flair Filing To Trademark “The Man”

The current WWE RAW Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, has reached unparalleled levels of success in WWE’s women’s division after she deemed herself “The Man” last summer. But since then, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has taken issue with WWE and Lynch freely using the term to describe Lynch’s character.

Flair has even filed for the name to be trademarked under him, saying that he would be completely fine with Lynch using the term if WWE would pay him while using it.

Lynch has now spoken out to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi about Flair attempting to trademark “The Man” for his own.

“All I can say about Ric is, I like Ric,” Lynch said. “He’s been a good friend to me over the years. We’ll see what happens with that.'”

You can see the full tweet below:

The two first started trading shots on Twitter this past August when Lynch caught wind of Flair’s trademark filing. As seen below, Lynch responded to Flair’s, ‘To Be The Man, You Gotta Beat THE MAN!’, with, ‘I am The Man.’
