A former ICW Women’s Champion, Martina has wrestled all over since 2011, including Progress, Over The Top and Discovery Wrestling. She is a frequent intergender wrestler, winning the OTT Gender Neutral Champion at one point. Mark Briscoe Dealing With Knee Injury, Out Of CMLL’s Grand Prix Tournament

Ring of Honor announced that Mark Briscoe will be out of tonight’s CMLL’s Grand Prix tournament because of a knee injury. The injury happened during an ROH live event last weekend.

Delirious will be replacing Briscoe on Team Resto del Mundo. The other team members include ROH World Champion Matt Taven, Jay Briscoe, Kenny King, Big Daddy, Luke Hawx, Mecha Wolf 450, and Oraculo.

During CMLL’s Grand Prix press conference, Jay Briscoe commented about his brother’s injury, “It sucks that he’s hurt. We do double-team moves like no other tag team in this world, so that was definitely going to be a blow to the Mexican team, but it ain’t going to matter. We still gonna win.”

Mark Briscoe is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam.

Partnership Between ROH And NWA Ends

The partnership between Ring of Honor and the National Wrestling Alliance has come to an end, according to PWInsider. The two sides reportedly had an amicable split, but have left the door open down the road to partner up again.

NWA Worlds Champion Nick Aldis was originally advertised for ROH Summer Supercard on August 9 in Toronto, but he will no longer be working the event.

NWA Vice President Dave Lagana—who had produced numerous videos for ROH over the last several months—also finished up with ROH this past weekend. NWA President Billy Corgan is looking to put together a weekly stand-alone NWA series later this year.

The two promotions worked together for last April’s NWA Crockett Cup where PCO and Brody King won the tournament and are the current NWA World Tag Team Champions.

NWA Heavyweight champion Nick Aldis comes out to announce his replacement tag partner with his bout against the Briscoes after scheduled teammate, Colt Cabana, went down with injury. Cabana shows off his cane at the booth to indicate that he’s definitely not competing. Aldis gets on the mic and calls Cabana a professional, and that he knows he wouldn’t have missed a booking unless his injury was very serious.
