WWE Officials Discussing Main Roster All Women’s Event In The Fall

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that WWE officials are internally discussing the idea of presenting an all women’s event for main roster talent in the fall.

As you may recall, women were not allowed to participate in WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble event earlier this year in Saudi Arabia. Sources tell us the company might make up for the controversial decision, however, as the idea of an all women’s show taking place in late September or October is seriously being kicked around by higher-ups.

It’s unclear if the event would additionally feature some of the women on the NXT roster, outside talent or former stars … because the show hasn’t been set in stone just yet.

Pro Wrestling Sheet‘s Editor-in-Chief Ryan Satin has all the details in the video below.

The 49-year-old traveled to Birmingham, Alabama for surgery performed by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Dugas on Tuesday … but no additional information was given on the extent of the injuries.

After the surgery was complete, he tweeted, “Hey everybody, letting you know that both my knee surgeries went well. Ready to ride up outta here.”

While there’s no timeline on his return to the ring, Goldust has already been eyeing potential opponents on Twitter.

WWE just announced that Kaitlyn will make her WWE in-ring return at the 2018 Mae Young Classic.

WWE issued the following:

Former Divas Champion Kaitlyn will return to the squared circle to compete in the Mae Young Classic.

After more than four years away from WWE, former Divas Champion Kaitlyn will make her in-ring return this summer when she competes in the 2018 Mae Young Classic.

The news, which was first reported by ESPN, makes Kaitlyn the first official participant to be revealed for this year’s 32-woman tournament.

Rising to fame in 2010 when she won Season 3 of NXT, which was a competition series among WWE rookies at the time, Kaitlyn quickly became a staple of what is now known as the WWE Women’s division.

With an extensive background in bodybuilding and power lifting, Kaitlyn used her remarkable strength and explosiveness to conquer opponents. She reached the summit of the division in January 2013 when she defeated Eve to capture the Divas Championship in her hometown of Houston on the 20th Anniversary of Raw. Kaitlyn held the title for 153 days before losing it to one of her greatest rivals, AJ Lee.

Upon leaving WWE in early 2014, Kaitlyn set out to build her own business from the ground up. Today she stands as the CEO and founder of Celestial Bodiez, a women’s fitness apparel company. Since she was last seen on WWE TV, Kaitlyn has adorned the cover of Iron Man Magazine, and made a cameo on UpUpDownDown.

Fandango Provides Update Following Surgery

fandango wwe injured fashion police

Fandango recently suffered a torn labrum which required surgery. He was in Birmingham, Alabama yesterday for the procedure and it was said to be a success. Fandango was happy to report his status update via social media and thank everyone for their support.

Fandango’s tag team partner, Tyler Breeze, was asked how he will deal with his partner’s absence. One fan was especially blunt when he asked Breeze if he was ready for six months of being treated like an enhancement talent until his partner comes back.

Breeze responded asking if the fan meant the last three years instead, referencing the team’s frequent losses. Breezango’s last match was in late June on Main Event where they partnered with Bobby Roode to defeat The Ascension and Curt Hawkins in a six-man tag match.

During a recent interview with The Gorilla Position, Fandango opened up about wanting to transition out of the team’s comedic personas and take part in more in-ring action.

“We are not completely comedy and backstage characters, but a little bit of The Files and a little bit of time in the ring. I think we wrestled about 4-5 times by the end of the year last year so this year we are hoping for a little more in-ring time, which I think would be great.”

NJPW previously confirmed he’s conscious and is able to sit/talk. Earlier today, NJPW gave some more information on Takahashi being transported back to Japan for further treatment.

“On July 7, during the G1 Special in San Francisco event, Hiromu Takahashi sustained a neck injury and was taken to a San Francisco hospital for evaluation.Takahashi was able to return to Japan today, and will proceed with treatment. We apologize for the delay in publishing this update, which was in order to ensure smooth and efficient transit for Takahashi at the airport. We deeply appreciate our fans’ concerns. Please stay tuned to NJPW for further updates.”

In his championship match, Takahashi was able to wrestle for another couple minutes after being dropped on his neck. He would eventually hit his finisher (Time Bomb) to pick up a pinfall victory and retain the title. Takahashi is a two-time NJPW Jr. Heavyweight Champion.

Ronda Rousey takes on the ocean’s toughest sharks during Discovery Channel’s Shark Week in “Ronda Rousey Uncaged”Ronda Rousey might be The Baddest Woman on The Planet, but how would she fare against some of the deep sea’s most terrifying creatures?

The WWE Universe will find out the answer to that question during “Ronda Rousey Uncaged,” a special airing during the all-star first night of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week on Sunday, July 22, at 10/9 C.

In the special, Rousey will set out to test her courage and prove that the mentality that made her an Olympic medalist, UFC Hall of Famer and WWE Superstar will allow her to stare down any opponent, whether on land or at sea. She’ll dive into the ocean, guided by former Navy diver and shark attack survivor Paul de Gelder, who will coach her through three rounds of survival training against the heavyweights of the sea, including the fearsome bull shark. That builds up to a historic main event, where Rousey will attempt to step outside the cage to face one of the sea’s ultimate predators – the mako shark.

How will Rousey fare against an opponent she can’t put in her patented armbar? What will happen when she comes face to face with the predators of the deep? Find out during “Ronda Rousey Uncaged,” during Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, Sunday, July 22, at 10/9 C.
