Mick Foley & Jeff Hardy To Donate Their Brains For CTE Research

Source: WrestlingINC

We mentioned a couple of weeks ago that WWE Hall of Famer and former WWE and WCW Champion Kevin Nash was going to donate his brain to help CTE research after his death and Rob Van Dam will also donate his brain. Now, Mick Foley and Jeff Hardy have also joined in on the cause.

In an interview that WrestlingINC.com  published earlier, former WWE and TNA world champion Jeff Hardy said that he’s only aware of about two or three concussions that he’s had, but still wants to donate his brain to the research cause.

In addition, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley mentioned on Twitter that he’s also donating his brain, and that former WWE Superstar Chris Nowinski talked him into doing it. Nowinski had his career ended due to concussions over ten years ago.

Why Is Mr. Anderson No Longer Working With TNA?

Source: WrestlingINC

As noted, Mr. Anderson revealed that he is no longer working with TNA at a recent indie event. Video of Anderson saying “f–k TNA” is below.

Anderson last appeared for TNA at their Bethlehem, PA TV tapings and according to PWInsider, Anderson was released due to his behavior that took place that week.

ProWrestlingSheet.com reports that Anderson was released from TNA after he failed a drug test … and multiple backstage sources tell us it was given to him after he appeared to be under the influence during a match.

Sources with knowledge of the situation tell us the match against Eric Young was supposed to air on January 19th, but Anderson looked so bad in the ring they had to remove it from the show.

ProWrestlingSheet.com was  told he was immediately forced to take a drug test backstage, then sent home.

TNA Is Looking For Investors

Source: WrestlingINC

It was reported that TNA Wrestling is looking for more investors. PWInsider has answered some of the questions as it relates to why this is happening.

TNA has been forced to cut back on both office space and talent that was scheduled for the UK tour. They’re unable to grow in the state they’re in, and while they’ll tread water, it won’t be profitable in the long run.

TNA is said to have a five-year plan in order, and a partner taking a percentage of the company will aid in making that a reality. The TV deals are helping keep TNA going, but Dixie Carter wants to be a “player.” It’s also said that it is believed Dixie Carter would consider an offer to buy the company outright for the right price. Carter has outright rejected several offers in the past.

Panda Energy still technically owns TNA, but they aren’t funding the company and also aren’t involved in any operations, with this being the case since about when Jeff Jarrett’s stake was bought out last year.

A source told Wrestling Inc that Josh Mathews will actually be in meetings this week with multimedia startups in relation to this.

Davey Richards To Be Out Of Action For Several Months After Knee Surgery

Source: WrestlingINC

We noted earlier this month that one half of the current TNA Tag Team Champions The Wolves, Davey Richards suffered a knee injury on January 31 at an Impact Wrestling taping in Birmingham, England.

Richards underwent reconstructive knee surgery last week to repair a torn ACL. Richards will likely be out of action until somewhere between mid-August and November, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Richards recently signed a new guaranteed deal with the company, so there’s no real pressure for him to return early.
