TNA VS GFW Storyline Update, Eric Young – GFW, Young & Jeff Jarrett Twitter Feud

The TNA VS GFW storyline is scheduled to continue at this months TNA TV tapings in Orlando. A big angle may go down on the July 22 episode of Impact Wrestling, just a few days before the first Global Force Wrestling TV tapings on July 24th in Las Vegas.

It was announced that TNA’s Eric Young will be at this weekend’s GFW Grand Slam Tour events in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Top TNA Executive Leaves The Company

TNA announced of Facebook that Andy Barton has left the company. Barton worked with Dixie Carter at her Trifecta Entertainment company from 1996 until 2002 and then worked with TNA from 2002 until now. He was Executive Vice President up until this week.

TNA wrote the following:

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins Congratulated New TNA World Heavyweight Champion EC3

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins congratulated Ethan Carter III via Twitter for his TNA World Heavyweight Championship win over Kurt Angle.

Rollins and EC3 spent some time training together in WWE’s developmental system before EC3 was released by WWE in 2013. They also tagged together on a couple of Florida Championship Wrestling shows in 2011.

Top TNA Star Set For GFW TV Tapings

The “It Factor” is coming to Las Vegas for Global Force Wrestling TV tapings.

GFW announced Wednesday night that TNA Star Bobby Roode will be in action at the July 24 GFW TV tapings in Las Vegas. Roode is still under contract to TNA, so this seems to be evidence that TNA and GFW will be working together.

TNA Hires New Chief Strategy Officer

TNA announced that they hired Eric Sherman as their new Chief Strategy Officer. TNA issued the following statement:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 1,2015) – Eric Sherman has been named Chief Strategy Officer for TNA Entertainment effective immediately. Sherman is an accomplished media and entertainment executive who served more than 20 years with MTV Networks overseeing VH1 Classic, VH1 Soul and Palladia, served as president of Fuse TV and most recently was CEO of Veria Living, a health and wellness network. Sherman also has served as a talent manager for artists such as Steven Tyler, securing his deal to judge American Idol. In his role as Chief Strategy Officer, Sherman will develop, coordinate and oversee implementation of global strategic initiatives in advancement of TNA and its affiliated brands and properties.

“As we celebrate our 13 year anniversary, TNA, with the incredible support of our fans has been cultivated into a robust diverse global business poised for significant growth,” said TNA President Dixie Carter. “Eric’s depth of experience in television, digital media and talent management undergirds his capacity to organize and lead teams in the development and implementation of vision-fulfilling strategies. Backstage Talk On Possible TNA – GFW Invasion Angle

F4Wonline.com reports that some of the TNA talents being released are actually being “transferred” as part of a TNA – GFW invasion angle. It’s expected that any TNA talent who is now in Global Force Wrestling, James Storm in particular, will be back on TNA TV in the near future.

Magazine No Longer Recognizing TNA World Title

Long-running wrestling news magazine, Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced this week that they are no longer recognizing TNA’s World Heavyweight Championship as a World Title. They will only recognize the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as World Title.

Former TNA Star Joins Global Force Wrestling

Nick Aldis known as Magnus in TNA has signed on with Global Force Wrestling. His TNA contract just expired. Aldis is expected to be part of the next GFW Grand Slam Tour events on July 9 in Wisconsin, July 10 in Pennsylvania and July 11 in Ohio. He will also be headlining the first ever GFW world television taping on July 24 in Las Vegas.

“I’m ready to explore opportunities as a free agent that haven’t been open to me before. Jeff Jarrett has been instrumental in my career development and I have always respected him as a performer and promoter. As soon as I heard about GFW I knew that one way or another I would play a part. I’m very excited about that.” said Aldis.
