Paige Opens Up About Hitting Rock Bottom After Her Suspensions And Leaked Sex Tapes

Most wrestling fans are aware of the peaks and valleys that Paige has gone through in her career – both inside and outside of the ring. But many may not be aware of just how low those valleys were in the aftermath of her 2016 WWE suspensions for violating the Wellness Policy and the subsequent leaking of sex tapes involving Paige.

Paige suffered from bouts of depression and was nearly suicidal by 2017 as she dealt with the fallout of her private life becoming public. She was also treated for anorexia and her hair started falling out according to a profile from the New York Post.

“To be publicly humiliated like that was terrible, and I don’t wish that for anyone,” Paige said.

All the while this was going on, Paige was also dealing with a neck injury that kept her on the shelf for a year-and-a-half.

When she thought she had hit rock bottom, a random encounter with a seven-year-old girl at a grocery store changed Paige’s outlook on life.

“Of course, [the girl] didn’t have the internet and thought I was the most beautiful and most successful woman in the world,” Paige said. “It opened my eyes to so many things. I was like, ‘I’m gonna let videos get in the way of things?’

“I thought, what am I doing? I need to be successful for her. My whole journey was supposed to be about inspiring people.”

Just as Paige strives to inspire others, this chance encounter with the young girl inspired Paige and she was able to snap out of the funk she had been in.

Unfortunately, a new injury to her neck would ultimately end Paige’s career, but as one door closes, another one opens and Paige became the General Manager of SmackDown Live until this past December.

She also launched a makeup and clothing line and her journey in wrestling has made its way to the big screen. Fighting With My Family debuts in theaters on Friday and it depicts the career of Paige up to her becoming the youngest Divas Champion in WWE history.

The film is co-produced by The Rock and it also features several other wrestlers including Zelina Vega and The Big Show.

It was revealed last night on SmackDown Live that Paige is no longer the SD Live GM.

Shane McMahon kicked off SmackDown in the backstage area giving a speech to the roster about how things are going to be changing, just like what was said on RAW. He also explained that wrestlers will now be held accountable for what happens on the show every week.

He then brought Paige forward and praised her work as GM, but confirmed she’d be getting a new position on the show. It was not said what that would be quite yet.

The 26-year-old was assigned to the role in April after announcing her in-ring retirement.

This is all part of Vince McMahon and family announcing they’d be taking back control of Raw/SmackDown and shaking things up.

It was a story that my [Seven Bucks Productions] had to tell. That girl [Paige] would go on to help redefine [WWE] women’s wrestling.”

Paige To Alberto El Patron: “Don’t Make Fun Of Someone With Mental Health Issues” (AUDIO)

WWE star Paige has responded to former fiancé Alberto El Patron taking a shot at her mental health last month on social media, saying his comments hurt her feelings.

The SD Live GM made the comments during an interview with Lilian Garcia on the latest episode of “Chasing Glory.” During the conversation, Garcia brought up the post in which Del Rio compared his current girlfriend to Paige and said this one hasn’t been “committed in 2 mental hospitals.”

“Don’t make fun of someone who has mental health issues,” Paige said. “Because he knew at that point how depressed and how, like I was on rock bottom, and how I wanted to kill myself. He knew all that stuff. So to throw that out there like that — it’s pretty mean.”

Paige has gone on record about the dark spell she experienced after her XXX footage leaked online. That was followed by a tumultuous break-up with Del Rio that included a handful of incidents where police were called. The couple was engaged to be married but separated in 2017.

“I thought over a year of us not being together, I never expected him to bring me up again. So, I was just like, I’m not even going to respond to that right now,” she added.

Paige also says she didn’t immediately respond because she didn’t want Del Rio to know it hurt her.

“You don’t talk like that about a women — especially on the Internet for everyone to see. Just keep your mouth shut,” she told Garcia. “If you don’t like me, that’s fine. We haven’t had any contact for over a year. It baffles me.”

She went on to say she’s in a good place now and the happiest she’s been in quite sometime. Paige said she’s enjoyed using her personal experience to help other women who are struggling.

Paige also talks about her in-ring career ending during the full interview and so much more.

Sid Vicious Complains About Paige Being GM, Says She Should’ve Been Fired Over XXX Leaks, Paige’s Response

sid vicious sycho paige gm smackdown live complaints shoots video interview

Ex-WWF and WCW star Sid Vicious is unhappy with Paige being the GM on SmackDown Live, saying he believes she should’ve been fired over the hacked XXX footage that leaked online.

Sycho Sid was recently interviewed by The Hannibal TV and when asked about Paige’s role he said, “I think it’s the stupidest thing, but again … it goes to how the business is. When the business is down like it is, they’ll ok things like that.”

It’s worth mentioning here that the business is not down. WWE stocks are up and the company recently locked down a billion dollar television deal for SmackDown, where Paige is GM.

“After that, I wouldn’t have her on my show,” Sid said after implying she put the videos and pictures on the internet herself. “I would’ve fired her immediately.”

For those who don’t recall, Paige’s XXX content was hacked from her phone and computer.

The 57-year-old wrestler went on to suggest Paige should’ve been held to the same standard as Charlie Rose, who was fired by PBS for making unwanted sexual advances towards multiple women. This includes lewd phone calls, walking around naked in their presence or groping female co-workers … not “hanging around in his underwear” as Vicious states.

Sid — who once stabbed Arn Anderson with scissors — finished his thoughts on the topic saying, “Let them do dark matches or something, but don’t make them the GM of your show.”
