AJ-Styles-620x250

AJ Styles appeared on MLW’s Talking Shop with Rocky Romero to promote New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 9 pay-per-view and new streaming service. Styles mentioned in the interview not wanting to work for a struggling WWE. Styles said:

“Why would I want to go to WWE? I mean honestly… They’re struggling right now with the network… I’m in the hottest wrestling company in the world – New Japan – and I’m with the hottest wrestling group. We can say it over and over again. It’s absolutely true.”

Style’s comments might just be a work designed to hype NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 9 pay-per-view.

John’s Top 10 Favorite Wrestling Finishers

In order to be top star in wrestling you have to have a great finisher move. In my opinion a good finisher has to be believable as a devastating move or at least  be a move that gets the fans excited to see it. I came up with a list of my top 10 favorite finishers. Some of the finishers that didn’t make my list but want to mention are – The Rock’s “Rock Bottom” & “The People’s Elbow”, Jeff & Matt Hardy’s “Twist of Fate”, Jake “The Snake” Roberts’ “DDT” (Roberts is credited for creating the DDT), Hulk Hogan’s “Leg Drop”, Jeff Jarrett’s “The Stroke”, CM Punk’s “GTS”, Team 3D’s “3D”, Bret Hart’s “Sharpshooter”, Sting’s “Scorpion Death Lock”, Ric Flair’s “Figure 4 Leg Lock”, Triple H’s “Pedigree” & John Cena’s “Attitude Adjustment”. The Spear is also a good finisher and has been used by wrestlers such as Goldberg, Edge, Christian, Roman Reigns & Bobby Lashley.

Also some finishers that didn’t make my list by some of the younger stars of today that I would also like to mention are – Daniel Bryan’s “Yes Lock”, Ryback’s “Shell Shocked”, Bray Wyatt’s “Sister Abigail”, Abyss’ “Black Hole Slam”, Dean Ambrose’s “Dirty Deeds”, Bobby Roode’s ” Roode Bomb”, Dolph Ziggler’s “Zig Zag” and AJ Style’s “Styles Clash”.

I also considered putting on my list Brock Lesnar’s “F5” but I just don’t like Lesnar.

Here is my Top 10 Favorite Finisher:

1. Steve Austin’s “Stone Cold Stunner”

2. DDP’s “Diamond Cutter”

3. Sting’s “Scorpion Death Drop”

4. Rob Van Dam’s “5 Star Frog Splash”

5. The Undertaker’s “Tombstone Piledriver”

6. Randy Orton’s “RKO”

7. Petey Williams’ “Canadian Destroyer”

8. Shawn Michaels’ “Sweet Chin Music”

9. “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s “Top Rope Elbow Drop”

10. Christian’s “Killswitch”

Please feel free to share with me your favorite finishers.

Jeff Jarrett appeared on the Jim Ross Report podcast & talked about his plans for Global Force Wrestling. Jarrett said GFW does not want to rush their product like other companies have done but they’re planning on having their own roster, live events, sponsorships and everything else. Jarrett discussed doing talent exchanges and cross promotions with other wrestling companies across the world because he believes that is what makes the wrestling business healthy. Jarrett said they want to get GFW’s brand out to the fans and create partnerships with companies like New Japan Pro Wrestling and AAA by the time they launch their own TV show.

CM Punk interview with Ariel Hawani

20141207-105622.jpg

Last night after UFC 181 came to a close at the Mandalay Bay Arena in Las Vegas NV MMA journalist Ariel Hawani interviewed the UFC’s newest signee Phil “CM Punk” Brooks. (You can watch the interview here) http://www.mmamania.com/2014/12/7/7347637/video-watch-cm-punk-reason-join-ufc-leave-wwe-interview-mma

One thing that I found interesting is that punk said after he was done with WWE he knew what he wanted to do next in fact he said the first time he brought it up to UFC owner Lorenzo Fereta was back at UFC 170 on February 22nd when Rousey fought Mcmann.

Punk says although he appreciates getting paid this isn’t about the money and its more about achieving a goal he’s always had and at the end of the day not living his life with regret. He also says he understands the doubt since he has an 0-0 record in the sport but he says he’s made a career of proving people wrong and at the end of it all he will have people’s respect.

Punk was asked about his age playing a factor (punk is currently 36) he says that he’s felt better then he’s ever felt and fighting into his 40’s isn’t out of the question because you can’t tell an athlete when to hang it up and he plans on making the UFC his home for the foreseeable feature.

So when will we see CM Punk in the octagon? Well according to the man himself he wants to at least train for 6 months before stepping into the cage so if my math is correct I wouldn’t be surprised if he made his debut durring international fight week in July.

Like punk said in the interview “wether you’ll tune in to see me get my ass kicked that’s ok, or because your curios that’s fine too or if you want to watch to root me on that’s even better but you will tune in”

Well said punk well said
