WWE Elimination Chamber & Fastlane Changes

We noted before via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the February 12th WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view from Phoenix was to be a RAW-exclusive event but that changes to the 2017 pay-per-view schedule were reportedly in the works. In an update, it was noted on F4Wonline.com today that Elimination Chamber is now tentatively scheduled to be a SmackDown show. The March 5th Fastlane pay-per-view from Milwaukee was scheduled to be a SmackDown show but that is now tentatively a RAW event.

Which Brand Gets The WWE Elimination Chamber Event?, More News On 2017 WWE PPV Plans

As noted, the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix announced this week that they will be hosting the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in 2017. No other details were provided but word now is that it will be a RAW-exclusive event on February 12th.

SmackDown will then have their Fastlane pay-per-view on March 5th from the BMO Harris Bank Center in Milwaukee.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that they were given a list of 18 planned pay-per-view dates for 2017. The last number WWE publicized was 19. There was serious talk of cutting back to 16 events in 2017, which would mean changes to the current plans.

The original plan was for Extreme Rules and Money In the Bank to be exclusive to SmackDown. The changes in plans may or may not effect those two shows but the information for Elimination Chamber and Fastlane has been confirmed.

Ric Flair Signs New Performer’s Deal With WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has signed a new performer’s deal with WWE and will be a regular part of the RAW roster going forward. After his endorsement of new RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks on Monday’s RAW, WWE has a new poll asking fans if Flair’s support for The Boss is genuine. As of this writing, 57% voted for, “Absolutely. As a 16-time world champion, Flair appreciates the struggle.” The rest went with, “Are you kidding? The dirtiest player in the game is up to no good.”

During last night’s 11/28 WWE RAW in Charlotte, a pre-taped interview aired with Michael Cole talking with Paul Heyman about Brock Lesnar’s loss to Goldberg at Survivor Series.

An emotional Heyman was asked what was next for Lesnar. Heyman revealed that since Goldberg was in the Royal Rumble match then Brock Lesnar would also be.

You can view a recap below from our live report on Monday night.

Heyman says, “Like you care.” With tears in his eyes, Heyman says you come into this business and injuries occur. Heyman says the humiliation and embarrassment – you can’t offer up any excuses. He talks about this match going into the record book and how it is now part of Brock’s legacy. Heyman talks about Brock dealing with loses before, but “this is embarrassing.” He adds it has put Brock in the mindset that he has something to prove, which scares him. “That moment can define you. It can destroy you. Or it can drive you to greater heights than you’ve ever achieved before.” Heyman says think about a Brock Lesnar that has something to prove is capable of. Cole asks what is next. Heyman says if Brock has something to prove he will prove it. He warns that if Goldberg is in the Royal Rumble match, then Brock Lesnar is in the Royal Rumble.
