Rey Mysterio, Impact World Champion Brian Cage and Melissa Santos were in Medellin, Colombia for a medical tourism trip.
Mysterio, Cage and Santos received stem cell treatment at the BioXcellerator facility in Medellin. During the trip, the wrestling stars also went paragliding.
Mysterio last appeared on RAW two weeks ago and teased retirement before his son, Dominick, talked him out of it. Mysterio is slated to return to RAW this Monday.
Following an injury that forced him to drop the United States Championship, Rey Mysterio will return to Raw this coming Monday.
WWE.com announced the following:
Following the unbelievable set of circumstances in which he was forced to relinquish the United States Championship due to a shoulder injury, Rey Mysterio will return to Raw this Monday night.
What will The Greatest Mask of All Time have to say upon his return and how will he impact the ever-changing landscape of the red brand? Find out when Raw goes down this Monday night at 8/7 C on USA Network.
WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio took to Instagram this week and revealed that he has a separated AC joint in his left shoulder. Mysterio noted that he has been having trouble lifting his arm.
Mysterio is scheduled to be on Monday’s RAW to address the injury and the controversial finish to his win over Samoa Joe at WWE Money In the Bank earlier this month. Rey won the title in that match, which was rushed due to Joe’s busted nose, but he did not appear on RAW this week. Rey was seen in Birmingham, Alabama earlier this week, likely visiting with WWE doctors over the shoulder injury.
Mysterio noted that he’s been doing physical therapy at The Lab in Riverside, CA, and he hopes that will improve his range of motion, which has been really bad since the match with Joe. Rey blamed it on taking the Uranages from Joe.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks took to Twitter to praise former TNA X Division Champion The Amazing Red, who runs the House of Glory wrestling promotion and school in New York City. Banks posted the tribute because Red has announced his retirement from the ring.
When I thought my ideas were too crazy, he believed in me. When I thought I knew a lot, he showed me how much more there is to learn. @AmazingRed1 helped me grow as a performer. He's taught me so much, and I am honored and grateful to call him a friend. pic.twitter.com/jU9qVEVrom

As seen below, Ali also took to Twitter to post a tribute to Red. Ali’s video features tributes to Red from Seth Rollins, Banks, Bayley, AJ Styles, Lince Dorado, Kevin Owens, Ricochet, Brian Kendrick, Rey Mysterio and WWE producer Sonjay Dutt.
Ali wrote, “@AmazingRed1 was such a huge influence on me. But I’m definitely not the only one who was influenced by him. He should know that.”
You can see the tribute video below, along with Red’s announcement video.
Red noted that he originally planned to “leave wrestling” after the WWE Cruiserweight Classic in 2016. In what could have led to his big break, Red was originally scheduled to work the tournament but an ankle injury kept him out of it. He said he felt like he has done everything he was supposed to do through HOG, and he’s cancelling all the shows he had planned for WrestleMania 35 Week in New York City. Red said he will continue to teach at HOG, and he will continue to support the business. “Throughout all my life, I have done things for everybody else, I’ve never done things for myself,” Red said.
He later added, “Be happy for me, don’t be upset. The reason why I made this video was for myself, because once I know I put this out there, there’s no turning back. This is me looking out for me. So, be happy about that.”
Rey Mysterio took to Instagram and posted his first public comments on the legitimate ankle injury suffered during Monday’s RAW main event with Baron Corbin.
Rey, who is still scheduled to challenge WWE United States Champion Samoa Joe at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday, wrote, “Suffered an injury on my right ankle this past Monday night on Raw against @baroncorbinwwe Praying to be ready for Mania this Sunday!”
Rey also included this video that apparently shows when he suffered the injury:
WWE has announced that Rey Mysterio suffered an ankle injury during Monday night’s RAW main event loss to Baron Corbin.
The injury was announced by Kayla Braxton in the video seen below, filmed backstage at SmackDown yesterday in Baltimore, Maryland. Rey’s match with Andrade had been nixed from last night’s WrestleMania 35 go-home edition of SmackDown.
Rey is still scheduled to challenge WWE United States Champion Samoa Joe at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday. Braxton noted that Rey’s injury will be re-evaluated as we get closer to the pay-per-view.
Rey Mysterio applied to trademark the “Prince Mysterio” name on Friday, March 15. The trademark was filed for merchandise use. This is the likely ring name for Rey’s son Dominic, who returned to WWE TV for a backstage segment with his dad on last night’s SmackDown. Dominic, who has been training for a pro wrestling career, revealed that he will be ringside at WrestleMania 35 for the match between Rey and WWE United States Champion Samoa Joe.
Back in November Rey filed to trademark the “Principe Mysterio” name, which translated to Prince Mysterio.
Fans were treated to a surprise at last night’s NXT Live event in San Diego, California when WWE’s Rey Mysterio made an unannounced appearance in his hometown to confront NXTsuperstar, Kona Reeves.
As seen in the tweet below, Reeves took to the ring and grabbed a microphone to insult the city of San Diego, mentioning how the San Diego Chargers transitioned back to Los Angeles in 2017. Mysterio would enter to a roaring ovation and confront Reeves inside the ring. Mysterio ultimately gave Reeves a handshake but said, “Please, don’t ever talk trash about my city again.”
Thing seemed situated until Reeves attacked Mysterio from behind, inciting an exchange where Mysterio would gain the advantage and connect with a 6-1-9 on Reeves. Reeves went flopping out of the ring as the crowd cheered.
WWE has confirmed several more dates for Rey Mysterio, including the special Starrcade live event plus Survivor Series and TLC.
