WWE Moving Forward With All-Women’s Tournament

It’s been reported that WWE plans to do an all-women’s tournament for the WWE Network in early 2017, similar to the Cruiserweight Classic and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Plans are to tape the new series at Full Sail University.

WWE has been reaching out to several female wrestlers who worked extended tryouts over the past few weeks, according to PWInsider. There is said to be great interest in women’s stars Kimber Lee, Evie, Nixon Newell and Heidi Lovelace, among others. There are also plans to use Deonna Purrazzo and Rachel Ellering in the tournament.

PWInsider reports that the plan is for the talents who are signed to report to the WWE Performance Center during the first week of January 2017

WWE Purchasing Another Tape Library

WWE Network News reports that WWE has purchased part of the tape library for the Heartland Wrestling Association. The former WWE developmental territory was ran by Les Thatcher, who worked with WWE to secure the library.

Thatcher told WWE Network News that WWE purchased all footage from 2001 and 2002 – a total of 48 shows that feature such talents as John Cena, Nick “Eugene” Dinsmore, Charlie Haas, Raven, Shark Boy, 3 Count and others.

No word yet on when we might start seeing HWA footage on the WWE Network.

Tyson Kidd Removed From Total Divas Cast To Keep Details Surrounding Injury Under Wraps

WWE Superstar Tyson Kidd says he’ll no longer appear on Total Divas … and Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned it’s because the company want details surrounding his injury to stay private.

Sources close to the situation tell us Kidd still hasn’t healed from the extremely serious neck injury he suffered last year and is still very much hurt, which led to WWE pulling him from the show.

Tyson tweeted last week saying he’d no longer be seen on Total Divas but didn’t explain why.

We’re told it appears as though the company is worried he’ll open up about the night of his injury — which Bruce Hart spoke about last year in an interview and accused WWE of treating the situation with negligence when it occurred.

Despite reports that stated otherwise, Tyson never denied what his family member said. He merely claimed to not have a close relationship with Bruce.

Now that so much time has passed though, sources with direct knowledge say Kidd wants to break his silence and talk about what went down … he just can’t due to his WWE contract.

WWE sources, however, say that the focus of Season 6 is on new cast members and their significant others who are currently on the roster — so the decision was made to not feature Tyson.

During last night’s episode of ESPN’s 5ive Rounds podcast, Conor McGregor’s agent Audie Attar said that they would think about an offer from WWE. He also praised Triple H, who has been complimentary of McGregor. He made sure to add that WWE has not made McGregor an offer yet.

He said: “I think it’s all about business, man. If WWE is going to come with an offer, we are willing to entertain it. We are here. Have their people call his people — which is me. We can have a conversation.“

Brock Lesnar Reportedly Pushed For Longer Feud With Goldberg

Image result for Goldberg vs Lesnar Survivor Series 2016 youtube

Wrestling is a weird business. So weird that a man whose brand is built on the fact he’s an unbeatable freak of nature may have gone to his boss and asked to get his butt kicked by a 49 year old man.

We’ll probably never know exactly of what the conversations which led to Goldberg becoming only the second man to twice beat Brock Lesnar clean in singles matches on WWE pay-per-view (PPV) consisted. But on the post-Survivor Series edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscription required but recommended), Dave Meltzer says Lesnar pushed for the multi-match contract Goldberg apparently signed some time in the past week, and the 86 second beating which occurred last night (Nov. 19) in Toronto was put together to make the WCW legend look as good as possible for future matches against the Beast Incarnate.

Lesnar reportedly wanted more than one date with Goldberg because he sees their rivalry as a big money feud, and Vince McMahon apparently agrees. Once everyone was on the same page with that, and a new deal inked with Goldberg, the decision was made to do the Survivor Series squash. It was apparently done to mirror the kind of matches which got the former NFL lineman over back in his WCW glory days in order to maximize his appeal for the rematch.
