Kenny Omega Announced For Title Vs. Title Match At Impact Rebellion

Before concluding last night’s go-home show before Sacrifice this weekend, Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore has announced that Rich Swann and Moose will defend both their Impact World and TNA World Heavyweight Championships in a Unification Match. The winner will go on to face the AEW World Champion Kenny Omega in the main event of Rebellion on Saturday, April 24 in a Title versus Title Match.

After a back and forth exchange since Hard To Kill, Moose has been targeting Swann for a World Title shot. Coincidentally, this feud arose just after they took a major loss to Omega and the Impact World Tag Team Champions, The Good Brothers, in that main event.

Moose, who originally brought back the retired TNA World Heavyweight Championship last April at Rebellion, has called himself the “Self-Proclaimed” Champion and has defended it countless times against TNA veterans. It wasn’t until last month that D’Amore sanctioned the title again. It’ll be interesting to see who will be the first in the company’s history to unify the top titles.

Omega, on the other hand, has been on a roll since winning the AEW World Championship off of Jon Moxley last December. This past Sunday at Revolution, Omega retained his championship against Moxley in a rubber match which saw both men compete in AEW’s first-ever Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match.

Sacrifice will be live exclusively on Impact Plus this Saturday.

Big Swole On Her Issues With Crohn’s Disease And Her AEW Status

AEW star Big Swole took to Twitter last night and wrote about her struggles with Crohn’s Disease over the past year.

Swole’s comments came after AEW President & CEO Tony Khan noted during Sunday’s post-Revolution media scrum that Swole had been out of action as of late due to the disease. Khan talked about how strong of a competitor Swole is and how much he likes her. He also said she hasn’t been active or ranked in 2021 because she had a flare up of the disease shortly before they started the Eliminator Tournament. He called her a great asset to the company and said he hopes they can have her in regular competition as she gets healthier.

Swole, who is married to WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Cedric Alexander, appeared on Saturday’s special AEW Dark episode to cut a promo on how she wants a shot at the AEW Women’s World Title as she was the top ranked female competitor before the Eliminator Tournament was held. She has not wrestled since the January 12 Dark episode, where she defeated Alex Garcia.

Swole noted in her Twitter statement how 2020 was a rough year due to her bout with pneumonia, her Crohn’s disease, and the COVID-19 pandemic. She started to have flare-ups in the fall, which led to various problems, including mobility issues. She asked fans to bare with her as she gets the treatments that she needs to heal.

You can read Swole’s full statement below:

“This past year has been filled with ups and a lot of downs. After my bout with pneumonia early last year, I was informed that resuming my medicine for Crohn’s would result in death given the COVID-19 circumstances. Seeing as how the biologic I was on shuts down my immune system and acts as such resuming my medicine was not an option. I was doing alright self-managing until the flare ups started in the fall. As some of you may not know Crohn’s attacks the body as a whole so on top of my intestines issues different body parts would lock up and become incapable of bending at the joints. Some days I could barely walk and that took a toll on me emotionally and mentally. Living with this disease may seem like a thorn and it is but it also shows me that His grace is sufficient and no matter what happens I will smile because I am more than a conqueror. I am Swole and that mentality/faith will carry me through it all. I ask that you bare with me, I’m getting the treatments that I need and my journey to complete healing is underway. Thank you for your love and thoughtful messages, I appreciate them and you! Much love to everyone, be safe! #Chronies”

WATCH: Jon Moxley Comforts Crowd After Revolution Pyro Mishap

Jon Moxley joked with the Daily’s Place crowd following the disappointing conclusion of AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view.

In case you missed it, the closing moments of AEW Revolution were hindered by a dud explosion.

Moxley had just been defeated by Kenny Omega in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch. Following his win, Omega and his cronies, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, continued to beat Mox down in an attempt to incapacitate him. Their goal was to make sure he couldn’t leave the ring before it exploded.

Omega, Gallows, and Anderson left the ring before the clock reached zero, but Eddie Kingston ran out to assist Moxley. Kingston threw himself on Mox, but when the explosion came, it was nothing but a few pops and some lame sparklers.

Clearly something went wrong, and a thoroughly entertaining pay-per-view ended with a wet fart.

The crowd booed, and when the show went off the air, Mox grabbed a mc and joked about the whole thing.

Paul Wight Teases Big Signing For AEW At Revolution PPV

Paul Wight formerly known as The Big Show has appeared on AEW programming for the first time since he jumped ship from WWE.

Wight returned to TNT for the first time in over 20 years when he debuted on the latest edition of AEW Dynamite.

During his segment, Wight plugged his upcoming color commentating spot on AEW Dark: Elevation. As noted, along with wrestling from time-to-time, Wight will commentate AEW Dark: Elevation on Mondays at 7 pm ET on AEW’s YouTube channel. The show premieres on March 15 and Tony Schiavone is set to be his broadcast partner.

During a chat with his former WCW colleague Tony Schiavone, Wight — who was wearing a t-shirt that said “no more BS” — clarified his new role with All Elite Wrestling.

“Raise your hand if you saw this turn coming,” he joked.

Wight then revealed that AEW has signed a major “hall-of-fame worthy” star, and said that they will debut at AEW Revolution on Sunday.

Check out Paul Wight’s AEW debut below.

Cody Rhodes Puts Shaq Through A Table On Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling’s Cody Rhodes managed to put NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal through a table on the latest edition of AEW Dynamite.

It all went down in the opening match which saw Cody team with Red Velvet to take on the powerhouse duo of Shaq and Jade Cargill.

At one point during the match, Cody cross-bodied Shaq off the apron through two tables on the outside!

An impressive performance from newcomer Cargill meant that Cody and Velvet ultimately lost the match.

After the bell, Shaq was stretchered into an ambulance, but when Tony Schiavone went to conduct a post-match interview with him, he had vanished.

Check out Shaq’s brutal table bump in the clip below.
