David Benoit Attends WWE Event After Saying He Was Banned (Photo)

Chris Benoit’s 26 year old son David Benoit recently appeared on the “Pro and Bro Wrestling Podcast” and stated that he was no longer allowed backstage at WWE events. It was speculated that Benoit’s ban may have been handed down after he was photographed wearing an AEW jacket while backstage at a WWE live event back in March.

In an update, it looks like the younger Benoit may have been wrong about the WWE ban as he was backstage at a WWE live event in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada this past weekend. Natalya tweeted the photo seen below with David, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.

She wrote, “Edmonton Vibes!!! #WWELive #DavidBenoit @TJWilson @WWECesaro (Cesaro with the photo bomb)”

For what it’s worth, the interview with Benoit was published earlier this month, almost two full weeks before he attended the weekend live event.

David, who is close with AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, also revealed that he attended AEW Double Or Nothing and All Out earlier this year. He also talked about wanting to join AEW.

“I’m just messing around in the ring right now with a couple of guys from AEW,” David said. He continued, “I want to go to AEW one hundred percent. I love AEW. I love what they do for the boys. Take care of them.”

Impact Wrestling Announces Move To Tuesday Nights On AXS TV

Not only does Impact have a new home for their TV show starting next month, the company has now announced they’ll also be moving from Friday to Tuesday night on AXS TV.

According to the press release:

AXS TV, the exclusive U.S. television broadcast home for IMPACT Wrestling, one of the world’s pre-eminent professional wrestling organizations, today announced IMPACT Wrestling will launch on the network on Tuesday, Oct.1 at 8pE/5pP.

Leading up to the debut of its flagship weekly show IMPACT! on October 29, AXS TV will showcase IMPACT Wrestling’s critically acclaimed pay-per-view events of 2019, broadcasting each of Homecoming (October 1), Rebellion (October 8) and Slammiversary XVII (October 15) in their entirety and hosted by Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore and the voice of IMPACT Wrestling Josh Mathews. Finally, on October 22, THIS IS IMPACT! will serve as a launchpad for the promotion’s AXS TV debut, featuring a preview of the weekly series, profiles on IMPACT Wrestling’s biggest stars and exclusive non-televised matches from BOUND FOR GLORY, IMPACT Wrestling’s biggest pay-per-view event of the year to be held on Sunday, October 20 in Chicago.

As we previously reported, Impact’s parent company Anthem Sports and Entertainment acquired a majority interest in AXS TV back in September. The company announced a few days later that Impact would be moving to AXS TV — the home of NJPW in the United States and WOW.

For those keeping track, yes … this means Impact will occupy the time slot previously held by SmackDown Live once the show moves to FOX.

AEW And TNT Confirmed To Be “Talking About” Producing Companion Studio Show

All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite hasn’t even premiered yet, but a TNT official confirmed they’re already “talking about” producing an additional studio show with AEW.

Brett Weitz – General Manager of TNT, TBS and truTV – confirmed talk of a second studio show while speaking with TheWrap.

“I don’t know if you’ve met Tony Khan, but he’s not short of ideas — or passion,” Weitz told the publication. “So there is a world where we’re thinking about ‘Where does something like that live?’ Knowing full well that within the WarnerMedia ecosystem we have B/R Live, we’ve got all these different components at our disposal.”

Adding, “The more content for these fans the better, and we would love to figure out what something like that looks like.”

“It may not happen on October 2, which is what we’re all kind of gunning towards, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was something that [launched] shortly thereafter,” Weitz additional said in regards to the potential companion series. “We’re thinking about it for sure.”

All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite premieres October 2 on TNT at 8pm ET.

AEW Dynamite To Air On Tape Delay On The West Coast

Wrestling Inc. reports that AEW Dynamite will be airing on a tape delay on the West Coast, not live as expected. This means it will be head-to-head with NXT on the West Coast, too, since that’s on a tape delay, as well.

AEW’s weekly show will debut from Washington D.C. on Wednesday, October 2 from 8 to 10 pm ET. NXT has already begun its run on the USA Network earlier this week with the first hour on USA and the second on the WWE Network. Next week it will be the same crossover, and then going forward both hours will be on the USA Network.

For AEW fans on the west coast, a live feed is possible if they have DirectTV, which carries an East Coast feed nationwide. The TNT app (mobile, Roku, Firestick, Apple TV, web browser) is also an option to get a live feed as it has both the West and East Coast feeds available. TV cable provider information is needed to login into the app though.

In regards to a TV deal in the UK, The Young Bucks recently confirmed AEW is still in negotiations for that deal.

Chris Benoit’s Son David Benoit Says He Wants To Join All Elite Wrestling

David Benoit, the son of Chris Benoit, says he’d like to join All Elite Wrestling.

Benoit was interviewed for a recent episode of the Pro and Bro Wrestling Podcast with Fred Rosser.

At one point in the conversation, Benoit touches on his time training to wrestle with Lance Storm. Rosser – aka former WWE star Darren Young – asks if the 26-year-old has been training as of late and he replies, “I’m just messing around in the ring right now with a couple of guys from AEW.”

David did not get into specifics on who he’s been working with, but noted he has a close relationship with Chris Jericho and attended both Double or Nothing and All Out. Benoit also said he’s had gear made for when he eventually debuts somewhere.

“I want to go to AEW one hundred percent,” he told Rosser when asked where he’d like to wrestle. “I love AEW. I love what they do for the boys. Take care of them.”

Additionally, Benoit – who has posted many photos of himself at WWE shows over the years – also claims he’s no longer allowed backstage at their events. He does not explain why. The last time he attended one of their events back in March, however, he was seen wearing an AEW jacket.

TNT Releases New “All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite” Trailer, Official Announcement And Second Poster

AEW and TNT confirmed that “All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite” will be the official name of their weekly TV show that premieres on Wednesday, October 2 from 8-10pm ET at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

Below is a new “Dynamite” trailer released and the full announcement along with a second promotional poster that AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes tweeted out:

AEW on TNT starts Wed, October 2nd 8/7c – #AEWDynamiteWednesday nights are going to get explosive as All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and TNT reveal the name and first official poster of their upcoming weekly show: All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite. As previously announced, starting Wednesday, October 2, AEW will begin airing live two-hour weekly matches on TNT at 8 p.m. ET. The highly-anticipated, action-packed matches will take place in different cities across the nation each week on Wednesdays, starting in Washington, D.C., at the famed Capital One Arena. Cody Rhodes Says There Could Be A Third Hour Of AEW Content On Wednesday Nights

AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes spoke with IGN about All Elite Wrestling’s upcoming debut on TNT. The show will premiere on Wednesday, October 2 from 8-10 pm ET.

During the interview, Rhodes revealed that a third hour of content could be filmed each week that won’t air on TNT, but rather B/R Live. Since the company plans on rotating talent on and off TNT each week, they want to make sure they are still keeping the wrestlers engaged with their audience.

“It will probably live for people to stream on B/R Live,” Rhodes said. “We have a lot of resources and we want to make sure that people can plug into the wrestlers who we signed who they’re fans of. We’re going to try and keep everybody busy.”

Yesterday, NXT began its run on the USA Network, transforming into a live two-hour, weekly show to go head-to-head with AEW. This week—in select markets—AEW ran commercials during both SmackDown and last night’s NXT.

As noted earlier this week, per the Xfinity TV guide, AEW’s weekly show will be called “All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite.”

AEW Commercials Air During WWE TV This Week (Videos)

It looks like AEW purchased commercial time during WWE NXT and WWE SmackDown this week.

Fans on Twitter noted that they saw commercials for AEW on TNT during Tuesday’s SmackDown and during tonight’s NXT premiere on the USA Network.

The commercials aired in various markets, and it looks like DirecTV was the main provider.

AEW TNT TV Show Name To Be “Dynamite” According To TV Listings

As noted on Tuesday, AEW recently filed to trademark the “All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite” name, which looks to be the official name of their weekly TNT TV show.

In an update, the Xfinity TV guide has confirmed that “All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite” will be the name of the show.

The guide lists a two-hour preview special that is set to air on Tuesday, October 1 at 8pm ET, which is the night before the big premiere on October 2. The name of the countdown special is “Countdown to All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite.”

The big AEW TNT premiere will air live from 8-10pm ET on Wednesday, October 2 from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. Below is the current line-up for that show:
