Michelle McCool Set for WWE Hall of Fame Induction in 2025

The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025 just gained another legendary name—Michelle McCool. The former Divas and Women’s Champion was surprised with the news earlier today by Paul “Triple H” Levesque during an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up. This comes just two weeks after The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels shocked Levesque with his own Hall of Fame induction announcement.

During the segment, Levesque praised McCool’s contributions to WWE, emphasizing her role in evolving women’s wrestling. “It’s long overdue,” he told her. “You’re one of the women that transformed what we do and brought it into the modern era… Just amazing. So happy for you and such a well-deserved honor.”

A Trailblazer in WWE’s Women’s Division

McCool’s WWE journey began in 2004 as a participant in the WWE Divas Search. Despite finishing seventh, her athleticism and charisma earned her a contract, leading to a successful in-ring career during the Ruthless Aggression era.

In 2008, McCool made history by becoming the inaugural WWE Divas Champion, defeating Natalya at The Great American Bash. After dropping the title to Maryse later that year, she embraced a new persona as a dominant heel, setting the stage for her iconic partnership with Layla as LayCool. The duo ran roughshod over the SmackDown women’s division, with McCool capturing both the Women’s Championship and a second Divas Championship—winning the latter in a historic unification match against Melina at Night of Champions 2010.

A Legacy Cemented

McCool stepped away from full-time competition in 2011 after losing a Loser Leaves WWE match to Layla. However, she has made sporadic returns, appearing at WWE Raw 25 Years, WWE Evolution, and multiple Royal Rumble matches.

Now, with her place in WWE history officially recognized, McCool joins an already star-studded 2025 Hall of Fame class. With WrestleMania weekend approaching, fans will soon see The All-American Diva take her rightful place among the greats.

Earlier today on his Instagram and Twitter, Undertaker posted a photo with him and his wife, Michelle McCool, standing in front of a private jet. In the caption Undertaker wrote, “Landed late last night…must be meeting with somebody important today! #OnTheRoadAgain.”

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Taker is still not scheduled to work a top match at WrestleMania 35.

It was also mentioned as of last week, Taker is not planning on working the next Saudi Arabia WWE event, which is expected for May. The Observer noted if Taker was going to wrestle, the Saudi show would be the most likely date for him because it’s the biggest payday of the year. WrestleMania would be the next most likely date.

Taker is now taking more appearances outside of WWE, where he is charging a reported $25,000 per hour for appearances within the United States.

According to PWInsider, The Undertaker and Michelle McCool were both seen in Philadelphia, the site for Sunday’s Royal Rumble. McCool initially showed interested in participating when the Women’s Royal Rumble match was announced last month. According to the report, WWE did reach out to her about an appearance.

In regards to The Undertaker, no word on if he’s there for an appearance of his own or just traveling to see his wife potentially be in the Women’s Rumble. Undertaker did participate in last year’s Rumble, entering at number 29, tossing out four Superstars (including Goldberg) before being eliminated by Roman Reigns. Undertaker would lose to Reigns at WrestleMania 33 and most recently cut a promo at the Manhattan Center for RAW 25 earlier this week.

Here’s a photo and short video of Undertaker in Philly, both taken earlier today.
