TNA Wrestling Invades Nashville’s CMA Fest

TNA posted the footage above of Mickie James, Eric Young, Jeff Jarrett and James Storm at Nashville’s Country Music (CMA) fan fest last weekend. In the video, Jarrett discussed his ties to Nashville, as well as the new season of Eric Young’s Off The Hook, which premieres this Sunday at 8pm ET on Animal Planet.

TNA Recap: June 6 2013

Bully Ray came to the ring & talked about beating Sting at Slammiversary. Bully said he single handedly beat Sting(in reality it took 6 members of Aces & Eights & a hammer). Bully said there are rumors that Sting might retire. Bully said TNA has no more heroes & that he destroyed them all & there is nobody left. Bully said there is only one thing left to do & said he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame & called out Dixie Carter to the ring. Hulk Hogan came out instead. Hogan said he has to give the devil his do but did you say there is no more competition. Bully said “you heard me damn well dad.” Hogan said he begs to differ & that all summer long Impact Wrestling is going to be hot with competition. Hogan said all summer long the Bound For Glory Series is going to be going down & next week your going to get to see a list of 12 competitors in the Bound For Glory Series in our special selection show. Hogan said tonight Bully will face Jeff Hardy. Hardy came to the ring & Bully said you can’t put me in a match with him tonight. Hogan said as the GM I can do what ever I want. Hogan said he is going to make Hardy real comfortable at home in the match. Hogan said for Bully not to worry because the Title wont be on the line. Hogan said there will be a ladder in the middle of the ring. Bully said it isn’t fair. Hogan said there will be something hanging above the ring & Hardy pulled out a hammer. Hogan said whoever gets the hammer first will get to use it.

Video of Chavo Guerrero Jr & Hernandez talking. Chavo said they have been added to the Bound For Glory Series. Hernandez thanked Chavo for teaching him the Guerrero way & put out his hand for a hand shake. Chavo said he didn’t teach him everything & walked away without shaking his hand.

Bound For Glory Series Qualifier Match: Hernandez vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.: Hernandez got the win. After the match Hernandez offered a hand shake but Chavo gave him a fist bump instead & they hugged.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was greeted backstage by James Storm & Gunner.

Devon came to the ring & said Abyss you got something I want, you got something you stole from me. Devon said at Slammiversary that wasn’t a sanctioned match. Devon called out Abyss to the ring to give him back his Television Title Belt. Joseph Park came to the ring & said Devon robbed him of his chance to win gold for the first time. Park said he is done being bullied & Park took down Devon to the mat & unloaded on him with several wild punches. Park waited for Devon to get up & knocked him back down with a couple of shoulder blocks but Devon gained the upper hand after a shoulder block of his own. Devon beat down Park & knocked Park out of the ring. Devon rammed Park headfirst into the ring post & was about to hit Park with a chair when Abyss’s music played. Devon got in the ring with the chair & waited for Abyss to come out but Abyss doesn’t come. Devon said if you don’t want to come out here then I will find you. Devon hit Park one more time before leaving. Park’s lip was bleeding & when Park saw the blood he demeanor changed.

Devon & Knux was in the back looking for Abyss.

Robbie E came to the ring & said he was the MVP of the 2012 Bound For Glory Series because he beat Jeff Hardy who won it & he even got 5 points. Robbie E said after he wins his qualifying match the sky’s the limit. Robbie E said whoever his opponent is he is going down. Samoa Joe came out.

Bound For Glory Series Qualifier Match: Robbie E vs Samoa Joe: Joe got the win by submission.

Backstage Mickie James talked to Velvet Sky. Mickie said she wanted to explain what happened last week. Mickie said she felt like everything was in slow motion & before she could do anything here came Taryn the day saver & stole her day saving moment just like she stole our match at Slammiversary. Mickie apologized to Velvet & said it wont happen again. Velvet accepted the apology & said she wants her rematch tonight. Mickie said she already has a match for tonight against someone Velvet overlooked while she was champion. Mickie said told Velvet when you healthy & ready we will have that rematch. Velvet said she is healthy & ready. Mickie walked off & Velvet was frustrated.

Video was showed about Kurt Angle being chosen as the next inductee into the TNA Hall Of Fame.

Jeremy Borash introduced the newest member of the TNA roster Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Rampage said he wants to be the best but he knows in order to be the best he has to beat the best. Kurt Angle came to the ring & said you want to beat the best you don’t have to look any further because your staring right at him. Angles said you might be the best in the cage but this is my ring, this is my world. Angle said someday when you think your ready your going to have to go through me & that is real, damn real. Angle & Rampage stared each other down nose to nose. they shook hands & got nose to nose again.

Jeff Hardy backstage, Hardy said tonight is his time for revenge, me & the creatures are going to be incredibly satisfied.

Backstage Bully Ray asked Mr. Anderson if he has heard from D’Lo Brown. Anderson said he thinks D’Lo has a headache. Bully laughed & said last week. Bully said the best thing to happen to the club was getting rid of D’Lo. Anderson mentioned that the VP slot is now vacant. Bully asked for any suggestions & Anderson shrugged his shoulders & said aah. Bully said Hogan thinks he has got us where he wants us & asked why he should have to face Hardy in a ladder match & said why should I have to climb a ladder to grab a hammer & bash Hardy over the head with it. Bully said haven’t I already done that. Bully said why would Hogan risk taking the #1 most beloved guy in all of TNA out. Anderson said maybe he has something against Jeff. Bully asked why are we not represented in the Bound For Glory Series. Bully said I need to take care of that. Anderson asked Bully if he needs any assistance tonight with Hardy. Anderson said it’s your call. Bully said a good VP knows how to make that call & walked off. Anderson said does that mean I’m VP.

Kenny King, Austin Aries & Bobby Roode vs Chris Sabin, James Storm & Gunner: Sabin, Storm & Gunner got the win.

Backstage Devon & Knux continue looking for Abyss.

Backstage Brooke Hogan talked to Taryn Terrell about Taryn’s match with Gail Kim at Slammiversary. Brooke said she was impressed. Taryn asked Brooke if she still loves Bully. Brooke said lets keep it about wrestling.

Mickie James vs Taeler Hendrix: Mickie got the win after faking a knee injury.

Backstage Abyss attacked Knux & Devon. Abyss while holding the Television Title Belt said to Devon that he is taking this belt into the abyss.

Ladder Match with a hammer hanging above the ring: Jeff Hardy vs Bully Ray: Bully was able to climb the ladder to retrieve the hammer. Bully went to hit Hardy with the hammer but Hardy kicked Bully in the gut & nailed him with a Twist Of Fate. The hammer flew out of Bully’s hand & Hardy picked it up. Hardy tried to hit Bull with the hammer but Bully was able to avoid it & ran away. Hardy ran after Bully but fell down clutching his left hip. A referee help Hardy up. Bull was backstage asking for his belt. Hogan came up behind Bully & was about to hit him with a hammer when Brooke runs in a yells for Hogan to stop. Bully turned around & all 3 of them just stared at each other & Bully ran off.

QUINTON “RAMPAGE” JACKSON JOINS FORCES WITH BELLATOR MMA, TNA WRESTLING AND SPIKE TV FOR LANDMARK PARTNERSHIP

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, the mixed martial arts icon and action-movie star has agreed to a monumental, multi-year partnership with Spike TV, Bellator MMA, and TNA Wrestling, it was jointly announced today by Kevin Kay, Spike TV President, Bjorn Rebney, Bellator CEO, and Dixie Carter, TNA Wrestling President

The landmark partnership includes Jackson competing in Bellator MMA, along with joining the superstars of TNA’s “Impact Wrestling,” which includes fellow Bellator fighter “King Mo” Lawal.ampage” Jackson, the mixed martial arts icon and action-movie star has agreed to a monumental, multi-year partnership with Spike TV, Bellator MMA, and TNA Wrestling, it was jointly announced today by Kevin Kay, Spike TV President, Bjorn Rebney, Bellator CEO, and Dixie Carter, TNA Wrestling President.

Spike TV will also create a special reality series featuring Rampage that will lead into his debut with Bellator, along with other entertainment initiatives.

“Rampage is a true superstar both inside and outside the MMA cage” Bellator CEO & Chairman Bjorn Rebney said. “The partnership that we’ve created with Quinton is unlike anything that’s ever been done in the sports & entertainment arena and Rampage is the perfect athlete/entertainer to carry it off.”

“Rampage is one of the best known MMA fighters competing today,” said Carter. “He is a true cross-over star and his talent, big personality and popularity among a wide range of fans make him an extraordinary fit for our company,”

“We are thrilled to create this opportunity for one of the greatest athletes and personalities in MMA,” said Kevin Kay, Spike TV President. “Rampage is a proven ratings driver who brings incredible star power to both Bellator and TNA.”

Jackson (32-11) joins Bellator as a former Pride and UFC champion, having last fought on Spike TV in September 2007, in a fight vs. Dan Henderson that drew nearly 6 million viewers, making it one of the most watched fights in the sport’s history.  In 2009, Jackson served as a coach on Spike’s “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights,” the highest-rated season by far in franchise history, delivering over 3 million viewers per week.  Rampage joins a Bellator Light Heavyweight division that features “King Mo,” Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Emanuel Newton, Attila Vegh and Vladimir Matyushenko.

The charismatic fighter from Memphis, TN began his professional MMA career in 1999 and established his legacy across the globe through epic battles with MMA titans including Wanderlei Silva, Chuck Liddell, Jon Jones and Dan Henderson among others.

Jackson starred in the 2010 blockbuster film, “The A-Team,” as “B.A. Baracus,” the character made famous by Mr. T in the television series.  Jackson’s other film credits include “Confessions of a Pit Fighter,” “Fire With Fire,” “Never Surrender,” and “Miss March.”

Under his new multi-year deal with Spike TV, Rampage will compete in Bellator and also appear on TNA’s “Impact Wrestling.” He also gets a reality show.

As for his old boss, White just sent us this statement: “Good for him. I couldn’t be happier for him. I hope he is happy. And good luck to him.”

Newest TNA Hall of Fame Member – Kurt Angle

During the Slammiversary event, it was announced that Kurt Angle will be the second inductee into the TNA Wrestling Hall Of Fame! The Hall Of Fame ceremony will take place during “Bound For Glory” weekend in October. Kurt Angle is regarded by both fans and peers as perhaps the greatest wrestler of the last decade. The multi-time World Heavyweight Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist will join 2012 inductee “The Icon” Sting in TNA’s Hall Of Fame. Watch a special Kurt Angle career tribute video below as the superstar begins the road to enshrinement this October.
