Scott D’Amore is returning to Impact Wrestling … and we’re told the former head of creative will once again fill many roles behind the scenes.

Sources say D’Amore’s main duties within the company will be international relations and creative, but he’ll still be wearing many hats backstage.

Supposedly Scott recently began his new gig by assisting Jeff Jarrett and Anthem with the Pro Wrestling NOAH partnership that was made official yesterday.

NOAH announced the business alliance during a press conference, but so far the details are unclear.

TNA Impact Wrestling Phasing Out ‘TNA’

As you may have noticed recently, Anthem Sports & Entertainment have been phasing out the initials “TNA” and just going with Impact Wrestling. “TNA” hasn’t been used on Impact Wrestling for the last several weeks, and mentions of those initials have been removed from their social media accounts and from their website, with the exception of links to ShopTNA.com and Total Access TNA Wrestling (which don’t work in many browsers). While the TNA logo still appears on their title belts, they are simply referred to as the “World Heavyweight Championship”, “X Division Championship” and “World Tag Team Championship” on their website.

Jeff Jarrett Returning To TNA As Executive Consultant, Dutch Mantel Returns As Creative Consultant

Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed that Jeff Jarrett will be returning to the company at tonight’s television taping … and we’re told his new role is Executive Consultant.

Jarret’s return was first reported by PWInsider and we’re told he’s already at the Impact Zone working on the show. Same for Dutch Mantel, aka former WWE manager Zeb Colter, who is also returning to TNA as a creative consultant.

Jeff was an original TNA founder, but left the company in 2013. He returned a year later to get inducted in their Hall of Fame and behind the scenes Dixie Carter bought his shares in the company.

Jarrett launched Global Force Wrestling during his time away, and we’re told GFW wasn’t included in his deal to return due to previous contractual obligations for the wrestling fed.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reached out to Jeff for comment and he told them, “This is a great opportunity for myself and GFW. And, I feel it’s great for the wrestling business.”

Anthem Sports Acquires Control Of IMPACT Wrestling, Dixie Carter No Longer Chairman

anthem sports tna new owners dixie carter

Last year was kind of rough for TNA and the future of the company was largely left unresolved … but now Anthem Sports has announced that they’ve acquired control of Impact Wrestling.

Anthem shared the news in a press release which stated they have, “entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority interest in TNA IMPACT Wrestling.”

Anthem Executive Vice President Ed Nordholm commented on the acquisition saying, “We are thrilled to have acquired TNA IMPACT Wrestling . . . IMPACT has been a dominant wrestling brand around the world for more than a decade and we are confident that Anthem can leverage its assets and strategic partnerships to take IMPACT Wrestling to even greater heights.”

Nordholm will serve as President of Anthem’s newly formed Anthem Exhibition Wrestling, LLCwhich will presumably preside over IMPACT, though its exact role was not made clear.

As for Dixie Carter, she will resign from her role as Chairman of Impact Ventures and join the Advisory Board of Fight Media Group — which holds Anthem’s combat sports-related assets.

She’ll also remain a minority equity stakeholder.

We can only hope that this new development will provide the stability that IMPACT needs and that the talents can rest a bit easier knowing TNA is under new management.
