Tammy ‘Sunny’ Sytch Sobs & Laughs In Court After 17-Year Prison Sentence (Photos/Videos)

WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch was sentenced to 10.6 years for driving with a suspended license causing death, and 7 years for DUI manslaughter to be served after that. So a total of 17 years in federal prison. This will then be followed by 8 years post-release probation.

While in court, Sytch blamed the death of Chris Candido on her downfall. She then went on to deliver a “tearful” prepared statement. There weren’t any tears streaming down her face though. At one point, she apologized for her actions and turned to the victim’s family and said, “I know my words are not enough but please know that I think about you every day.”

Once Sytch was done with her prepared statement, she sat down and laughed as her lawyer attempted to feed her some water while she was handcuffed.

Sytch was brought into the courtroom wearing an orange jumpsuit and shackles on her wrists.

Sytch appeared stoic as the judge sentenced her to 17 years in prison. The judge ruled in Monday’s hearing that once Sytch is done with her 17-year sentence, she will have eight years of probation and must have a substance abuse evaluation. She will also have to do 50 hours of community service, pay a $10,000 fine, and her driver’s license is permanently revoked. She had no questions for the judge and has 30 days to appeal. She will be 67 years old when she is released from prison.

After sentencing, Sytch was escorted out of the courtroom by officials and taken back to jail to continue to serve out her sentence.

Sytch was facing a maximum prison sentence of up to 25 years.

Sentencing Date Reportedly Set In WWE Hall Of Famer Tammy Sytch (Sunny) DUI Manslaughter Case

Tammy Stitch known by many by her WWE ring name Sunny, is expected be sentenced on November 27.

After over a year and a half, Tammy Sytch’s trial of charges of DUI Manslaughter over her role in the death of a 75-year-old man is finally coming to an end, it may be bringing along massive consequences for the WWE Hall of Famer.

PWInsider confirms that Sytch will be sentenced for said charges on November 27 at 9 a.m. In addition to DUI Manslaughter, Sytch will also be sentenced on three other charges, including multiple counts of DUI causing an injury to a person, and DUI causing damage to property. The sentencing comes after Sytch pleaded no contest to all charges in August, accepting a guilty plea while also not admitting fault or guilt. Between the charges, Sytch could be sentenced to at least 25 years in prison for her actions, with the prosecution said to be seeking over 26 years. Even with potential good behavior lessening her sentence, Sytch would still be required to serve 4 years minimum in prison.

Sytch was first arrested back in May 2022, two months after the March incident where she collided with the victim’s car at a traffic stop. Her blood alcohol levels were later shown to be three and a half times over the legal limit, and an unsealed bottle of vodka was said to be found in the car after the accident. Sytch, who stated in court she suffered from PTSD following the incident, has also been sued by the family of the victim, which she had filed to have dismissed last year. No update was provided on the civil suit.

Tammy ‘Sunny’ Sytch Being Sued Following Car Accident That Led To A Man’s Death

A civil case has begun as police await the results of a toxicology test before pressing criminal charges.

Tammy Sytch, better known to a lot of wrestling fans as Sunny, has been caught up on the wrong side of the law a number of times in the past few years. The latest incident Sytch was involved in could be the most serious so far pending the results of a toxicology report. The WWE Hall of Famer was allegedly driving a car at speed when it collided with another, resulting in the driver of the hit car passing away due to their injuries.

A blood sample taken from Sytch while she was hospitalized is currently being tested and will determine what charges are brought against her, if any. However, the estate of the 75-year-old man who died following the collision has already brought a civil case against the former wrestler and her boyfriend James Pente reports PWInsider.

The civil suit alleges negligence on Sytch’s part, and that Pente was vicariously liable for allowing his partner to get behind the wheel of a car in the state she was allegedly in. The estate of Julian Lasseter, the man whose car Sytch hit, is seeking a payout in excess of $30,000. That money will cover medical and funeral expenses amassed since the incident, as well as money for Lasseter’s daughter who is suffering from the sudden and unexpected loss of her father.

Witnesses at the scene of the collision claim Sytch’s vehicle was traveling at a high speed right before it hit Lasseter’s car, which was at a standstill. Lasseter’s car was knocked forward with such force that it collided with the car in front of it. None of the people in that third car were seriously hurt but have complained of back, neck, and side pain.

As touched upon above, Sytch has been in trouble with the law a number of times over the years, even finding herself in jail on more than one occasion. Many of her arrests have come for driving while under the influence of alcohol, while earlier this year she was arrested for weapon possession and making terroristic threats.

Police Suspect Tammy “Sunny” Sytch Was Intoxicated When She Caused A Fatal Three-Car Crash

Police suspect WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch was intoxicated when she caused a fatal three-car crash in Ormond Beach, Florida on Friday, March 25.

Ormond Beach Police say Sytch failed to stop around 8:28 PM while driving southbound on U.S. 1, just north of Granada Boulevard that Friday night, when she crashed into a stopped vehicle. That vehicle then crashed into the vehicle in front of it. The driver of the vehicle hit by Sytch, identified as Julian Lafrancis Lasseter Jr. of Daytona Beach Shores, was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A search warrant was approved and executed to obtain a blood sample, which police are using to investigate if Sytch was impaired at the time of the crash. Toxicology results are pending, and police have requested an expedited timeframe for the processing of Sytch’s samples. The results will be made available once the department receives them, and criminal charges may be filed.

TMZ Sports has obtained police documents that show Sytch was driving a 2012 Mercedes-Benz when she crashed into the rear of a 2013 Kia Sorento, which was stopped at a stoplight. The Kia then crashed into the rear of a 2011 GMC Yukon, which was also stopped at the light.

The driver of the Kia was 75 year old Lasseter Jr. of Daytona Beach Shores, who was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead from injuries suffered in the wreck. Lasseter is survived by a daughter and two grandchildren, among others.

The driver and passengers of the Yukon complained of neck, back, side, and head injuries, but were not taken to the hospital. Sytch was taken to the same hospital as the victim, but with unknown injuries.

Police say two witnesses saw Sytch “driving at a high rate of speed” before crashing into the Kia.

Police also say they believe Sytch was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the wreck. A spokesperson for the Ormond Beach Police Department said they are actively investigating the crash, and that toxicology results could ultimately lead to criminal charges against Sytch.

Sytch’s boyfriend lives in Florida.

Sytch has not publicly commented on the crash as of this writing, but she did make a tweet on the same day of the wreck. While the crash happened around 8:30 PM ET, Twitter shows Sytch posted a tweet at 2:33 PM that day.

She wrote, “Well assholes since my name has been towards the top of the kill list for the past 20 years, and I’m still fucking alive, s–t, my autograph is worth more now so once I do croak you can sell it for a lot more money?! Come see me out at a signing”

Sytch has dealt with numerous legal issues in recent years, and at different times she was incarcerated for various charges. She was released from prison last summer after serving a nearly one-year sentence but was then arrested again back in January of this year following a domestic incident where she allegedly threatened to kill a man with a pair of scissors.

Sytch was then arrested again in late February on multiple charges, including Operating Under the Influence of Liquor & Drugs, Driving on a Suspended/Revoked License, and more.

Tammy Sytch Arrested For Weapons Possession And Terroristic Threats

Tammy Sytch, formerly WWE’s Sunny, is currently being held in Monmouth County jail.

Wrestlers winding up on the wrong side of the law is certainly nothing new. However, it seems to happen to Tammy Sytch, better known to wrestling fans as WWE’s Sunny, more often than most. Sytch has been arrested multiple times and spent numerous spells in jail from 2012 up until last year. Now the Hall Of Famer has been arrested again and is currently being held in Monmouth County jail.

According to TMZ, Sytch faces two charges of illegally possessing a weapon, and one charge of making terroristic threats. The only additional information known at this time is that the weapon, or weapons, Sytch had were not firearms. New Jersey classes the weapon possession charges as third-degree, and the terroristic threats as a fourth-degree crime.

Third-degree crimes carry a maximum of five years each in New Jersey, and one year for a fourth-degree crime. That means if Sytch is convicted of all three, she could be facing up to 11 years in prison. As mentioned above, Sytch has spent a few spells in jails, prisons, and correctional facilities. However, she has never come close to spending that long a spell behind bars.

The ins and outs of what happened exactly are unclear at present. However, she did update fans on Twitter earlier this week by revealing she was “going through some shit”. It’s possible whatever Sytch was referring to on social media a few days ago is connected to or has led to what got her arrested on Thursday. Here’s hoping the whole situation sounds much worse than it appears on the surface.

Despite the many returns of female Superstars from the past in WWE over the past few years thanks to the women’s revolution, there has been no indication Sunny will ever appear in WWE again. The last time she was ever openly connected to the company was when she was inducted into the Hall of Fame over a decade ago. It’s unlikely she will ever return to WWE TV in the future, especially if the latest charges brought against her result in convictions.

WWE Hall Of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch Arrested In New Jersey

Sources at PWInsider have learned that WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch was arrested in Freehold, New Jersey yesterday. Sytch currently remains incarcerated at the Monmouth County Corrections Facility as we anticipate further details about her arrest.

A bench warrant was apparently issued for Sytch in the State of Pennsylvania on 2/15, as well. On that day, the Carbon County Probation Department started the process to revoke Sytch’s October 2018 parole. Court records indicate that Sytch paid a $120 fee in the months of October and November 2018 to begin reimbursing the State of Pennsylvania for the costs in her legal cases. Since then, Sytch reportedly did not make any additional payments.

Sunny’s legacy as a performer has been accompanied by run-ins with the law for a few years now. In October 2018, Sunny was released from jail after serving the necessary time for failing to appear in court following her two DUI arrests in New Jersey the same year. Prior to that, Sunny had also been booked for DUI on three separate in Pennsylvania. She was arrested for DUI on May 30, 2015 in Mahoning Township, PA after police witnessed her driving erratically into a Wal-Mart parking lot. She was then arrested again in Lehighton, PA on June 1, 2015 after her car crossed the center yellow line multiple times, then entered oncoming traffic. At the time, she was unable to provide proof of insurance or a valid driver’s license. Sunny was then arrested again on June 20, 2015 in Towamensing Township, PA after crashing her car into a ditch. She told police that her GPS told her to make a “sudden turn” and that’s why she turned wide into a ditch.

Following her arrests and among other consequences, Sunny was sentenced to 5 years of probation with bi-weekly alcohol testing, 125 hours of community service and $2,100 in fines. She was released but warned by the judge that she would be in trouble if she had any more issues during her 5 years of probation. 18 days into the probation, Sunny was arrested in Northampton County, PA. She plead guilty to driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle without insurance, displaying license plated on a car to which they didn’t belong, operating a vehicle without proper inspection and driving without evidence of an emission inspection.

Sunny’s troubles continued when she was rushed to a hospital in Palmerton, PA on September 12, 2016. She was then charged with possession of alcohol and being under the influence of alcohol, which led to a probation violation. She was released from the hospital on September 20 and arrested again on September 23 of that year after she was brought back to the hospital when police were called to her home. That experience would also see Sunny charged with being under the influence of alcohol, yet another probation violation. Sunny was then taken into custody, from the hospital, and taken to the Carbon County Correctional Facility. She was locked up for 5 months and paroled in February 2017.

UPDATE:

The Asbury Park Press reports that Sytch was arrested after being suspected of driving while intoxicated.

According to the report, Seaside Heights police and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office stopped Sytch at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sytch was charged by Seaside Heights police with DWI, reckless driving, open container in a motor vehicle and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. She was charged by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office for driving with a suspended driver’s license, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and careless driving.

Sytch was released to the Holmdel Police Department on Saturday and booked in Monmouth County Jail on charges of contempt after Seaside Heights police found that she had a series traffic warrants out of Holmdel and Knowlton. She was released from Monmouth County Jail after seeing a judge via video conference.

Sytch has faced a half dozen arrests since 2015. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.
