Matt Hardy Becomes ‘Woken’ (Video)

Last night on RAW in Los Angeles may have been the first official appearance for “Woken” Matt Hardy, as seen in the video above. Matt went all in with the “Broken” mannerisms while interrupting a backstage Bray Wyatt promo. We’ve noted how Matt began the “Woken” transformation after a singles loss to Bray on last week’s RAW.

Hardy and Wyatt interrupted each other several times during tonight’s promo before Matt ended it by sentencing Wyatt to “Deletion!” The two have since tweeted about The Great War, indicating that the feud is moving forward.

Anthem/Impact Wrestling Executive Releases Statement On Matt Hardy’s “Breakdown”

Matt Hardy‘s “breakdown” on Raw this week seemed to indicate that a version of his “Broken Matt” persona is on the way and Impact Wrestling exec Ed Nordholm has released a statement about it.

Nordholm told Sports Illustrated, “We have seen the character development and will be interested to see where they take the concept.”

Ed continued, “Our new talent agreements all incorporate language that allow talent to continue to use their IMPACT persona after they leave the company. We are working with our legal team to amend our existing agreements to extend this to all of our current and former talent.”

Despite the public trademark battle with Matt this year, it seems like they’ve changed their stance.

SI also claims that the recent tease for a Broken Matt-like character isn’t false hope. The publication reports that WWE is creating a character that will not be labeled as Broken, but similar.

Matt Hardy Makes More ‘Broken’ Comments

Matt Hardy continues to tweet about the “Broken” chants he did after last night’s loss to Bray Wyatt on RAW. As noted, Hardy started a “Delete!” chant and appeared to snap while sitting in the corner after his latest loss. He tweeted the following yesterday:

Matt Hardy Still Working On Acquiring ‘Broken’ Gimmick

Matt Hardy has hired an IP lawyer out of Nashville, TN to help acquire the “Broken” trademark, according to a report by PWInsider. According to the article, Hardy submitted a CWf Mid-Atlantic Wrestling promotional poster featuring him with his Broken gimmick during the “Expedition of Gold” tour after the USPTO refused his trademark registration this past May for “unacceptable specimens/documents provided as proof of use.”

WWE Seamstress Says She’d ‘Love’ If Matt Hardy Were Dead, Reby Hardy Responds

Julie Youngberg, a seamstress who says she’s been employed by WWE for thirty years, tweeted last night saying she’d love if Matt Hardy were dead … and it prompted a response from his wife.

It all started when someone on Twitter said they’d like to see Broken Matt join Team Miz at TLC and Julie replied saying, “I would love if the fifth man was dead Matt. Did I say that?”

Not one to stay quiet … Reby Hardy quickly responded and said, “B*tch you seen both me & Matt about 20x at TVs & have never said a damn thing. Shut up, p*ssy.”

The two then continued to go back and forth, with Reby noting that they’ve had years of issues and Julie seemingly threatening to sic WWE security on Matt’s wife backstage if need be. She also touted her tenure working for WWE and said she’s made “most of the iconic costumes you’ve watched on tv.”

Reby said in a string of tweets this morning, “We were actually contacted by an officer a few yrs ago about a ‘crazy fan’ making outrageous claims & wasting their time; It was Julie. No one is ‘stalking’ you, ‘hacking’ you, spying on you. NO ONE EVEN REMEMBERS YOU EXIST until you start revealing death wishes on twitter.”

A rep for WWE declined comment.

Matt Hardy Provides ‘WOKEN’ Wisdom

Matt Hardy has been continuing to post about being “Woken” on Twitter. Hardy has been pushing the “Woken” references this week following GFW President Ed Nordholm recently stating that he was done negotiating with the Hardys over the rights to the “Broken” intellectual property.

Hardy also provided some “Woken” wisdom, stating that “there is a lesson to be learned within every failure,” as seen below:

Matt Hardy On GFW / TNA Hypocrisy

Matt Hardy posted another “fun fact” related to his gimmicks and GWF. Hardy noted that when he was known as “Iconic” or “Big Money” Matt Hardy – both were created in ROH – TNA/GFW had him use those gimmicks when he came to the company. GFW President, Ed Nordholm, was interviewed by Sports Illustrated earlier this week to talk about the Hardys and ownership of the “Broken” gimmick.

Reby Hardy Angrily Responds To Jeff Jarrett’s Recent Broken Universe Agreement Claim

The “Broken Universe” dispute between Jeff Jarrett and The Hardys isn’t over yet … despite the two sides reaching an agreement last week.

Yesterday in a teleconference call, Jarrett claimed that no deal had been reached with the Hardy family and that GFW still owns The Broken Universe trademark.

Reby Hardy took to Twitter to respond shortly after and said, “I’m going to have to start “clarifying” things by recording phone calls, apparently. Everything out of this loser’s mouth is BS. Why tho ?”

The wife of Matt Hardy continued, “We had agreement terms as of LAST WEEK. Included non-disparagement clause to the tune of 5k every time I tweet something about TNA… …but according to @RealJeffJarrett, there is nothing ? OKAY !”

For now, it appears that the Broken references on Raw this week will remain just that.
