MLW Fusion 100 Preview 3/5/20

Major League Wrestling invites you to FUSION 100. Celebrating the centennial episode of MLW’s flagship series, the league will present three big bouts — all main event caliber clashes.

Months after CONTRA Unit’s vicious attack on the #STRONGHEARTS, Japan’s top ranked wrestler CIMA looks to bring down the Samoan Smashing Machine in the historic 100th edition of MLW Fusion.

Philadelphia will host an international showdown as CIMA challenges for the World Heavyweight Championship.

CIMA not only looks to beat CONTRA Unit’s unstoppable force, but also looks to be the first Japanese competitor since Satoshi Kojima in 2003 to be World Heavyweight Champion.

Stevens claims Smith has been running from him for years. On FUSION 100 he will get his long awaited shot at the third generation fighter. How will Team Filthy figure into this bout? Will Smith be our numbered? Will Team Filthy continue their streak of showing no mercy, or will one of MLW’s best stifle the outspoken Stevens?

In the thurs of arguably three certified main event bouts on FUSION 100, England’s Most Dangerous Man” Jimmy Havoc returns to action for the first time since the Last Tangle In Texas to face off against Brian Pillman Jr.

Havoc and his manager Priscilla Kelly have promised pain and suffering for the second-generation star, who has had to have eyes in the back of his head due to ongoing issues with Middleweight champion Myron Reed and his fellow Injustice members. With Pillman confirming a move to under 205 pounds, one could expect Injustice trying to make their presence felt in Philadelphia.

Stardom Cancels More Events Due To The Coronavirus

Last month, Stardom announced a number of events were cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus situation happening in Japan (and around the world). Earlier today, the promotion announced shows on March 20, 21, and 22 have been cancelled for the same reason. As noted, the promotion is streaming a live and free No People Gate event on its YouTube channel from Korakuen Hall where no fans will be in attendance for the show. It begins at 9:30 pm ET / 6:30 pm PT on March 7.

Stadium Employee Who Worked XFL Game Tests Positive For Coronavirus

A part-time employee at CenturyLink Field who worked an XFL game between the Seattle Dragons and Dallas Renegades on Feb. 22 has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a statement from the stadium.

Public health officials determined the risk to be low for the 22,060 people who attended the game. The employee “did not show symptoms at that time and has not been on-site since,” the statement adds.

The unidentified employee was a concession vendor, Lewis Kamb of the Seattle Times reports.

XFL president and COO Jeffrey Pollack said the league has created a COVID-19 task force and is closely monitoring the issue, according to ESPN.

“The health and safety of the extended XFL family – especially our fans in Seattle – is of the utmost importance,” Pollack said in a statement. “We share everyone’s concern about this public health issue and understand it is evolving on a daily basis.”

Scheduled sporting events at CenturyLink Field are currently set to go ahead.

Seventy people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in Washington state, including 11 who have died.

Steve Austin Announced For Special WWE RAW Return For 316 Day

WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin will be returning to WWE RAW on March 16 to celebrate “#316Day” with the WWE Universe.

Austin and WWE made the announcement today. There will be exclusive Austin 3:16 merchandise released via WWE Shop that day, a special Topps Austin digital card set, and custom content on WWE’s digital platforms.

WWE RAW will take place that night from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.

The former WWE Champion revealed that he will appear on the March 16 episode of Raw, an occasion that’s been ceremoniously billed #316Day. Additionally on #316Day, WWE Network will stream a marathon of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin programming, including an all-new episode of “Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions” featuring an in-depth interview with WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart.

#316Day will also feature the release of exclusive Austin 3:16 merchandise will also be available on WWE Shop.com, a special Topps Austin 3:16 digital card set, and custom content across WWE’s global and social media platforms celebrating Austin’s legendary career.

The Texas Rattlesnake has not yet indicated what he’ll be doing in his return, though presumably, Stunners will be in store, mudholes will be stomped, and Hells will be Yeah’d. Prepare accordingly and catch the special #316Day edition of Raw on USA Network at 8/7 C on March 16.

Big Show Reveals Premiere Date For “The Big Show Show” On Netflix, New “Top Secret” Project

The Big Show Show with WWE Superstar Big Show will begin streaming on Netflix the day after WrestleMania 36, on Monday, April 6.

Show confirmed the premiere date during his new interview with Corey Graves on WWE’s “After The Bell” podcast.

WWE and Netlix originally announced Show’s new Netflix project last summer. The live-action multi-camera family comedy was filmed in front of an audience at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. The series will run for 10 thirty-minute episodes, also starring Allison Munn and child actresses Reylynn Caster, Juliet Donenfeld, and Lily Brooks O’Briant.

According to information released last summer, the show will focus on the teenage daughter of Big Show, a retired world-famous WWE Superstar, who comes to live with him, his wife and two other daughters. The big man quickly becomes outnumbered and outsmarted, and is no longer the center of attention.

Show discussed the project with Graves and had nothing but praise for the rest of the cast, the writers and everyone else who worked on the episodes. Show also expressed how fun it was to film in front of a live studio audience. He noted that they filmed on the same Paramount lot where Cheers and other classic shows were filmed at.

Graves brought up another “top secret project” that The World’s Largest Athlete is working on – Big Show’s Burgers. Show didn’t know how Graves heard about the new project, but he said it’s top secret and still in the testing phases. Show said they are still searching for the right kind of beef to use in the burgers, as he wants the burgers to be something that people would want to put on their tables. There’s no word yet on if this is some sort of restaurant project, or a line of burgers that would be sold in stores.

Paige Provides Update After Undergoing Emergency Surgery

Paige’s boyfriend Ronnie Radke noted on Twitter that she was forced to undergo emergency surgery in Sacramento, CA yesterday to remove an ovarian cyst.

Paige noted this morning that he’s doing fine, calling it another small speed bump, something she’s used to.

“Just an update. I’m fine you guys! No more pain and healthy af! Haha just another small speed bump. I’m used to it. Haha so thankful for @RonnieRadke [heart emoji]”

Jake “The Snake” Roberts Appears On Dynamite, Teases Client Coming To AEW (VIDEO)

Cody Rhodes appeared on AEW Dynamite last night to call out MJF for cheating in their match at Revolution, but Jake “The Snake” answered his call instead by walking to the ring.

“The Dark Side” will apparently be coming to AEW soon with Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and it sounds like they’ll be targeting Cody Rhodes first.

Roberts said he hated to spoil the party, but he was tired of hearing Cody’s crying/bitching. Jake then explained that he wasn’t there to praise Rhodes, he was there to slay him … and mentioned having a client. “The Dark Side will be coming to AEW,” Roberts added. “And once my roots have taken hold it will be like a phoenix rising from the ashes.”

Jake also noted that he’d be on the outside of the ring for his client’s matches, and that Cody could bring “that one trick pony” Arn Anderson.
