Updates Regarding ‘All In’ And ‘Young Bucks’ Trademark Filings, Possible Future ‘All In’ Plans

Image result for all in

As early as the conclusion of ‘ALL IN’, Cody [Rhodes] and The Young Bucks not so subtly suggested that ‘ALL IN 2’ may already be in the works. The current trademark filings of Killing The Business, Inc. with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) indicate that the ‘ALL IN’ pay-per-view that took place last month in Hoffman Estates, Illinois may never have been the group’s endgame.

According to the initial trademark application filed in May 2018 on behalf of Dana Massie, Matt Jackson’s wife and President of Killing The Business, Inc., the ‘ALL IN’ trademark was meant for more than just the single pay-per-view event. Among other things, the filing provides for multiple professional wrestling events and even “ongoing television programs”.

“Entertainment in the nature of professional wrestling matches, exhibitions, and tournaments and ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling; organizing and conducting professional wrestling matches, exhibitions, and tournaments; production and syndication of television programs featuring professional wrestling matches, exhibitions, tournaments and performances.”

Notably, on September 14, 2018, the USPTO delivered to Killing The Business, Inc. a letter requiring further action to finalize the approval of the ‘ALL IN’ trademark. The letter indicated that “the nature of the exhibitions organized and conducted must be clarified” and the “applicant must amend this wording to specify the common commercial or generic name for the goods and/or services.” Killing The Business, Inc. has six months from September 14, 2018 to satisfy the USPTO as to the meaning of “exhibitions”. Otherwise, the ‘ALL IN’ trademark will be considered abandoned and fair game for any trademark applicant to snap up the mark.

Basically, what that means is that Killing The Business, Inc. is being given six months to clarify to the USPTO what kind of “exhibitions” they are planning using the “All In” trademark. “Exhibitions” could be just a normal pro wrestling show or something as grand as a convention, ala Starrcast. The USPTO just wants to know what Killing The Business, Inc. means by “exhibitions”.

On a related note, Killing The Business, Inc.’s trademark for ‘Young Bucks’ will be published for opposition on October 23, 2018, today. This means that the ‘Young Bucks’ trademark will be registered to Killing The Business, Inc., according to the USPTO, provided that no other party steps forward to contest the registration of the trademark within 30 days of today. If no one steps forward to contest it within the next 30 days, then it will be owned by Killing The Business, Inc.

Only time will tell what the future holds for the Bullet Club Elite members who have vowed to take their next steps together as a group.

Cody Rhodes Discusses What He Would Do Differently For “All In 2”

Recently on The Jim Ross Report, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross caught up with the newly crowned NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion, Cody. Among many other pro wrestling topics, ‘The Grandson Of A Plumber’ talked about his role at All In and what he learned from his experience, planning a sequel to the wildly successful indie show, and the future of the NWA’s top prize.

According to Cody, he produced the second half of All In and was in charge of timing the show.

“I didn’t get a chance to sleep [after All In] and I went right to gorilla [position] after my match and I directed and timed the last half of the show.” Cody admitted, “I’m not the best timer judging by the main event time. I’m learning! But I didn’t get that moment to… I didn’t get many moments. It was just happening so fast.”

During the interview, Cody hinted at planning another All In and noted that he learned a lot about time management [except for timing pro wrestling matches].

“Well, maybe we already started planning [laughs].” Cody added, “I kept writing these lists. And my dad was a big list guy and I have become a big list guy too. I kept writing these lists of these are the things to do to make sure you’re in peak condition, and also make sure you’re in peak mental state, and make sure you paid this guy and talked to this guy. I also learned I wanted to do every single thing with this show. I wanted to do payroll; I wanted to know elements of production; I wanted to know how many chairs were in the union catering room.

“Just, next time, I don’t need to know all that stuff. I also learned you are only as good as the team around you and we’ve discovered some new teammates over the course of [All In] weekend.”

With respect to the future of the NWA title, Cody claimed that he would like to continue on the NWA’s tradition of having a traveling champion.

“Well, I want to continue the path of the traveling champion.” Cody continued, “that’s kind of what I grew up on, the type of [pro] wrestling I like. Even though it’s a generation prior to me, when I look back at what [Ric] Flair was able to do, what Jack Brisco was able to do, their date book alone, and not just, ‘oh, I did it,’ but I did it and it was the best thing of the night. Like, I did it with consistency, but it rubs some people the wrong way and that’s fine. I think most people enjoy it.

“I don’t really believe in the politics of wrestling anymore. I understand if this isn’t your company’s title, but if you’re asking me to come wrestle for your company, I’m wearing the damn title. There’s no [way around that], right? It takes an organization, it does, to facilitate and get that ring set up. And it takes a crew to tighten those ropes, but a big focus [at All In] was ‘this is a wrestling show by wrestlers.’ And yeah, there [are] some things we could have learned from a company standpoint, an organizational standpoint, but that’s how I go into everything I do. When I go to Long Beach [California for NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed] to wrestle Juice Robinson for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship, I’ll be wearing this too. I’m taking it everywhere I go and I’m excited to do that.”

DDP On Cody Rhodes Warning “All In” Talent Not To Go Over On Time, Why He Worked “All In” For Free

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page spoke with WSVN-TV Entertainment Reporter Chris Van Vliet last week in Los Angeles, which you can watch in the video below. They sent WrestlingINC.com these highlights:

Dusty Rhodes played a major part in the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship match at ALL IN:

“Dusty used to always tell me ‘I got five friends D and every time I count them, you are one of them’ and that meant a lot to me. So when he passed, Cody called me and said Dusty, because he always calls him Dusty and not pops, he said ‘Dusty told me right before he passed that he had five friends and you’re on that list’. I appreciated that because I had heard it, but hearing it from him took it to a different level. So fast forward a year a half later and he’s putting together ALL IN, he really loved that five friends thing. And three guys who couldn’t have been any closer besides me were Ray Lloyd who is Glacier and Tommy Dreamer. He of course threw in his brother-in-law Kevin who he loves dearly and his father-in-law Otis and of course his dog Pharaoh. It was like super special and it was super emotional. We were all looking at each other trying not to cry.”

How Cody convinced him to do a Diamond Cutter during the match:

“When I first heard Cody was doing ALL IN, I told him you know I don’t do Diamond Cutters anymore. I mean, if WWE calls me I’ll f*cking do a Diamond Cutter, but not for an independent wrestling company. I’ve been offered $10,000. I’m not hitting that mat anymore. But for Cody, I told him if you need me for anything, I said I’m there and I wouldn’t charge him nothing. I’m sure plenty of people got paid a lot of money to be there, I took nothing and I won’t take nothing from him.”

Cody warned the wrestlers on the ALL IN card not to go over on time:

“Cody told everybody: Be on time, hit your mark, don’t go over. And those guys had a hell of a match but they could have done half that and still had a hell of a match. Bottom line is Cody put on a memo: you’re not stealing the show, you’re stealing from others.”

The ALL IN crowd was the hottest crowd since 1997:

“Dusty used to always say to me ‘D, I feel so bad for you that didn’t get to work ECW’ because he knows what a fan I am and I would have loved to have done something up there but I was so wrapped in that I couldn’t. But he could and he was like ‘man, you would have loved it’. To me as great as ECW was and as hot as they were, they weren’t any hotter than the ALL IN crowd and it was was f*cking bigger. That crowd was the hottest crowd I’ve seen since 1997. And in 1997 they were ravenous. Every single person in the building. That’s what it was like at ALL IN.”

Cody Rhodes says they’ve added “several levels” of security to All In on Saturday due to the recent shooting at a Madden tournament in Jacksonville that left two people dead.

Rhodes participated in an AMA on Reddit and was asked if he and The Young Bucks beefed up security at the upcoming event due to 24-year-old David Katz shooting fellow gamers at GLHF Game Bar on Sunday, then killing himself.

“Security was beefy from the jump,” Cody replied. “But we’ve added several levels and the building is an incredibly secure and disciplined building.”

The Florida shooting also left 10 people injured from gunshots and one with a non-gunshot injury.

Plans For Second “All In” Event Teased (AUDIO)

all in part two teased talk is jericho cody rhodes young bucks matt nick jackson

The All In event hasn’t even taken place yet, but The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes sound like they’re already tossing around the idea of promoting part two.

The trio were guests on the latest episode of Talk is Jericho and while discussing the idea of a second show Matt Jackson said they feel it has to be just as ambitious as the first in terms of drawing a huge crowd — questioning how big they should try to go.

“Could you do another one and say ‘Oh, I want 10,000 again?” Jackson continued, “Or do you do, I want 20,000 or I want 15,000?  I personally would like to do Madison Square Garden.  I think that would be cool.”

Adding, “Or I’d like to do something in Los Angeles at a big building there.” It was later implied they’ve already had meetings with officials from The Forum, as Staples is locked down by WWE.

“I would love to see what happens if you guys do Madison Square Garden, because the old man is not going to stand by,” a laughing Jericho replied. “It’s definitely an option,” Matt replied.

At the end of the podcast, Jericho said it’s always possible he could participate in All In 2.

The sold-out All In event is set to go down September 1 in Chicago.

Matt Hardy Proposes Showdown With The Young Bucks At All In

matt hardy all in bray wyatt young bucks

Matt Hardy is proposing he and Bray Wyatt make a trip to All In to defend the WWE RAW tag team titles against The Young Bucks.

Hardy tweeted out the suggestion after comments made by The Bucks following Saturday’s New Japanshow in San Francisco.

When asked about what they have left to accomplish, Matt Jackson made a suggestion some might consider out of the ordinary.

“How cool would it be to win the WWE tag team championship belts and not even have to perform on their show? That would be great,” he told reporters.

“A little one off?,” Nick responded.

“Yeah, a little one off.  That would be fun,” Matt replied.

The result was a tweet from Hardy that read: “What are these FANTASTICAL FANCIES that you speak of, Bucks of Youth?  September 1st?”  The tweet included pictures of Hardy/Wyatt with their belts and The Young Bucks carrying their titles.

Matt Hardy has extensive history with The Young Bucks — and we recently saw WWE give Nick and Matt quite a bit of promotion on their social channels.
