WWE issues statement on ISIS threat at survivor series (updated)

6:55pm PST Triple H confirms survivor series will still happen Sunday

According to Wrestling Inc this morning hactivist group Anonymous uncovered information today about other upcoming attacks planned by ISIS, following their attacks last week in Paris, France that left 130 people dead.

The only US target listed was this Sunday’s WWE Survivor series from Alanta.

WWE officials had this to say about the potential threat” WWE Survivor Series is currently scheduled as planned while we investigate the matter with federal, state and local authorities.”
It should be noted that although there were threats found the event isn’t 100% confirmed

However The local CBS affiliate in Atlanta reports that the FBI is taking the threat very seriously. They issued this statement to Action 2 News:
“The FBI is aware of reports of an alleged threat that includes an Atlanta, Georgia venue and event. While we take all threats seriously, we do not have specific or credible information of an attack at this time. We have, however, made the proper notifications as we continue to work closely with our law enforcement and private sector partners to keep our community safe.”

They are staying very close to the situation. There’s also a possibility that survivor series may be rescheduled. More updates to come

John Cena set to host new reality TV show: American Grit

When it was announced that John Cena would be taking some time off from WWE, some rejoiced while others were bummed. The question remained why? Was it an injury? Exhaustion? Personal issues?

Well now thanks to a tweet from the man himself we have the answer. “This just in I’m honored to host the new reality competition series #AmericanGrit – guiding 16 men & women as we work together to face a variety of military and survival-themed challenges. Coming soon to FOX!”

This is some exciting news. Cena has always showed his love and respect for the military so em announcement like this hardly comes as a surprise.

It’ll be interesting to see how the show plays out and if the show can do well based on just Cena’s star power alone, more over if the WWE will gain a new audience because of the show. Either way it’s a smart business move.

Ric Flair says nobody asked him about the Charlotte and Paige segment

WrestlingInc.com is reporting that the nature boy Ric Flair apparently had no idea that the controversial segment that took place between his daughter WWE Divas champion Charlotte and Paige this past Monday was even going to happen.

In a segment that involved Paige making a joke about the passing of Reid Flair, caused a lot of waves and it also brought the hall of famer to tears. Ric mentioned on his Woo  nation podcast that he was never approached about the idea by anyone within the company before the segment took place nor afterwards.

Flair mentioned that his daughter Ashley (Charlotte’s real name) was probably to scared to say a thing. He continued by saying ““Obviously I have an opinion, but I’m afraid to voice it because I don’t want anything to affect Ashley’s career,I know that Hunter and Stephanie and Michael Hayes have her back. I don’t think she feels she’s comfortable enough to say ‘no’ to anything yet, she’s only been up there three-months”

He also states that just because Charlotte is the champion it doesn’t mean she could just say no. They can and will get rid of anyone. He described the situation being like a pressure cooker.  “If you’re asked to do something, that’s pretty much the way things operate up there. Everybody walks on pins and needles. Just because you’re the champ, doesn’t mean you say no. It’s a very sensitive issue, it’s very new. I know her mom is on fire. I’m not going out on a limb to say what I think.”

Flair clearly was unhappy about the situation but also added that he knows Hayes and Hunter would never do anything to intentionally hurt Charlotte. He went on to say “I don’t think it would’ve made a difference. . If they ask you to do something, what is she going to say? ‘No, I quit?,”

He ended by mentioning that he will indeed be in attendance at Survivor Series this Sunday so it’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

WWE Divas champion Charlotte makes her match with Paige at Survivor Series official

On the November 16th edition of Monday Night Raw the show closed with one of the most intense contract signings in history and what it made it all the more ground breaking is that it involved two women.

Things got pretty personal between the Divas Champion Charlotte and Challanger Paige who will meet each other in the ring this Sunday at Survivor Series.

Antics were questioned and friendship was thrown out the window. However what everyone is taking about today are the comments made about Charlotte’s late brother Reid. During the contact singing Paige said “your baby brother didn’t have much fight in him did he”?

Those comments sent the champion into a rage and an all out brawl broke loose. Charlotte was so upset that she didn’t even get to sign the contract.

Now thanks to Backstage fallout there’s video of the champ signing the contract and the match is now official.

Whether this segment was something you loved or hated one thing is for sure, people are now invested. This match matters and with all of those elements Paige and Charlotte are sure to have a barn burner this Sunday.’

UFC Strawweight champion Joanna  Jedrzejczyk sustains hand injury

Following her victory over Valerie Letourneau, UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk said she thought she broke her hand during the fight at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia. She was right.

Jedrzejczyk’s manager, Tiago Okamura, verified the champ’s broken hand to MMAfighting.com on Sunday, adding that she would once again need to undergo surgery.

This would be the champs 2nd injury this year. Jedrzejczyk broke her thumb in her first title defense against Jessica Penne this past July.

There was no specific timeline given for Jedrzejczyk’s recovery, but she returned from the broken thumb to defend her belt against Letourneau in less than five months. So, hopefully, she won’t be sidelined for long. We would like to wish the champ a speedy recovery.

Holly Holm ends Ronda Rousey’s undefeated streak via KO

On November 14th 2015 at UFC193 Holly Holm signal handedly did the unthinkable. She did the one thing that 12 other women (15 if you count amateur career) couldn’t do and that was dethrone  the undefeated Ronda Rousey
In what some are calling the biggest upset in UFC history Holy Holm stopped Ronda Rousey with a vicious TKO in the second round.

This left the 78,000 fans in attendance at Melbourne Australia in complete shock. Some cheered while others cried. One thing is forsure though, November 14th will be a day many won’t forget. It’s proof that anything can happen in MMA.

In the post fight press conference Dana White said Rousey was transported to the nearest hospital, as far as the newly crowned champion Holly Holm a rematch with Ronda Rousey seems to be the only thing that makes sense and Dana White agrees.

Rousey who is now (12-1) previously said that she wanted to disappear after this fight so it’ll be interesting to see what happens next. As far as Holm goes she is now (10-0) and now has the biggest target on her back.

Regardless of what side you were on the landscape of the bantamweight division has changed forever.
