TNA Announces Next Set Of Impact Wrestling Tapings, Press Conference And Weigh-Ins For Slammiversary

TNA has officially announced the next set of Impact Wrestling tapings for Thursday, April 21st, April 22nd, April 23rd and April 24th. There will be no live Impact Wrestling event this time but there will be a press conference and weigh-in for the main event for the June Slammiversary pay-per-view. TNA announced the following:

IMPACT WRESTLING RETURNS TO UNIVERSAL STUDIOS FLORIDA APRIL 21-24 BE PART OF LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE WITH COMPLIMENTARY ADMISSIONWHAT: Be part of the adrenaline-pumping action April 21 – 24 as the Stars and Knockouts of IMPACT WRESTLING return to Soundstage 20 on the back lot at Universal Studios Florida for four days of televised events, including flagship IMPACT WRESTLING, airing Tuesday nights at 9e on Pop.

WHEN: Thursday, April 21 through Sunday, April 24 Shows each night are at 7 p.m. ET Doors open at 6 p.m. ET

WHERE: Soundstage 20, located on the back lot at Universal Studios in Orlando.

TICKETS: Admission to the event is complimentary. A limited number of VIP Experiences are available for $89 at ShopTNA.com Each VIP Experience includes a VIP credential, premium seating, commemorative event poster and a nightly meet-and-greet photo and autograph session with a select IMPACT WRESTLING Star or Knockout. April VIPs will also have exclusive access to the press conference and weigh in for a Slammiversary main event match scheduled for the June Pay-Per-View event.

Comprehensive Global Content Partnership

Toronto – Fight Network, the world’s premier 24/7 multi-platform channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, and TNA Entertainment announced today they have entered into a comprehensive content partnership to seize a global digital audience for fight-based content.

Fight Network’s over-the-top (OTT) app available on digital platforms will become the global home for TNA Wrestling content starting in the second quarter of this year. Fight Network and TNA Wrestling will collaborate to produce digital content and will also partner on cross-promotion and joint sales efforts in global markets, as well as in the U.S. and Canada.

Fight Network’s OTT app is available on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Verizon Go90, Layer 3 and KlowdTV.

Fight Network is currently the home of TNA Wrestling programming in Canada, including its two hour flagship weekly program IMPACT WRESTLING, TNA Wrestling’s Greatest Matches and TNA Xplosion. Could Another Veteran TNA Knockout Be Leaving?

Velvet Sky’s TNA contract is set to expire in the next 3-4 weeks, according to PWInsider. It will be interesting to see if Velvet leaves the company as she has been a top merchandise seller for several years.

Angelina Love’s contract expired during her pregnancy and she is now a free agent.

Backstage News On TNA And Dixie Carter Negotiating With Potential Investors

TNA has been in talks with potential partners as they look for a new investor. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio today that talks with one party are said to be relatively serious.

However, the other party buying in wants a majority interest and Dixie Carter does not want to sell a majority of the company. Meltzer noted that the potential partners are looking for something around 55% of the company.

No word yet on where these talks will go or who the potential partner is but talks are happening.

Former WWE NXT Tag Team Signs With TNA, Other TNA Signing News

Former WWE NXT Superstars Sylvester Lefort and Marcus Louis have reportedly signed with TNA, according to PWInsider. They are set to debut on Impact Wrestling in the next several weeks but did not appear in front of the crowd at last week’s tapings.

The former NXT tag team partners were released back in February.

TNA’s Bob Ryder noted on Twitter that the company signed 5 new talents last week. PWInsider has confirmed that one of those talents is Laura “Cherry Bomb” Dennis.

Why Is Mr. Anderson No Longer Working With TNA?

As noted, Mr. Anderson revealed that he is no longer working with TNA at a recent indie event. Video of Anderson saying “f–k TNA” is below.

Anderson last appeared for TNA at their Bethlehem, PA TV tapings and according to PWInsider, Anderson was released due to his behavior that took place that week.

ProWrestlingSheet.com reports that Anderson was released from TNA after he failed a drug test … and multiple backstage sources tell us it was given to him after he appeared to be under the influence during a match.

Sources with knowledge of the situation tell us the match against Eric Young was supposed to air on January 19th, but Anderson looked so bad in the ring they had to remove it from the show.

ProWrestlingSheet.com was  told he was immediately forced to take a drug test backstage, then sent home.

Mr. Anderson Announces TNA Departure

As seen in the video below, former two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion Mr. Anderson announced that he is no longer with TNA.

“I don’t work for TNA anymore, so I agree with you, f–k TNA!,” Anderson exclaimed.

Anderson has been working on and off for TNA since January of 2010.

As of this writing, Anderson remains in the Roster section of TNA’s official website, however so does Austin Aries, who wrestled on last night’s episode of WWE NXT.
